I personally know this seller and the car.

He resides down the road from me.

He's a good person and easy to deal with.

Car is in decent condition and has had a lot of work done mechanically(as mentioned in the add)

Paint work is reasonable for it's age, but could do with a respray down the track.

I'd love to know what the chassis no. is. Not sure if I have it recorded in my collection. Looks like a nice example.

Massive Swerve guys, This thing is a complete mess.

How so? Apart from the rust at the rear and the asymmetrical flares (lol..), it doesn't look too bad

Will ask the question Gav and let you know.

I hope you have better luck than I did in getting to view the cars.
They were on eBay recently advertised by a friend of the seller.

He responded to my eBay message and gave me the seller's phone number.

The seller would not return calls.

I tried several times and live very close. Cashmere in Brisbane.

They passed in on eBay not meeting reserve.

Re: Details about item: gadoue sent a message about Datsun 240Z Coupes x 2 #302247512289

I've advertised them for a mate who knows very little about technology, his name's Marty and I'd suggest you give him a call on his mobile as he's got people looking at them tomorrow..

Very regretful sale - as much as I love this car, it is time to go our separate ways as we have new members in our family and we are in need of a family car. This car is in a good condition considering the vintage of the car. Here's a bit of information on the car:

The car is improved with PERIOD CORRECT parts in the following aspects:

- More powerful L28 2.8 Litre engine (the original L26 has been known to be much less powerful)

- Triple Mikuni 40PHH Carburetors with 45mm air horns with steel linkage (These carburetors are known to be the most suitable for street driving) - The carbs has been professionally dyno tuned by Allcraft Automotive

- Canon Intake Manifold from USA

- Custom air filter made by Unifilter (the carb spacing is uniquely different from car to car, especially depending on different intake manifolds available on the market)

- 2.5 inch stainless exhaust system manifold back, linked to a 6 - 2 - 1 Exhaust manifold

- RS Watanabe Style alloy wheels - Staggered Fitment 17x7.5 Front and Deep dish 17 x 9.5 Rear (New tyres would be required for Roadworthy)

- 5 speed manual transmission (most of the stock on market at time of writing are equiped with the much less potent 3 speed automatic transmission)

- Defi Advanced ZD Gauge - Monitoring Water Temp and Oil Pressure - Other modules are included

- Full Prothane Polyurethane Bushings all round

- BRE style duckbill front spoiler

- ZG style fenders at all four corners

- JDM style Fender Mirrors

- All seats recently re-upholstered

- All new wheel bearings with Koya bearings

- New Uni Joint on driveshaft

- Stronger R200 Differential

- Custom Full aluminum Radiator

- Italian made SPAL performance series radiator pusher fan.

- 9mm Spark Plug leads

- ULTRA Multi Discharge Ignition 9500 system (Japanese alternative of the MSD Ignition kits. Wataru Kato of Liberty Walk uses this unit in his heavily modified Datsun 'Kenmeri' C110)

- Viper Remote notification car alarm

- Power Windows

- Very rare 240z steering wheel and horn pad

- Rechromed 260z badges

- Headlight Covers

- Kameari exhaust manifold heat shield with additional heat insulation layer

For those who are looking at getting further performance, The modifications above has been done to create a base to future proof any significant engine mods in the future.

This Unique Datsun 260Z is breathtaking in performance for it's age. Been garaged and looked after in a fastidious manner. 90000 km on the clock only. Belongs to a non smoker owner. Accident free.

It is a very reliable vehicle and is mechanically perfect. However, being a vintage car it would require someone who is willing to spend time looking after it for a rewarding experience, which a modern car would not be able to even come close to. It's a real head turner and gets attention from the crowd, especially among the Japanese car enthusiast crowd. I've had many compliments on the car and onlookers taking photos of it.

It is priced to sell quickly at $23,000.

Kyusha number plate is excluded from the sale.

I am open to swaps for medium sized sedans / station wagons / SUVs 2011 or newer, with less than 80,000km on the odometer.

Those fender flares look awful. How hard is it to fix that up

Much depends whether the rear arches have been cut and shut.

All the screw holes would have to be welded up.

yeah, not the keenest on them!

so these are probably reposts, but wouldn't mind getting people's opinions (starts digging a hole), (also please feel free to tell me to put this in a different section of the forum, i have only ever looked at the sale section of the forum until i eventually get a Z)

Why would these have sat on the market for so long (other than being the 2+2 boats)? i personally don't mind them, maybe a bit pricey, but they seem ok.

77 260z 2+2 *edit (is this a factory colour? if so does anyone know the actual colour, as the lighting in the photo isnt great)

and then there's this on the cheaper side, a 280zx but in auto

https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/endeavour-hills/cars-vans-utes/280zx-auto/1134837826

before the comments come about buying a 2-seater Z, i would love one, but i think i will find it hard to find one under $15k, that doesnt need a lot of body work. ideally i would prefer to buy something under $8k (waits for the laughs!) and do some of the work myself.

cheers

I am almost certain the first blue bus was in the Blue Mountains a couple of years ago and appeared on here in the same thread. It looks like the most 'original' - apart from the ZX wheels of course! I recall someone seeing it (if it's the same car) and saying there was a bit more rust than expected. Therefore it should be inspected in person rather than relying on photos.

The second gold coloured 1 looks nice enough but paint maybe a bit flat for what should be a metallic looking gold? Interested to know when it was last painted and by who and if there is receipts or documents on the work done (that applies to either car mind you).

As for the ZX I think you should drive an earlier car and then compared with the ZX to see what you like. The ZX does feel heavier and soft compared with the earlier cars.

Thanks Gav, i alway appreciate your opinions and advice. I have driven a 74 bus recently, although it's tires were quite flat and the car hadn't been started in a few years, she drove quite nice (havent driven a 2-seater), so i do have a fair idea what to go off. and yeah, definitely not relying on photos, just seeing whether it is worth my time to travel interstate to look at some of these cars, especially considering they have been advertised for a while.

yeah, definitely interested about the paint and body work of the gold bus, as he mentions a new roof and floor....

also, on the gold bus, i thought the inspection lights were on the drivers side, and not the passenger side?

I think they got moved around on the 260z's.

My 240z for comparison.

I think the inspection lamp was simply moved across to the other side on those cars fitted with that bulky emissions canister thingy.

My early 260 (non-emissions) has the lamp as per Gav's 240, but there are also captive nuts in the apron panel across the opposite side, near the battery, for the alternative location.

OdinZ, you'll find as you become more familiar with S30s that there are numerous detail differences between otherwise similar looking cars due to different years, but also to suit different market requirements and rules applicable at the time.

Hey gilltech,

yeah i have noticed and learned a lot these small differences, and if i ever end up owning an S30, i am sure i will find out about a lot more.

I thought I had seen early 260z 2+2 with the lamp of the drivers side. the inspection lamp has been one of the little things i really like on the S30s, so no matter which model i get, it will have one eventually.
