Rare Sale - 3 x Datsun 260Z’s collection for sale in one line.

I have been offered money as individual sale but I have now decided to sell all together. Successful bidder will have 3 Australian delivered 260Z’s and a good investment to make some good serious money.

With 260Zs currently listed online between $35K and $70K, everybody knows by now, these cars are on the rise. With the 240Z hitting record sales, its time for the 260Z to follow and now is the time to buy. Unfortunately, I have 6-7 projects going on at the moment including a few Datsun’s and I just cannot leave these cars lying around.

The 260Z’s are one of the easiest and cheapest cars to restore. You can find parts for these anywhere and a lot of new parts are cheaper than second hand parts. I have restored a few and I buy new parts from a few Z mobs. Most parts are cheap and do it yourself. It’s an enjoyable and quick car to restore. The Z store offer 20% discounts if you sign up with a business account.

The three cars were once registered and driving. The three cars need restoration. Two cars (240Z) are easy. A bit of surface rust but body mostly straight. Third car (240Z 2+2) needs a bit more attention on body work with rust fixing. 

All engines are in the cars. All original tags still on cars.

 The lot come with spare parts as seen in image.

They were already for sale before that. So already sold before the 9k. I remember the original pictures and they were very rusty cars.

I found an original picture of the silver 260z (note the rubber on the rear guard)

I just had a read of the add and couldnt help my self but laugh. When has anyone who restores or has restored a 240z/260z ever said this

 

"The 260Z’s are one of the easiest and cheapest cars to restore. You can find parts for these anywhere and a lot of new parts are cheaper than second hand parts. I have restored a few and I buy new parts from a few Z mobs. Most parts are cheap and do it yourself. It’s an enjoyable and quick car to restore."

 

Those are the words of a person who has found that its to much work for them to fix and at a price they are happy with. So now they try to make it appealing to an un suspecting buyer

HARSH!!  It’s all relative hey!  He might be the type that goes to Supercheap, buys 10kg of bog, 3 cans of spray paint, 1 air freshener tree, 1 dancing Elvis and a fully sick stereo and slap it all in for a ‘job done’.  $150 Rebuild. 

I mean it is not his fault that I spend the better part of my midlife crisis just getting the doors to close nicely.

You mean there's a way to get the doors to close properly ?  I assume you're referring to something other than my current method which involves slamming the door so hard you think it's gonna fly out the other side of the car right ?

No i think the car is fairly solid from what i have heard. the guy who is selling it bought it cheap as is and has added 15k to the price tag.

he also had a fairlady for sale and there was a bit of discussion about this earlier in this thread i think?

so these are probably reposts, but wouldn't mind getting people's opinions (starts digging a hole), (also please feel free to tell me to put this in a different section of the forum, i have only ever looked at the sale section of the forum until i eventually get a Z)

 

Why would these have sat on the market for so long (other than being the 2+2 boats)? i personally don't mind them, maybe a bit pricey, but they seem ok.

I am almost certain the first blue bus was in the Blue Mountains a couple of years ago and appeared on here in the same thread. It looks like the most 'original' - apart from the ZX wheels of course! I recall someone seeing it (if it's the same car) and saying there was a bit more rust than expected. Therefore it should be inspected in person rather than relying on photos.

I didn't realise but you can actually search for completed auctions on eBay using the advanced search option (how I found this car). Only problem is that the search seems limited to the past 3 months. It would be awesome if you could go back years, the amount of 240z's I could account for would be awesome!

Not that i am going to look at this one, but for arguements sake i did, buy and import this one and restored it to some what original looking, would it still have a similar value as an Australian delivered model? does the same then also go for ones imported from Japan or RHD imported from the US?
