  1. A car like that will probably never be registered legally - same thing I dealt with when I own'd mine (In QLD - and I've heard VIC is much more strict but same principal). New owner will have to get a mechanic to do a dodgey RWC and then just accept the fines as they come. To have it legal at the very least it would need to be raised significantly and a set of wheels that fit in the original guards + a bunch of mod plates. Quite naive of them to buy the car and assume they would be able to do a legitimate RWC on it.
  2. I wouldn't touch it with a 40ft pole but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that jazz.
  3. Body work looked good at the time, no rust that I could see although the paint job was fresh so could have some that's showing through now and the car ran (assuming this is still the same car) - it was also a project at the time and pretty much in the same state as it is on the Gumtree add. I thought it was a great buy at the time and told my mate to snatch it up but he decided to buy a clapped out s1 rx7 instead. Just can't help some people.
  4. If that's the car I'm thinking of it (the colour was the same) was for sale in Brisbane maybe 4 years ago (was asking around 4-5k at the time). I took a look at it with a friend. Was solid but the paint did have some runs in it.
  5. Could you post a screen shot of the for sale ad? It doesn't show up for people who aren't in the group.
  6. The build looks insane but I just cant see the point in that car. Almost 700hp at the wheels it would be pretty much undriveable minus the drag strip.
  7. Don't really see where the 70k is in that car (seems like he just picked a random number and threw it in) and imo it's well overpriced for what it is but good luck to him.
  8. Question: how are the flares held on? Are they stuck on using tape or are they screwed into the guards?
  9. I messaged the owner for more info on the engine and the only thing he mentioned was that its a recoed l28. Hard to tell from photos but for me it looks like a $30,000 car with a 70k price tag. Even if it was restored to concourse standard I couldn't see it being worth more than 40-45 without the original engine. Someone please correct me If I am wrong though.
  10. I think in the interest of full disclosure It would be fair to let everyone know what you know about the car.
  11. Long shot I suppose but would you be interested in a swap for a mint restored 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback. Less than 5k k's since resto.
