Administrators gav240z Posted December 5, 2016 Author Administrators Posted December 5, 2016 If anyone is still interested in the 260z 2+2 that was sold at the deceased estate auction in Benalla over the weekend. The buyer has contacted me (the club via club mail) to ask if we know anyone looking for such a car. I have the contact phone number/email. Quote

cracker Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Interesting. Are they looking to make a profit or have they simply changed their mind and selling at cost? Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted December 5, 2016 Author Administrators Posted December 5, 2016 Yeah I know, but to be honest I'm not that surprised either. Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted December 5, 2016 Author Administrators Posted December 5, 2016 Interesting. Are they looking to make a profit or have they simply changed their mind and selling at cost? Didn't say, I suspect the latter... Hi, I have just purchased a 260z 2x2 at a deceased estate auction. it is a 1974 model all original unmolested very straight is totally covered in dust and has been stored in a shed with many other classic vehicles. it has 86,404 original klms, it is a blue metallic. would you have someone who was a serious collector that would be interested in a vehicle like this. We are not going to wash the vehicle. cheers, jennifer Quote
Macdat Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Shit no wonder she (the buyer) seemed a little pissed at me when we went over to congratulate them Must have pushed them a little high maybe? Quote
AndBir Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Buyers remorse?, can happen when you get carried away at auctions. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted December 5, 2016 Author Administrators Posted December 5, 2016 Still good buying at that price in my opinion. If someone really wants a nice 2+2 in original shape, options are limited. Cost of restoring such a car would be significantly higher too. But is there a market for an original collector 2+2? I'm sure there is, but how many buyers are looking right now? Quote
AndBir Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Love the "...We are not going to wash the vehicle ...", that dust must have added $$$ to the price Quote

NGDCTeam Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 (edited) Good on ya Macdat! Held your ground, Sometimes it is a patience game. Though, am sure it may be picked up by a collector, most 2+2 models are quite rough as they are seen as a cheaper option. Edited December 5, 2016 by NGDCTeam Quote
Macdat Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Been called many things but patient was never one of them. Was very much an impulse buy.Going down to check her out in the morning, lots of mixed emotions right now, will see if I made the right choice tomorrow I guess NGDCTeam 1 Quote
Jen Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Hi all, I purchased the vehicle at the deceased estate auction on the weekend. Just want to clarify a few things. 1) I contacted the site administrator with a brief description of the vehicle and to see if he knew of anyone interested (collector). 2) To the gentlemen that was bidding for the same vehicle and lost the bid by $500.00 no sour grapes on my side of the fence, I was over the moon with my winning bid. As I recall you were very happy for us, and we were wrapped that we got the car for the price we did, so i do not know why you say on this forum that I was pissed with you when clearly you know that that is not true. 3) I dont normally take to forums, people tend to be critical for the sake of being critical instead of being constructive. 4) I purchased the vehicle to make a profit, weather today or in the future. 5) Believe it or not, vehicles are more valuable sold with the dust as found in original condition as this one is from being stored for that amount of time. (contact shannons for clarification). If someone is seriously interested feel free contact me. Jen Macdat 1 Quote
