Macdat Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Auto doesnt mean much in my opinion its easy to swap out. Its the body that gives it its value. I am thinking of going to the auction but i think it'll bring fairly decent money. I suspect there will be a big crowd there cause of the other cars as well. That FC panel van has 191km on the clock not thousand just 191. Very true but I dont think I could swap it out being such a clean original You know of the auction will you be attending mate? Be good to catch up with other enthusiasts if nothing else! Quote
specialp3 Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Does anybody want to give details of this auction ? It seems there is a few cars that are worth looking at. gav240z 1 Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted December 2, 2016 Author Administrators Posted December 2, 2016 The reason for my appraisal is as follows: 1. Original owner car. 2. Looks accident free and from the photos rust free. Alignment of panels looks good. 3. Could be original paint, engine bay matches. My guess is clean the car up and detail it and it would look a million times better than those photos suggest. 4. Original wheels TOPY steel wheels + hubcaps. I think that means it's a 74/75 model as most 260z's by now have the factory alloys you see everywhere. This suggests the car hasn't been messed about with. 5. Original SU carbs and ancillaries, getting harder to find. Most binned these bits in favour of 240z SU's. 6. Matching Engine no. 7. Interior / upholstery looks good and rip free. 2+2 interior bits are getting much harder to find now. 8. Probably original radio. 9. It's basically a time capsule... Therefore it has a lot going for it, couple that with the surge in values of S30Z's lately, the relatively rarity of finding any good 2+2's left and this car has proper collector appeal. I say bank on $15-$20k and be happy if you get it lower.. It seems unlikely though. A 240z in this shape would be worth $50k all day every day. 2+2 values are about half. NGDCTeam and AndBir 2 Quote
NGDCTeam Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Yeah! Have a go you never know, some people there may not take interest to the car or avoid anything related to deceased. If you can throw extra money to round this off, i think it will be a good buy, this is a sleeping beauty for sure! Goodluck! Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted December 2, 2016 Author Administrators Posted December 2, 2016 Well I Googled and couldn't find anything... Got me puzzled... Maybe that's a good thing though? Quote
1600dave Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 (edited) Likewise. Did find a Triumph TR8 up for auction though, wanted one of them since I saw Colin Bond rally one in the 80's. Wish I had a bigger shed. And a bigger bank balance..... Edited December 2, 2016 by 1600dave Quote

Macdat Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 What was the estate agents estimate? Said between 7500 and 15000 and obviously I'm hoping on the lighter side but after reading all the opinions here I might be in for a fright haha Quote

Cozza Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 It really isn't very hard to type into google "Deceased estate 260z auction" You gave all the info away on your own Macdat. Judging by recent sales I reckon over $15k. Good luck ? Quote
