Worth it in parts alone if you consider:

1. Ashtray looked complete and unbroken. $550 USD.

2. Topy wheels all there: $1,200 AUD (at a guess).

3. TM-1081ZB(S) radio = $600-$1000 AUD.

4. Original parts, like steering wheel, dashboard (even cracked), console, seats etc..(let's say $1,000 min)

5. Good 1/4 panels? Doors? / Hatch?

It's well worth it for the sum of parts, I was tempted to try snap it up. Take the bits I want (like Topy wheels) and sell it onward..

Hopefully new owner registers here and we can get the chassis no. looks like an earlier car and would love to document it.

Super quick sale.

I've actually just gone and updated my preferences so that I get immediate notifications rather than daily ones for new listings. Half the time I'm missing these cars as they sell so quickly.

1973 Datsun 240z for sale.

Chassis ends in 2369.

Unforseen circumstances sale.

For sale 240z

The hard decision has come to sell my 240 as I had plans to do up in memory of my mother. I am selling as I don't have the time and with a baby on the way I will have less and need to focus more on that.

Anyway sob story over, this has from research I've done a California z kit moulded in, it was done in Sydney and was then put in storage,

Standard motor.

Standard auto (have a manual 5 SPD close ratio)

It's in pretty good condition only minor rust,

Paint is bubbling because when I bought it the bloke put in storage 20 odd years ago.

Would be the perfect start for a good build.

Boxes of random spare part

3 core alloy rad with twin thermos (still have the original if wanted)

Will even pass on the qld personerlised plates (NVS240)

All reasonable offers considered

Oh yeah if I forgot to mention it it only has 5727 miles on the clock

Also needs whale tail removed, naca duct removed and better looking flares, remove the front spoiler etc.. It could scrub up alright. Might not be too rusty, but the flares will detract from value a lot I feel.

Dashboard looks crack free (possibly original skin too!).

Not sure how it got an early 240z steering wheel.

I would be worried about is hiding under the fibreglass and bog.

I agree, the car looks like its been caked in paint and seeing how these cars rust and how its been modified, I doubt its relatively 'rust free'

Price is a bit ambitious I think, given no original L24 (L-series engine) and customisations. Paint colour is also not my cup of tea.

With all the people that have being looking for 2 seater of recent I can't see this lasting the weekend.

Unless it turns out to be a HOS and it is just the photos that look good.

Cheers

Like others have said, I don't think it will last too long!

She looked like a fairly honest car. A good starting point for $15,000.

I wonder if it will reappear on ebay too!!

This car looks a lot like one that was for sale when I was looking for mine 2.5 years ago. It was on car sales back then. I think it was 10grand then. It was for sale for a long time then.

In that condition?

Around that time I remember there was a red HLS30 LHD 240z for about 14k, but in the photos it had visible rust (in the middle of the door I think?).

Nah it was purple with no flares. Same wheels. 2.5 years ago I bought my rust free l28 turbo 260 2 seater for around that money too.
