1976 Blue z starts, has issues with the fuel pump, does idle, engine sounds good, Hadn't been started for 15-20 years, till the other day. Auto g-box, mostly complete. Rego papers are being sourced atm. Has rust issues (rear hatch-roof)+ regular places, but anything is fixable if your keen enough. Blue z has been started to be restored, rust removal, hence the semi stripped, undercoat condition.[/size]

 

Silver car is only for parts, massively rusted. Its rooted. motor doesn't run, has manual gear box. complete running gear.[/size]

 

Both cars have clean plates, Suit parts/donnar cars.[/size]

1976 Datsun 260Z 2+2
Manual
Runs and drives well but no RWC or rego. Last registered in 2013. Daily driver for years before that so it has good bones.

Frankenstein engine with some desirable parts including:

- F54 2.8L block
- Decked N42 head
- 240Z round-top 4-bolt twin carbs, rebuilt only a few months ago.

Was a daily driver until 2013, I have five or six years worth of receipts for regular servicing and other works done. Previous owner stopped driving due to the carbs needing a rebuild. They were cleaned and rebuilt early this year.

Ignition system was largely replaced as well, including : New ignition coil, points, condensor, rotor button, coil lead, spark plugs.

New fuel filter, and new K&N air filter installed.

Interior is in good condition for the age. Carpets and seats are good, also have a new Z emblem shift knob for it.

Car has some rust, largely cosmetic but inspection recommended.

Paint is rough, but some areas are decent.

Has A/C but the belt was off it (it's in the boot) when I got it.

Engine was installed around four years ago, barely driven since. Have receipts for the work.

Nice unrestored example of a 40yo car, so you can do what you want with it.

Unfortunately I've run out of time and money due to a change in circumstances. It runs and drives well, so I think the rust is the only RWC concern.

Inspections welcome while the auction is running, but you are bidding to buy, not to look. Let me know if you have any questions or if you want to come take a look. Either email me through eBay or text me on 0425-852-348, no calls please, I'm a shift worker.

The interior is in really good shape and some of those later 2+2 parts in that shade of brown are getting harder to find now. From the photos it looks like it is in good shape but as with many things difficult to know without seeing in person.

 

Personally I think it's reasonably priced.

Customised coil over suspension. Way to many mods and extras to mention. Immaculate condition. Absolutely reliable. Great driver, tight on the road. Fully restored 12 yrs ago and garaged, only done 21000km in that period. Very rare cars atm. Inspection will definitely not disappoint. Currently have to many other projects on to have the time to enjoy this Z. Need to see this car go to someone who will appreciate and will care for it as I have.

i owen this project car more than a year, now i am selling because no time and money to finish it.I have done the following things: *full car body panel repair (fix all rust parts and dents) *full car re-spary with gunmetal grey colour (inc engine bay) *full engine re-build ( new piston ,new bearing,new headgasket kit,new radiator,and all new hose.new spark plugs ,etc) *new clutch kit and new trans fluid and diff fluid. *new front brake disc and pads more and more ,more works been done, car is running very good now , just need spend more time on interior work .

So i guess its time i should let you all know that the big red 260z is what i purchased

went and saw it a month ago and ended up picking it up on the weekend....

 

He was painting everything red because he "believed" thats how it came stock... ermm

 

Anyway nice old fella, he'd already fixed all the rust and done a lot of work getting it back to this point.

Came with everything including a re-skinned dash that looked like new, front and rear bumpers re-chromed and grill, manual and auto gearbox, auto had been rebuilt, new bushes all the way round, almost every electrical component had been looked at and refurbished and the list went on...

 

Now it will likely get blasted (again) and then 2 pack primed to sit till i move into my new house next year

 

AND yes... the red is all going...

 

Excited to get more involved into this group too even if not much happens in NSW

It says 240z, but the dashboard is a 74+ model S30z dashboard. It could have been retrofitted to an earlier car but it could also be a Fairlady Z.

 

I tried to look up the South Australian registration to see if I could get the chassis ID but couldn't get it. So not sure what it is. I thought it might have been this car. But don't think so looking at it now.
