Eleven tenths turned into twelve. Looked wild around Georgetown but 30 sec penalty. They were legging it to catch the torrie. The Whites Viper is a tyre shredding monster.

Guess that something like this was always lurking for Team 24oz given the performance they get out of that thing, good to hear that they are OK.

yeah I'd be interested to know what happened to Legacy also......When you  race a tincan with over 300hp shoved in the front, having an off isn't conducive to being reparable:) i'd bloody hate to be in an accident in one without a bazillion point cage :) there was that bloke a few years ago who died rear ending the lambo at 50km/hr with a full cage......the go great just don't ever crash them.

Looks like a new shell to me.

Be a shame considering it's an early car..

Was an early car, the back half is 260z chop isn’t it?

Lovely car and they’ve got some awesome video footage, great seeing someone build it, drive it hard and it sounds so good. Would love to know the spring, bar and shock specs. It glides along very nicely

They ran wwide into a corner, and fell off the road, into a ditch.

Unfortuneatley there was a newish exensive Porsche, in the same bit of ditch.

Said Porsche owner was/s/has threatened legal action.

Not sure of outcome, f any, and, the Legacy guys did say they were going to take a couple years breakk from motorsport..

The porsche had crashed out of the tour section of the Targa that proceeds the competitors and the 240Z crashed off at the same point and slammed into the back of the porsche.

As the porsche was now no longer part of the rally he was able to claim on his insurance policy for the damage caused by the 240Z.

The insurance company then went after the 240Z owners to try and recover the porsche repair costs.

This year there were two 240Zs in the competition, another in the classique section and I saw a blue one parked up near Burnie with some spectators.

Here are some pics of the two competition cars in Hobart :

Love to know if the porsche had triangles out well before the corner
Sometimes it's badly placed triangles or crew members randomly walking around that create further accidents

Sounds like a con to me, if the Porsche was still on the course then my bet is that it was still considered to be part of the event. The question is, why was it still there in an obviously dangerous position?

All of the porsches in the tour have the official rally safe units fitted, this gives all cars following a visual warning on the rally safe unit clearly indicating there is a car stopped/crashed on the course and the distance from their car (that counts down as they approach the car).

The warning board at the start also indicates the point on the stage where there is a hazard such as a crashed car.

Can't get copy URL to work but if you search "Targa Tasmania 2016 team legacy the Crash" it is still there.

Maybe Gav can link it.

Also quite a wake up call on the perils of targa and the Zed not turning in.
