sydney mike Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 KGC10 would be cool too For sure , the Hako and Kenmeri but for me, I don't think they're realistically attainable. BTW, this pic is for Gav. It turned up in my driveway the other night. He was buying some tyres I had on ebay. Nice bloke: Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted June 12, 2014 Administrators Posted June 12, 2014 Nice... Think I've seen it driving down Newtown a few months back. The real deal made a hell of a racket. Some awesome videos of the original on YouTube with V8s trying to chase it down without success. Quote
Riceburner Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 1) Honda S600 2) Porsche 356 During the hunt for my zed, I did get frustrated at times when I couldn't find one that suited me/my budget/the missus didn't approve or got outbid whatever, I nearly said "stuff it" and was just going to buy a R32 GTR. Of course, the rest is history and I love my zed. Heaven forbid, if me and my zed had to part-it'd have to be very serious circumstances, I would like to put together a triple carbed L28 (has it/can it be done?) powered Datto 1600 or 180B. I have seen a video of a red 1600 with a triple carbed L6, the fire wall was heavily modified and the rear carb was under angled part that the wiper motor is attached to. Quote
zzzzed Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Xa coupe always loved the shape Have had 3 of them in my time. 1 302 and 2 351 4v's. Each one handled like a cargo ship. I owned one when I bought my first s30. I sold the coupe because the s30 did every thing better. Quote
C.A.R. Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Looks like a JWF Milano, but the lines arn't quite right. OK Peter, you've stumped me... Quote
PeterAllen Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Looks like a JWF Milano,... Lachlan, you got it in one. This is the only Gullwing they made. Your dad probably raced against a few. (edit) Having taken a little time to contemplate this I realise a similarity, beyond appearance, with my GTO. The Milanos were (usually) built on top of 40s/50s MGs which were worth little by the 60s, when the Milano kits were produced, but are now quite valuable. Likewise the GTO kits were popular in the 80s-90s when S30 were very cheap, and now that S30s are more valuable again there are few GTOs (1)? being built. Quote
NZeder Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 As an affordable classic I would have a Datsun KP710 again aka 160j SSS Mark 1 like I had before (should have kept that car - I can't find my pics of it - too many PC changes since) but here is one that looks the same Quote
260DET Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Not a damn Porker that's for sure Easy choice, HR31 GTS Skyrine coupe, stick a LS3 into it and go have some circuit fun. What's not to love? Quote
dat240z Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 2000GT or an E type. Follwed by a 70's 911. Next Datto on the list would be a 2 door 510/1600. Quote
be-zed Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 As crazy as it sounds ; a XJS Jaguar . But I would fit it with 6 down draft Weber's . I heard an XJ13 with a V12 with 6 Weber's at one of the Grand Prix in Adelaide many years ago .It sound like THOR had farted as it was going down the back part of the track. Quote
thriller Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 I heard an XJ13 with a V12 with 6 Weber's at one of the Grand Prix in Adelaide many years ago . You mean, the XJ13? There was only one XJ13 built I saw a replica out in the hills a few weeks ago. Nearly crashed my bike rubbernecking to get a better look, hands down best looking car I've ever seen in the flesh. Miura has nothing on this I reckon. Quote
be-zed Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Yes; that is correct. It was only a replica and I Clapped eyes on it some 22 years ago . But the owner did state to some of the jag club members I was stuck with. That Jaguar were prepared to authenticate the car if he was to fit the twin cam heads to the block . At the time it was around 22 -25k per head to manufacture or so I heard . All third hand information so don't quote me on any of this. But a small price to pay for what it would be worth now. Quote
PeterAllen Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I don't know what was around 22 years ago but here are two I know of built in Oz. Digby Cook's http://www.xj-13.co.uk/xj13-replicas-big-red.php John Wilson's http://www.vehicleengineering.com.au/xj13.htm Replicas in general http://www.xj-13.co.uk/xj13-replicas.php Quote
chris240 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 That second one is a Canberra built car, ive seen it at the shannons car show. Built by canberras only rta certified engineer, John Wilson...magnificent car. Quote
kck Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Mustang early or late model. Unique solid looking car. Quote
Stivva Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I would have a z31. I would love one of those. Or are we assuming they don't exist either? Quote
