Should be fine mick exactly that they are a bit lazy and add a bigger turbo shorter diff should aid in quicker boost response. Dont forget rb20 have less torque hence the need of shorter diff. Though L28 have more but are also slower and laggy with big turbo. We see i think should be fine. Even if i have to change the ratio it will still work out cheaper than chasing a 3.9 or 4.11 actual lsd diff. Got this at realy good price.

Scored these yesterday. zg hinges at a reasonable price. And scored an r200 lsd 4.3 at a realy good price. Though need 4 bolt driveshafts. So if someone has any floating around please let me know. Also are 260z driveshafts same as 240. Besides fliping the moustache bar is there any other changes between r180 and r200 upgrade? Or best to get the 260 rear parts. Got a feeling 260 m bar is bit beefier. After this weekend should be all back 100% working on the z. Nato is working hard on the rails so should be finished soon so i better get the rest of the car ready for it.

Fairlady Z replied to gav240z's topic in Cars For Sale
Hmm came accross this in sa a 4 door hakosuka 2000Gt 15k Looks like a clean car http://m.gumtree.com.au/v?adId=1012633370 -
Seems to be bit of a flood in sa with s30 sales at the moment. Just to throw it out there. Can fix the rust spots paint the car lime yellow and put it together with l26. If someone wants a runner. Though price will obviously reflect that. If any interest make me an offer if good i may end up fixing it. Though if dont sell before 26th it be stored away and fixed when i get to it.

Must be adelaide air they poping up younger and younger. Anyway welcome we just had a similar discussion few days ago so here is the link. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,12393.0.html If you still up for it go ahead. Lot of guys here started out in a z as first car so dont see an issue.
-
Gav, Gareth is right silver is a bitch to blend/match.But if the guys say they can do it perfectly than fair enough. If u can afford it go full respray. Just import the sucker back and enjoy it. Here they are around 15-20k still. Though rough ones can be found from 7.5 to 10k.At least u know that one well.

Yeah i didnt get that far into it as measuring just saw it and had an idea. But had a modernised z now going back to basics. Was gona say 1k is still exy but thats damn cheap for porsche.than compared to zg lenses roughly same price these are bargain for complete headlight. What are they 997/cockster ones?
-
+1 Only thing im trying to figure out john what tha? This z is gona be more german than japanese. Though it will look good. Was thinking similar using new mini headlights but porsche good thinking 99.

Dat240z is right ^^^^ Preparation. I got few project cars and every one of them has a expense sheet and an estimated cost. Excell is good for auto summing and calculating all sorts of stuff ie stuff u sell or swap etc.. I estimate what each project is going to cost by comparing prices from Various sources. Pick what im happy to pay or thing i have to have. Place a note along side each item and if of a net paste a link to the website. You quickly see what just the parts are going to cost you. Than u add labour and other cost u may need to pay. If u not happy with the end number start thinking what is necessary or hard to replace. The easy costly stuff can be done later when ur finances improve. Once u done ur estimate than add at least 30-40% more to final figure for things u forgot or going to bite when you assumed it can be repaired. If you happy with that figure than start diving into it. Biggest tip is stick to the plan which is very hard. Once u change ur previous estimate is useless. Before changing refer to your budget estimate cost. Otherwise spirals out of control very quickly. Lot of guys here including myself have fallen in this trap. It can be fun and very rewarding but also heartbreak and stress. Plan for the worse and will only be better not the other way around. Have fun. If u still brave you can have a look at my cars and mess that it can cause when things go bit out of control.

Unless you know what you doing save 20K+ and get one that's finished. By your age I was very good at sanding and blocking (though hate it with passion), good with priming and knew how to fix dents and use a Mig. Do a head rebuild, manual gearbox conversion and reasonable at using a spray gun. My old man had a workshop and in my spare time and school holidays i was working for FREE at a local crash shop. Today's kids won't even take the rubbish out without parent paying them $10 for the job. Buying a Z for first car (even though the one Thriller suggested is mine, and i need to sell it ) its a bad thing. Yes Z cars are very nice and lot of people want it. Problem is no one want to pay for it. they all think its a 70s car should be $1000 as its Datsun. Sorry ain't gong to happen. People that buy badly beaten buckets and think they can fix it, quickly learn what big poo poo they landed them self in. Few people have done it but none at your age. if you don't have any body repair skills or mechanical (bear in mind mechanical's are lot cheaper than bodywork). I get cheesed off that when people buy a z thinking they can fix it than sell it as scrap cause they lost interest, cant afford it or let it rust even more so its worthless. To add to the list my current 240z owes me close to 10K in parts alone. Hardly any body work done, no engine yet, no interior or exteriors seal kit etc.... i got to spend probably over 500+ hr on body work as I want it perfect. and totaly rust free. I also shop around and know where to get good deals. I got money so funds are not a problem, for me its time. full time work and other commitments leaves no time for rest or fun. 5days working for a company to fund the projects and pay mortgage work few hrs after work on cars and than whole weekend. As much as i enjoy owning and driving them I also enjoy working on them. lot of sacrifices have to be made. I like people getting more into Z but sadly not many young guns stay in the game for long enough to enjoy them. Anyway not to scare you but prepare you for the crazy journey that seems like you willing to take.

To sunroof or not to sunroof that is the question?
Fairlady Z replied to Fairlady Z's topic in General Discussions
I got a roof skin but its reserved for other z. Yeah as u said zg are busy and having sunroof and vented bonnet just overdoes it. Im going to cut and shut this one. Its gona take some time but done it before with good results.have that section of the roof from the other z so profile is correct. Almost completed my "garden" shed so time to clean up and than back on the z. -
Nah mine dont do that. Did u update ur phone recently? Is it 5 or 4s. Mine 4s and its ok
