Ive been buying bits for my zeds all over the globe, UK, USA, Canada, Japan and Australia. Had 100s of dealings and purchases. Now luckily 99% of them were pleasant and easy. UK no problems great sellers via ebay. USA datsunation, scootz nissanofcheasapeake are outstanding. They are my regular sellers. Quick non inflated postage and items are great. If they don't have it listed they find it and list it. Nissanofcheasapeake is actualy nissan dealership, ive been buying parts for my s14 and s15 from them as the price is 3 times less than local with postage. Some other US sellers that have lota of goodies just plain refuse to even reply. They just refuse to deal with International buyers. So dont bother. If they dont have worldwide dont waste ur time. Canada This one is interesting. I tell u the details. Won a small item and postage was $25 bit exesive for an item that can be posted in envelope. Initialy seller was nice but than tried canceling transaction when i questioned the postage cost. To make it worth while i asked for other bits i need to make the postage worth while. Anyway i gave a list got a reply what he had and prices. Chose most of the parts got an invoice of $400. Not sure what it was for, but assumed all the bits i agreed to. I questioned but never got a reply. Made a mistake paid for it. The other day got a small box 3 engine bay labels a gearknob heater and fan knobs and map light bezel i won at the auction for $32. Postage cost him 10.50 plus the small box. Charged me $40 Now be very weary buying stuff from zedsaver. Get everything black and white don't assume. Or just dont bother heaps of other sellers from USA. Australia Everyone has been good. From resident sellers like zedman240,lurch,mossy,chassis254, and other regulars have been outstanding. SA wreckyards. Adelaide z cars, just nissmazz, dry creek auto wreckers, japco and u pull it for SA. Not many parts for early z but have occassional 280zx or 300zx we raid for parts. Japan, Via Jesse Streeter. Now Jesse is a absolute legend. No other words. Looks after his customers and tries to get the best outcome for them. Sellers from yahoo, asanuro_hasagawa, happy_pizza, have some good stuff at reasonable price. Some items are extraordinary exy. Like $600 or buy now $1200 for a pair of "fairlady260z" badges Dash at 1.9k+, hako 14x10 racing wheels at 7k and 432 magnesium Wheels at 9k. This is still add postage within japan and to aus plus comission. Just few hints and tips and traps to avoid if you never ventured outside of your local parts hotspots.

Ok over 8hrs of blasting in 2 days and garnet everywhere. Lot slower than expected. Multiple layers of paint body filler and tar based stone chip made it an absolute nitemare. And the garnet just everywhere. Finaly engine bay finished. Didnt totaly do the front end as it was full of body filler and was taking ages. Im cutting those off so no point wasting time. Underneath i only blasted where the trolley is going to be. Once on the trolley the rest of blasting may be bit easier. If too hard ill just blast it when it ends up on the rottiserrie. Oh did i mention the F#%^ng garnet everywhere As it was coated several times with tar stone chip, still soft, garnet just bounces off with minimal removal. Plan B has to be developed to remove the tar. Thinners seem ok bit slow and very messy. Anyone one suggest anything else??? The stock dry stuff seems to flake off easy. Hopefully tomorrow give it a scrub with renex to get any traces of corrosion out than clean it and spray some weld through primer on it. I knew it had a frontal at some stage and will be removing few panels off to get it 100%. Extra work i didnt expect.oh well that old z for ya. Removed rear suspension and diff so greasy and full of redbacks. Anyone after r180 and driveshafts let me know. So buggered. Time to relax

Well have both styles. As for legalities well mustang doesnt even have seperate indicators but tailights flashing still on the road. Though pending on ADR rules on the compliance. If doesnt say indicators need to be orange well they aint illegal. I only have like few adr rules so just need to check which one are applicable. Even if not dont care its damn color. What about all the color blind people does it meantey not allowed to drive yeah right. Dont care if or not. Ill argue the point

Heaps of questions ok ill answer as go. 1. Power steer using 02 mx5 one details will follow when rack arrives. 2. Flares were made by local guy in adelaide. ZG replicas. Also got a set from japan but not pictured. Set of flares and rear wing will be for sale soon ao keep an eye for it. 3. Wheel are old school cast watanabes from the 80's not new ones. 5 weeks ex japan on the dot. But just under 2k with postage. 4. Dimitri rear lights in good condition are $300+ if patient. Seen the as high as 1k for new ones. Japan for US crapy ones 250-700 for better ones. They popular in japan so hard to get them through there cheaper from US where I got these from. I may have bits to fix ur right one if u after orange indicator. Sms me picture of your light and ill see if mine can be used to fix it. Not sure if right or left that i have an odd number off. But do have 2 spare set of lights bit rough but can be prettied up. Just sms me and i help out.

180SX TypeX SpecR project soon to be daily ITS ALIVE!!
Fairlady Z replied to Fairlady Z's topic in Off Topic Discussions
Thanks guys, Ryan, gearbox will be aold as a conversion package or end up in my 240z still deciding. Need to recoup some money back from the 180 and s15. Got everything for ur conversion besides turbo never got it with the car. But do have manifold. Ill pull the head and see if any damage but not in rush offloading it (well till it gets in my way which wont be too long) Evan interrior only the front seats will go in and rears retrimmed to match. Also carpet from s15 will go in too. Rest no. No not doing dash conversion still want it to be 180sx not a s15 patch work. Got a uncracked dash so no need for it. Also got nismo 260kmh speedo cluster to get rid of the silly 180kmh one. I just hate those jdm speedos. As for gearbox. Not after big power it will have just cooler exhaus filter and boost raised via avcr. So not a thrash car just a nice cruiser. Missus will be driving it till its fate is decided. Enjoy it for few months and we see. Still want to get an s15 jap spec aero so 180 will most probably be sold end of the year to fund that or another project from japan. -
180SX TypeX SpecR project soon to be daily ITS ALIVE!!

Thanks Ryan, yeah wouldnt know about NS forum. Even owning at least one in last 14years still not tempted to join. One day maybe. Holey sr20 sitting lonely on side of my workshop. Got most bits to get ur NA as a Det. Including bigger brakes so its all legal. Do a deal with you if interested. Cheers Simon, that was all done after the return from PI so roughly 5days. Rip both engines out respray one engine bay detailing all the parts before fitting. With some z work and shoping around for parts. Hopefully all gets done mid next month. Cheers Gav, its not as time consuming as it fairly easy work. No rust to deal with just dents and shonky previous attempts of repairs. Lucky this one is fairly innocent. -
Yep one of those mini projects again. Have a nice SR20DET and 6spd manual sitting with no serious offers besides lowballers which my response was get nicked. So have this awesome engine in car im wrecking what do i do? Oh buy another car an transfer everything over. So got a rps13 180sx sr20det manual with a canary on windscreen for a price better than a rusty 2+2. So why would i swap an sr20 for an sr20? This why So out it comes. Plan is to update it to type X outside with s15 under the skin. So to look similar to this Now strip the engine bay and clean and repaint the tunnel. Engine bay painted Assembly of s15 cross member, control arms, power steer 5stud hubs and 4 pot calipers. Clutch and brake booster also from s15 have migrated over. Abs also from s15 S15 hub and brake upgrade s13 nismo tc rods and tc brackets Engine ready to be installed Engine and 6spd manual installed Most stuff was bolt in but not as sime as it looked. Brake booster is bigger and firewall had to be grinded to larger diameter to fit. Abs sensor studs were present but holes for grommet had to be cut out. Abs lines were incorrect and had to be reshaped to suit. S15 abs module bracket different to s13 so extra holes had to be drilled on upper section. Also this is not adapting s13 wiring to s15 engine which is easier plug and play. I wanted to retain the s15 ecu and abs control so im basicaly adapting entire s15 wiring to 180sx bit harder. Adapting s15 wiring to operate the pop Up lights, rear wiper, 180sx cluster and s13 ac digital ac control. Also adding airbag system so extra wiring for that will be incorporated. Next is to swap the rear end possibly whole s15 cradle with 180sx control arms s15 rear 5 stud hubs and brakes and s15 helical lsd diff that has the abs sensor needed for abs to work properly. After that body work will start. Genuine full type x kit has been bought and will be added to the car. Roof will be gloss black with black roof wing. The rest will be painted original KG2 gray metalic and will most probably ait on Rays engineering 17" lm gt2 or 18" gt3 pending which one suit it better. Though few days break on it as few days will be spent on my 240zg project. Almost finished making the 240z body trolley so i can manuver the car around while the front rails going to be installed. More on that on its own thread later.
