  1. good starting point with Z and nice 180. u dont see many clean 180sx expecialy type x they all seem to have been butchered for some front end conversion and rubish fiberglass kits. Typex is the only kit that 180sx needs. and some decent rims and lowered. but idiots abuse them. nice Z by the way. but not sure on the wheel color choice. I prefered it black. but as long as you like it doesn't matter what i or others think.
  2. Nice work Mick and Roberto. finaly to get it the sexy body that it deserves for that other awesome part collection u managed to shove into it. +1 for 2pk so much easier for maintenance. bird poop kills acrylics. well some will even kill 2pk if u leave it on 45C day and bird ate paint stripper which does happen well not sure about paint striper but what ever it had that day sure had same effect as paint stripper.
  3. Mark no probs. as for $$$$ just pay for postage. and send me a clip of the puppetry of the bum :P
  4. mate not sure what you refering to dash trim. assuming the defrost panel between the dash and windscreen, but let me know Scoot I should have few tacho mechs no housings or partial housing. now is it working or not is a $1m question. I grab couple and test it at work with signal generator. see if i can get it past 8000RPM
  5. Guys i only have one set of new Chrome one left with shorter stalk. one set and 5 people asking for them.. i wont be getting any for a while 1. getting harder to find 2. prices have gone slightly up 3. not getting any stuff from japan for at least 4-5months (got most stuff I need for my cars. So not importing stuff anymore unless i missed something that i didn't buy) Will have few more stuff coming in for a 240z next few deliveries but no fender mirrors sorry. I think one stock door mirror only second hand maybe rear wing and few other unique bits. the rest is not for sale . the long stalk s30 ones are very hard to get and very expensive. new black ones went for $950 for a set + postage so you looking at $1100 for a pair landed here for s30 black fender mirrors. rough second hand ones are around $350 to $450 for a pair and better ones over $600.
  6. very very very nice and clean good work Ryan. +1 dont clear alloy parts if on hot parts it will go yellow and look like crap. Just leave it blasted and like Simon mentioned it will protect itself and be ok just dont leave it in moisture and if there is wipe it dry as it will oxidise quickly. wd40 or similar spray gets rid of moisture keeping the alloy bits looking as new. try it on the silvia on the engine parts. ive been spraying my S14 ever since i got it. 14yrs later alloy and cad plated parts still shiny as first day. just dont drensch it as then u wll get dust sticking to it
  7. ok this will start again at warp speed. had been flat out wrecking the s15 and sorting few things around house. my phone decided to crap itself dodgy baterry waiting for replacment and back up phone has a camera as good as a 500BC stone. so pics will be coming up by begining of next week. my daily rx7 had died and will be quicker finishing 180sx off than rebuilding a 12A myself (will take time as never done it before) or conversion to 13b turbo. if im gona spend 4k to pay someone for a rebuild of 12A i rather drop in for same money 13B turbo. and get the little red beast FLYING. ok back to 180sx interior and cracked dash is out. all the wiring. half way through re-installing the s15 wiring. indicators and airbag stering colum has been converted to run S15 gear. Once the main wiring is in will wire the engine and give it a start before modifying the s15 wiring to suit S13. Just want to hear the engine run and get the car moving on its own again. Also check if all the wiring is working again before modifications. Most items from japan have arrived. still some items are in the waiting but wont affect the current job at hand. so need this finished asap.
  8. bit of a sad update to this one. after a recent tune up and dyno run it was found one of the rotors having lower compression. though the tune up and timing fix worked magic and car was better than ever. but last week while towing some storage racks for my workshop. After a decent sqeeze of right foot to join the traffic the questionable apex seal gave way and ended up down the exhaust somewhere. Bit sad but the good news is this will cause for a proper make over of the car down the track. which means a dent less paint job perfect interior and a big surprise under the bonnet some decent wheels and few other nip and tuck tricks. missus wont let me sell it her words were: "store it. Finish the other cars than come back to it and fix it how ever you want it" cannot argue with the missus. so the red rota is bit sick but she be back better than ever with extra muscle and pose.
  9. well was looking for a project car had to be old and sporty. first choice didn't have luck after 3months so got bit eager. got trading post yep trading post and started looking for Z cars. 1hr later ended up with 260z 2+2. than 6 month later wanted a 2 seater. at the same time my first choice poped up but the 240z was an hours dirve from home. went to see it but couldnt agree on price. bought the first choice. 5months later the same 240z poped again closer to my offer this time so this time was shake hand swap cash for car bring it home. Still in top 5 of my life most exciting days. Owning a 240z. This was my first Z car ever driven and now its getting what it deserves a new life. After that had 3 240z sitting in my garage with few other classics i just happen to be at the right time and place like mick said i didn't look they found me. but it is a virus. Zedatitis. Incurable disease. once the z rust goes in your blood and old oil u just want more. LOL (well less of it for ideal car) if u don't buy a car u realy want it will never satisfy you like retro Z explained. but the loss of money hes talking about is still nothing from experience those 3 cars gave him and the special bits he kept from each one of them for his perfect Z. so if u dotn want the virus. buy the one that you don't have to do anything besides personal touches. if u buy a cheap car it will develop into a disease that can be costly messy dirty and very obsessive. could break marriages, banks and friendships. but you will gain lot of better friends that understand you as they have the same sickness as you. hahahhaha if u working on the car yourself which to me is most rewarding few tips: 1. MONEY 2. SPACE 3. understanding wife, girfriend, mistress parent friends or kids . if u have one of those if you dont skip to 4. 4.TIME 5. Knowledge or as a substitute add few more of number 1. 6.Patience 7.Dirty cut up hands, bruisers and frustrations. looks painful But when you finish and hit the gas all the above will be forgotten. Just dont forget number 3 to go for a ride with you if you have the first two, otherwise your hard work and joy will be for sale as divorce settlement.
  10. may have been too harsh on you cooper. no hard feeling mate just recent dealings with lowballers got the better of me. finding a car that owner doesn't know anything about is rare. though not impossible. seen an old lady in a beaten up but complete 12A RX3 coupe. so many times i tried to talk to her and offer her money she can get a nice modern car. but than get me thinking im sure im not the first one and she still drives that clapped out rota. recent one the same intersection where that 240z is again an old lady driving a HK Monaro GTS. Beaten up no rust but heaps of car parking injuries. Again was about to follow and offer a decent amount but im sure she rather drive that rough Monaro than get a new car. Possibly siblings or kids know what it is and waiting for it as inheritance. so yes it can happen but you got to be prepared to offer a reasonable amount to able to get it. Keep looking just keep saving so u can pounce when the right car shows up. Bozo (Sam) did find a bargain so it can happen for you young guns. just have the $$$$ ready.
  11. UPDATED Other items that are for sale now L28E electronic dizzy $60 SOLD L?? 12. I go pass that car every day twice. yes the guy who owns that shop is Micheal and lives very close to Roberto as he said. as for $1500 offer if he don't punch you out I will STOP low balling and wasting peoples time.Micheal knows what they worth so you wont be getting a bargain either way. If you don't have money stop looking. Start when you have at least 5k in your account before even thinking of making any offers for any 2 seater Z. Sorry but this but just shits me. Had enough of dealings with low baller's and dreamers. Don't have money buy a suzuki alto and live with it. You want to be cool well you need money. I really doubt the car is for sale as he has few and few people i had contact with have allready asked and he knocked them back. he wont even sell parts of them. but he sell you super duper batteries and 4wd gear and range rover parts any time. Also I think the car is his sons. I've seen him work on it few time. Its getting preped very slowly for some sort of racing. Also has a Defect sticker on it. Otherwise from what I have seen from the road looks ok. If someone is serious about making offers please do so. he may have changed his mind. but don't go there low ballin and wasting the Micheal's time.
  13. if not to late. anwer to ur question like all above 5 lug only turbo models z31. i used z31 stub axles in my 260z hubs. reason wanted 5 lug and it will bolt to my 4bolt CV that were with the R200LSD diff. as mentioned above bearings need matching to fit the 260z hub and the 300zx axle. big issue is 260z hub is imperial dimension while 300zx stub axle metric. you wont find a suitable bearing. trust me i tried and came with 0. so i machined the 260z hubs (approx 1mm) both inner and outer. also had it machined offset by 10mm towards outside. than bought of the shelf bearings that suit the shaft and the new machined hub. and all bolted together. ill be doing similar again but keeping the 4 lug for my 240z. also i had my machinist cut the z31 caliper bracket clean it and what u know it matched the z hub perfectly. than refited complete z31 rear disk setup. hardest part is finding a machine shop willing to do it at respectable price. im lucky i got a retired machinist 73yo that has all the gear in his backyard. Still has the custom made bed to house the 260z/240 rear hubs. as soon as i get me stub axles he be doing this again.
  14. if you still looking for one i should have couple complete ones somewhere..........hiding.

    SA BBQ Request

Paul cheers for the hospitality and a great day. Awesome people, awesome cars and awesome food and drinks mate top effort. Nato for cooking the bbq and eating half of it while cooking it Steve for getting my chook cooker to run lot better , sorry for the smoke screen. Looks like 13b turbo be on the menu in future and bumping the mighty huge 65.8rwkw to modest 165.8rwkw And sorry for spoiling the pic with it. But admit it guys wasnt that out of place blended in well Hopefully next time the z be on the rollers to prove a point. Awesome day
  17. Yep blow-by turbine. No waste of energy on this engine
  18. prices updated , few new items and updates on sold items. got quite a few parts but time is of a essence so if u need something ask and i get back to you. when im bit free ill put up more pics and more items. most items are in good or usable condition. ended up buying all new for my cars so used items are up for grabs.
  19. Ryan Re: type x . Shut up. dont you start. Its also specR lol its meant to be a confusion. This one will be more of a s15 than type x anyway Re: z well what can I say tree stumps are not car stands shouldn't use them. Alex Trolley is only till I get the front rails on. If i put the rotisserie now the towers will just get ripped off. So it is going on the spit as soon as rails are on and front all tied up and welded. Trolley is also made for my other car where i don't need a rotisserie. Want a higher working area and easier access under the car. plus will make assembly of suspension bit easier. Well its on. It is rear biased but there is no rad support or rails. Got few weights on the front to make sure its safe. Though rear still mostly intact. Nato my missus looks after me when im working on cars. no one can make my missus happy besides me. she helps with cars but wont paint the house doors go figure. Finally Z in the workshop, workshop half cleaned other half when my missus orders me new storage rack system.( See I told you she looks after me, hopefully in before the weekend.) Now back on the 180sx this weekend then when the racking system is in and rest of the workshop cleaned, work on the rails will start. slowing down stupid daylight saving suck in winter.
  20. No wonder its been raining here... nisswreck being competetive. Lol Usualy they are 50% more than others. Must have changed their tune. Bout time. Good score Simon
  21. take the turbo off and the little 1.1L will whip your butt. leave the chook cooker alone.
  22. bit of a pause. mate. had to re-arrange few cars around.... had to bring my ZG project 240z inside the workshop as its been long enough outside, weather is getting worse and tarp is not a really good shelter. . now that that's inside and workshop half tidied up. ive moved the s15 to rip its rear end off and make its way to the 180sx. progress will be happening this weekend. besides that also finilising the intercooler setup and type x front bar. Need to get the running gear in asap and get it running. than body work/paint .Out of the shed and than rework the wiring and interior. lots of work. but hopefully be all nice. Wrecking and selling parts is almost demanding full time. would be easier if you don't deal with dreamers and time wasters. comes with the territory i guess owning a silvia/SX these days. if everyone rocked up as they said or bought parts as they said the car would have been long gone. You spend 20min agreeing on price time of pick up .On the day .........................................(crickets chirping) not even a sms saying sorry mate: broke, cant make it, my car, parrot, dog, ant died, i found it elsewhere, don't need it etc......... just plain rude.
  23. maybe fairlady z ones ? better than those datsun ones you got now. heheheh
  24. Wrecking my s15 is taking lot of my time. Lot of time wasters to deal with and lot of packaging and posting stuff. So yeah things have slowed down a bit. And probably for couple more weeks as i finaly get to sort out my workshop and fit the z back in out of the elements. Plus still working on the house got to keep the missus happy
  25. Yeah ill try heatgun and scraper and bit of mineral turbs to scrape the tar. Well yesterday my 240 tried killing me twice. Hence I added Christine in the title. Can a single person mount a zed on a 750mm high trolley without any cranes. Simple answer yes but unless you want to be squashed like a pancake think about it twice. One z shell and one trolley how hard can it be? Started well till almost on it i just needed another set of hands for front end to be tilted on top of the trolley. As i started tipping it it decided to roll backwards on top of me. Well i bolted and lucky the garage is brick and stop the z instantly Though extra work that i didnt need Another attempt at it with similar results but no damage to the car or myself (bolted very fast lol) till i figured my problem was with my aid, the roller pipe. Once sorted. Launching to the skies just to tilt it over. Wooolaaa Z on a trolley So can a single person do it on its own? Yep But quicker and lot safer way just get a carton of beer and 3 mates and get the job done in 20min than enjoy the beers for rest of the day. Made the rear mounting brackets to suit 240z and almost finished the front mount. Trolley will be re-used for my other projects so the mounting brackets are bolted not welded. Its high enough that i can even fit complete rails. Its at good working height for the body. Roof well need a ladder but that will be tackled on the rotisserie once the rails and rad support are welded back. Till next time.
