Personaly i love sunroofs in a car when factory does it. My s15 has one even though screws up headroom and im touching the roof (nothing reclining seat back cant fix wog style, btw i can say that paying out myself ) i wouldnt want one without it. Its so cool. But not a fan of pop tops or aftermarket stuff. I know there are people that like them so i respect that. Like i said if i wasnt going zg route i would have left it.

I dont think its out of place its not bad in person u hardly notice it. Its very low profile unlike most aftermarket kits. I do believe that this is probably an 80s install as its resemblance to to exa one. Though my bigest worry is i personaly think it will ruin the zg appearance. Just too much glass on small cabin. I want it to be smooth like this something about this pic and angle that makes the zg soo cool. dont want to screw it up. Now imagine a sunroof there. I just think its going to be odd. I think now ill be silly to leave it in. If went through all the expence getting zg stuff to replicate it as close as possible the sunroof has to go.

Wow never though it be such a hot topic Everyone has the good points . As for purity or being standard i could give a rats butt. I cannot afford a real zg what the point stock zg be boring i like to have one that looks like it but goes like the stink and cost me half as much. Nobody in australia is going to pay 80k for genuine zg. I love it but other cars come to mind like porsche, mustang, camaro,corvette, which are better investment. Anyway as i said earlier i just think too many things on may detract from what im trying to achive. A zg replica that is very close to original. Sunroof kinda doesnt fit in that category but nor does big fat wheels or vented bonnet but thats my personal have to have.they just look so much better with it. If i was going just normal z with flares i would prob kept the sunroof. Im even contemplating not putting the RB and keep it L so its period correct. But we see. Easier to plan for rb now than its just a quick changeover.

Not hard but expensive for stainless ones. Be prepared to pay upwards of $600+ for a pair if not more by the time you include postage.

Yeah benny u got that right Nah not doing that again. It looked good but big head f. Its either keep or remove and plug. I got that part of the roof from my rusty musty. So getting the profile right wont be too bad. Im now leaning towards remove and plug. Its a very small roof and sunroof shouldnt be too hard to get right. Even if i spend two days i think it be worth it. Im just too worried about over cluttering it with stuff. Main reason i fell in love with zg is the clean lines. Still love my normal Z but fender mirrors flares and extra long nose just ticks all the boxes for me. Also lucky enough to have vertical demister glass like real zg do. Also its the easiest one to make a good tribute to original zg. 432 be easier and cheaper externaly but without s20 its just a normal 240 with 432 badges bit lame. As mine will have vented bonnet to get rid of the heat build i was thinking to paint the grills same as the flares and bumpers. If sticks out i can always paint it same color as the body. Im almost talked into removing it but still not clearly over the fence still holding with one arm. Nato i know what u hint is but by time u make me a metal type sunroof she be ready for another rebuild lol. Btw how are the floor rails going? Cheers guys. My only real concern is with sunroof and vented bonnet may be too much going on a ZG replica. I do want it to look as close to original 240zg as possible. Though vented bonnet is kinda a must due to other reasons. Practicality of a sunroof don't bother me. Can be with or without it. Asi dont mind it could save bit of time by just leaving it there. I see what pole says when time comes to actualy make a decision. At the moment 70% say to leave it. Kinda surprised thought be other way around.

On fire today. Presents keep arriving. The FG falcon intercooler looks like a reasonable fit just to decide the orientation that works out best for L and RB later. Looks like a good cooler rated to 350kw bout what i need. Also looks stock which me like. Also one of the fairladyz badges arrived. Nothing better than a feel of a new part. Im gona cry when i cut the z part off. :'( Oh well must be done to replicate the "fairlady 240z" on ZG More goodies please. Oh I forgot picked up the replacemnt floor on weekend from rare spares. Looks like a good fit. So at the moment got all the bits to do on the engine bay. Building a storage/garden shed behind workshop so i can clean up my backyard so dont look like a wreck yard. Also clean up the workshop. Once that is done finish blasting the front end. Weld te rails and rad support back on mount the car on rotisserie and blast the rest of it. Than enter the workshop for rust repairs and body work.

So i guess most can see which direction this project is heading and why fat watanabe could only be on it and why lime didn't suit.

Hehe cheers guys. This particular one i dont mind. The one i had in 260 prior my mod was junk. Luvemfast i was trying to keep it quiet but or what tha heck. I was waiting next 24 hrs to say as im waiting on key item to the project but i will get it anyway so no point. Colour is Grande Prix Marron or know as ZG maroon. So i guess now you know what this thing is going to be and why i got those wheels for it.

At the moment with l26 or l28 turbo just doing hilux vented upgrade at the front and r31 or s13,s14,s15 rear conversion. Once rb26 is in i will see. Maybe s14 r33 or rx7 front rears either leave or upgrade to z32 r32 items. Not sure yet. Want to run abs once rb goes in. Its going to be daily so not requiring 50laps at bathurst or PI. So wheels will stay and brakes will be worked around them. Also whatever engineer says. Don't see how hilux 4 spot with good pads and rear disk wont be adequate. Will be running short nose gtr diff at back that has abs sensors. So fronts need to be upgraded to suit. Also may need to run twin piston at the back because of the abs modulator.

Hahahahahhhahah snip snip heaps of stockers around for people to see and walk past. We need some wild ones that peole stop and say WTF that is soo nice. But saying that i didnt think Zg front will look ok without flares. Must admit Gareths is an exception. Im guessing the fender mirrors zg lenses and two tone nose and nice wheels look so good that you dont notice the flares missing. Only comment is to paint the rear bar to mach the front and its perfect.

Ok im still debating to keep the sunroof or to remove it. Pros: 1. No delay in project 2. Dont mind it personaly looks ok and give bit more light inside 3. Good for summer nites crusing with it removed completely open air driving 4. Good if on the sun open it slightly to let the heat out. 5. One of the better sunroof ive seen on a z. Factory like (yes i know they never came with it) 6. No delay time or extra cost quicker on the road. Cons: 1. Its a sunroof on a 240z devalue not that im gona sell it anyway. 2. Can cause problems leaking but it is in good condition 3. Extra heat from the sun dark glass. 4. Probably cause fumes if i have any leaks under the car. 5. Glass break no replacement that i can find so roof will have to be shut eventualy if that happens 6. Maybe stuff the clean lines of the z but being dark coloured it most probably will blend in and wont be noticable 7. will take me few weeks to get rid of it properly. Ok some detailed pics. Has 3 different levels of opening shown 1 to full open. Also can remove it. Very similar to stock 180sx and n12 exa turbos. Inside car pics Outside pics Cheers

Alex just google his name comes with his page than email him. Im not sure if he tracks it so far i just sent him links on items and he buys them. All the guys i know that used him did the same. Now searching that term may be triky by yourself search engines do not repond well to normal alphabet so best to email and ask. Hes very good and quick with replies. Seen some cool stuff but prices are out of this world dont forget z cost lot more there so parts are lifted accordingly

Cheers Alex, biggest ive seen so far were 12" On watanabe website depends on what style i think largest are 12. Though have seen 11.5" for rears pair only for 1.2k. Even 10" i think they will stick out on zg flares. May have to widen the flares lighly. No biggie. 295 rear tires on a 240 will look crazy. Give the rb26 something to cry about down the track.

Gav since u havent paid an been so long like said above just move on. Even if it wasnt only thing you could have done is give him negative feedback. Picked up good bargains almost unheard of and was lucky to recieve them all. I pay straight away so that way i lock them in. $28 with postage for hks evc pro boost controler. Resold it for $450. That was a good day. I buy and sell a bit on ebay. Copped a neg feedback after guy was expecting a huge parcel to arrive next day at cheapest possible way. i bent backwards to assist than idiot started being ungreatfull and pain.i had a feeling i get neg feedback so refunded the money and told him to F off. Well at least the bastard didnt get it. Ebay refunded me the fees and gave him a strike for abusive messages. But i cannot get rid of that freaking negative. Freaking bastard. So not fair u cannot give neg to buyers or even neutral. Happy ebaying its good fun
