    240Z Carbs

Hey Herb, I see you've got a 260z airbox... If that bolts up fine to the 240z carbs and you have no use for the 240z airbox... I'm here Anyways, it's amazing how you can post up a wanted ad on this forum, and within a few days someone usually has it covered. Love it!
  2. This forum: http://www.rotorburn.com/forums/forum.php is pretty decent. The second hand section is quite good, and the people are generally pretty willing to help you out, so long as it looks like you've put some thought into stuff.
  3. I have a haynes manual for the FB series, has the usual 25-odd-page guide on engine rebuild if you end up needing it and don't have one already. But for 1.2k on rebuild parts, that's halfway to a Silvia halfcut
  4. Did some sleuthing and found some more pics: Snorkel is crazy. Would have been super cool to see it decked out in ye olde monte carlo livery. Big shame about the rollover
  5. Had a close look at 240z ones, my mistake. They're a little too different for my liking, so I'll have to pass. Sorry.
  6. I have it in the SR20 box of my Silvia (71C type box), and honestly it was a night and day difference. Used to crunch 1-2 often and was pretty notchy, now it only crunches on very cold mornings when I forget to be super super gentle straight out of the driveway. Still feels like shit, but just very very less shit. I doubt it would make a difference if your gearbox feels fine already, but if it feels bad enough that you're saving for a new one, then it might prolong the inevitable for quite some time. I hear the WRX guys use it a lot too.. And you know what they say about WRX boxes.
  7. Hi mate, Might be keen on that mirror. Can anyone confirm if 240z and 260z are the same mirrors? Also, is that a left or right side mirror? Cheers, Ryan
  8. Work VS-KF Work Equip 01 5-spoke (I think...) You'll be hard pressed to find something that isnt 'chromies', especially in 17" I think. Old porsche Fuch wheels (heresy!) should be perfect size though, don't know about stud pattern. You'll be able to find older styled 15" in that size by the truckload.
  9. Riverge is that 4-spoke design posted previously. As with most old japanese rims, sizes go from 6" to potentially a few 10" floating in existance. I get that completely, but there's more than a few ways the design could be subtly changed so that it looks roughly the same, without looking as though it was trying to be an exact fool-everyone replica. Anyway I'll cut it out so I don't derail the thread too much
  10. The riverge replica is a decent size! Tempting for my MX32... But, why not create something that is more of a tribute, or 'inspired by', than a direct copy? The only thing that would stop me from buying, is because they look like real a real Riverge, but they're not. I think a lot of the 'purist' crowd would buy them because they're not a knock off, and everyone else would buy them because they look cool.
  11. Holy hell, the engine bay looks stunning. Agree with above; it'd be interesting to know the ballpark (just roughly) value that a Z of such condition would fetch. Keen to see some professional photos of it then! Credit to the previous owner too; looks like he's done a great job. Poor guy
  12. mate nice find, that car looks fantastic. It's cool seeing interiors other than black, especially in condition like that!!
  13. Ahh so that's where the green one ended up! Good to see it on here in good hands at least. I like the kesev too. 4AGE is damn fun.
  14. Phwwwaaaahh really?! That sucks hard. Lucky I've got mine, but I still think historic reg laws are a little over the top... OP; Personally think it depends on what your plans for the car are. If you're keeping the car original, matching engine is a plus in my books. But if not, just stow it away in storage/
  15. Gav, Not 100% sure, but was talking to someone in Adelaide who had the same thing done. Memory tells it was the same shop... But it was something like $120?? Might have been a few other pieces too though. I'm sure it looks better than they did from the factory though, seeing them in the flesh is incredible. Looks perfect. Can't wait to see this build finished, one of my favourites for sure!
  16. Looks incredible, really nice job you've done. This might help you on the search for Z432 clock: http://www.importmonster.com.au/yahoo?cat=26322&term=Z432#26322 Basically lets you browse yahoo auctions japan, but in English. If you find something, you can either sign up and bid yourself, or get someone like www.jessestreeter.com to bid on your behalf, pack stuff up and send it to you. Daresay there'll be better luck finding one there than on English ebays. E.g. I saw a Z432 tacho the other week, was going to bid before it ended, but when it went above $200, I started questioning my sanity...
  17. Probably better to ask what he doesn't have haha. The s15 looks good, I actually have a picture of it saved from somewhere else from ages ago haha, did you do the conversion or buy it done?
  18. Dude , it's not a herrafrush civic, no need to drop that terribly overused phrase haha. S15 with 14a front is my favorite conversion of all s-chassis'. Anyway weird. My name's Ryan too, am into drifting, and also have a silvia ... snap! Post a pic of the 15, would be cool to see. And a decent build thread once the Z gets going! Nice plans btw.
  19. Would be interested to see how many rims he went through. As a bit of a side note, one of my good friends gets paid to go around the world and ride bikes down big rocky hills. At one point last season he said him and a team-mate were going through a rear rim every 1 to 2 runs down the hill. The team had a guy employed there who pretty much did nothing but lace up new rims for them. The rear wheels retail for around $600 a piece he said...
  20. What's that rim doing on (what I presume is) a Hakosuka sedan http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w77812571 Think these are a works rally rim too...? Seem quite a bit rarer. Thats $2,600 landed right now.
  21. I know of a few places that do a 15x8 +0 for roughly $110 a rim? Mossy on here has that size on his car and I think that suits perfectly. But horses for courses.
  22. Hey Dimitri, I'm around that area once a week, will be going down on the weekend. Would be happy to pick up, pack, and drop to a depot for you. Let me know
  23. Dimitri on here (zedman240) may be able to help you with the first two? Occasionally group buys happen for #3 for less than $400, plus postage IIRC? And maybe try your luck on http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/ for the 4th one. God luck hunting!
  24. Looks fantastic; my 2c on taillight lenses: Before: So I pulled the center trim off, attacked the lens with some autosol and elbow grease, attacked the center chrome trim with the same, masked off the chrome parts and gave the center line a hit of black spray. Turns out like this: Not perfect, but for about $3 worth of autosol and less than 15 seconds of spraycan, it ain't bad at all. I know of someone who sent the center trim off to be re-chromed, I think it cost about $120? Not cheap, but it looks incredibly good. Perfect.
  25. So do I! It's on now haha
