  1. Actually installing a sunroof will be the same as driving with a window partialy down - see my first post in this thread. It will however be sure to contribute to the holes in the floor and the mouldy smell. This may over-power the exhaust smell - so could work
  2. Looking good buddy. How's the access to the other side of your shed?
  3. Before I went down the 15" path, have a chat to your tyre dealer regarding what tyres are available in that size. You might find that answers your question.
  4. Hopefully there were 2 in there
  5. Well done Pete. Daughters ROCK. Mine helped me build the shed and is the needle girl when it comes to drenching, AD&E etc. She is awesome! Her first engine building session was as an apprentice to the one and only PMC! Multi skill them, give them confidence and they'll never have to rely on a dumb-arse bloke to help them!
  6. Yes you are a big girl now. 5 eh? That's this many (holds up hand). Happy birthday Princess. I hope you had a fun day. George
  7. Jason, my post wasn't about go and git a lawyer. All you need to do is some research into that Act to ensure I have the Section number right and that is applicable to your State. Then you simply write them a letter, quoting the relevant Section and making the request for the reasons for their decision. It is quite amazing how quickly a decision can change when they have to try to explain that their reason was not much better than 'just cause'! I understand the frustration when dealing with govt bodies or other groups that are a law unto their own. I have used this Act successfully on a few occasions; local council when planning/building permits were dealt with poorly. As an example when told in Brunswick that I needed to build a car park in the back of my 5.5 m wide block and the telephone reason was because about 4 streets away there was a shortage of parking - comply or withdraw your building application! The written response when asked pursuant to the Act was; that was an admin error and there is no longer a requirement for a parking space. In short, you have tried everything else. What do you have to lose? It's amazing how the 'bullying' stops when required to put it into print. MaygZ
  8. Mine's quite dull, sorry. I've been known as Maygs my entire life as it is a shortening of my surname. My older brother had it and I was known for a lot of my schooling as Little Maygs - until about 3rd form when I was taller than the original. He was prepared to accept little Maygs as his nickname, so for a little while I was young Maygs. So when it came Zed ownership it logically morpfed into MaygZ.
  9. Time for me to nerd up! The Administrative Law Act 1978 places obligations on people or bodies that make determinations. This Act defines any person or body that makes a decision that affects another person or body as a tribunal. Section 8 (I think) allows a person who is affected by a decision to require, either orally or in writing, a written reason for the decision of that tribunal. This reply must be within 14 days - although there are procedures to extend this to 28 days in some circumstances. If they fail to supply the reasons, they commit an offence. I have typed this from memory, so forgive me if there are slight errors. I can't recall if this is State (Vic) law or Commonwealth Law. I don't have acces to Acts of law at the moment as I'm back at the farm. It could be worth making an enquiry with your lawyer and get your reply before chasing it further. Be aware that this same law (certainly in Vic) can be of assistance if you find yourself in difficulty at work or get passed over for promotion. Simon
  10. Dimitri, I wasn't suggesting shorting out the solenoid wire. It was the wire from his switch relay. He has his ignition switch operating a relay that then runs 12V to the starter solenoid.
  11. Thanks mate and that's one freaking good memory you have there. I don't know if Freestyler is still around. I can't find his name in the member list. I know I could get to Bathurst and back in a day - don't know if I could do it easily as I reckon it would be mind numbingly boring - but I take your point. Anyone interested in coming for a drive to Bathurst in an Hilux to pick up a rolled Hilux? 'crickets'
  12. THIS IS A MUCH WATCH. Note the references are listed. Check them yourself. Don't just believe what you are told. Check what you can and then consider what you can't. SHE wants to reduce CO2 so she taxes it. On the same day the CO2 tax comes in (presumably to get us all to do more to reduce "Global warming" oops I mean "Climate Change" - it got colder so they had to quickly spin it for us - SHE is cutting the solar rebate. The rebate that was encouraging thousands to reduce their load on the power grid and thus reduce the amount of coal we burn and the costs of more power infrastructure. You have to ask yourself - if SHE was fair dinkum about reducing CO2 why would SHE attempt to profit from it rather than reduce the encouragement to covert to cleaner power sources? Remember any business with an increased cost due to CO2 Tax will simply pass that increased cost onto the consumer. This increased cost with then attract GST!!! SHE..2 Aussies...0 REALLY WATCH THE VIDEO - EVEN IF YOU ARE SICK TO DEATH OF CLIMATE CHANGE PROPAGANDA BULL SHIVER
  13. one in 84,600 (24x60x60)
  14. Gentlemen, sycronise your post clicks ... on my mark.... POST! Sorry, I should add something productive:- short out the relay (complete the low power side). If it cranks then you know it is the switch - saves pulling it out for nothing. Dimitri can confirm, but I think the ignition switch is an earth switch - that is to say if earths out the power, rather than allows power to the relay. So take the ignition switch wire of the relay and earth out that terminal.
  15. G'day all. Anyone know a good car transporter? I may need to get a car from just outside Bathurst, NSW to just outside Kilmore, Vic. It runs, but is otherwise stuffed - so don't care if it gets a few scratches
  16. It's measured differently. Road car is 1m directly behind exhaust. The other is set up on the side of the track, measuring as you drive past (approx 30m and off to a side) By the way, which track?
  17. By the way, the clutch arrived. It cost the fellow $43 to post it down. So it cost the fellow $3 to sell it to me :-( Still a way off fitting it though.
  18. Well work is under way on the brakes. Cleaning brakes sux. I spend nearly 2 hours wire brushing these R31 calipers and was getting nowhere fast. So I put my short arms into my deep pockets and went and bought a sand-blasting cabinet. The first photo is after 2 hours; the 2nd is after about 15 minutes of sand blasting. I got the cabinet from Supercheap and they have a sale on this w/end (I think) and the garnet I got from BJ Bearings. Very happy with both. Dare I say it was a BLAST!! I crack myself up sometimes. I'm so witty!
  19. Justin, it is the responsibility of the statemen of this world to educate the ignorant youth. Watch and learn. George
  20. Great movie. Kept me from dentists for a long time and still can't watch the whole movie without shifting in my seat.
  21. Looking good mate. Be careful - some greenie somewhere is now after you for destroying the native habitat of the very rare Indian Mina!!!
  22. Bozo, I don't think they fold forward enough to let you fill the back seat with women
  23. It's beautiful to watch Whittie. Your thread is my first read of the day.
  24. Do you think? Now I hope that italics is the accepted method to convey sarcasm?? I have a foot in all the camps. I agree that I have seen people get flamed for what appears to me to be nothing. I have also read some crap that somehow gets through unscathed. I am also a bit quick at times to pay out. I do hope that that my 'paying out' is taken in the tongue in cheek, light hearted way it is meant. I've said it before and I'll say it again - I think that the community in this forum is the best and strongest I've been involved in. I only have 2 beefs with the way the forums runs at times. I emphasise that these comments are not directed towards any particular person, but the forum in general. 1. Digging up old threads with no new info. It occurs mainly in the for sale sections. Inane posts like "is this still for sale?" and general conversations about off topic matters in the middle of someone's thread. Surely a PM would be a better way to deal with nearly all of those type of inquiries. 2. There is a spell check button on here guys. Please use it. Yes it's a US dictionary, but it's closer to english than some of the comments typed on here. Very few people, including me, are wordsmiths, but we can be doing it better. Please apply the rule that if you wouldn't say it to a person's face, don't type it on a public forum. If you find yourself being offended by a comment on the forum, yes even one of mine, just send the author a polite PM asking for clarification, suggesting a rephrasing of the post or ask them to delete it. Please let's avoid the to and fro' sniping that is the hallmark of other forums. In the words of the bringer of light (to Gippsland): I still love you all. MaygZ
  25. I wouldn't be quick to dismiss Lurches advice - he is a welder/boiler maker. However, and I suspect you're mind is already well down this path, I would buy the AZC bar! Much shiney. Much bling! MaygZ
