  1. Jamo, would a setup similar to your spring mounts for your exhaust (proably with stiffer springs) solve the problems? It should reduce/restrict rotation and also buffer the vibration noise. MaygZ
  2. They look like valve springs?? Very neat and functional looking set up. Good job. MaygZ
  3. Wise words indeed, Jamo. His bus has been an ENORMOUS job and he has learned so much, a better shell would be walk in the park now.
  4. I'm a little confused here How or why would you be running an ECU with triples? I agree that without any doubt at all, the set up that you seek would be far simpler and more reliable with EFI than carbies. Then a programable ECU would almost be a necessity. MaygZ
  5. There are two styles of moustache bar. The early girls (very early) had a straight bar.
  6. Simon's right. I only get one on my right foot - the other on my left. He must be special to have two right feet. Justin is no match for George!!
  7. Scoota may well be spot on there. The easy way to check and therefore prove or disprove this posibility is to take out the plugs and then crank it - obviously after it's been sitting for a while. It will be obvious if he's right. After it's been running for a while, is it easier, harder or the same to start? How many K's/hours have you got on the engine? Is there a chance that your tolerances are a bit tight? Have you tried short circuiting the starter? ie: bypass the switch? This should show if the starter is kerplunk or if it runs better, then then may be a voltage leak at the ignition switch?? Just a few thoughts, ones that you have probably already tried. MaygZ
  8. RB25det, loom, ecu, box etc on eBay. You just have to buy the damaged skyline that it's all sitting in. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/r33-Nissan-Skyline-damaged-10-months-rego-/250936568077?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item3a6cfc290d#ht_500wt_1202
  9. HUHUM!!! Mr Beeber, when you are ready! Answer the farking questions! your truely George
  10. Can someone please clarify for me? Whilst I've always been told that firewall forward they are the same, it appears from these pictures that the rear of the front guards are wider on the 2+2. Is this illusion or fact?
  11. Hey Justin, who did your flywheel? What specs did you give them? Did they need clutch/pressure plate specs or model? Did you get it balanced at the same time? How much? George
  12. What about just take out the back seats and then extend the boot floor forward. At least it would be 2 seater on the inside.
  13. WOW. That's all I can say.
  14. Look like you've made up your mind - and it is a great decision. Welcome to the clan.
  15. Hey Dimitri, you know where I live. Just drop it off on your way past ;D ;D ;D
  16. Aaron, Welcome. We all want something out of the ordinary. That's what makes us cool We are all awesome drivers and we all pranged our first cars. I'm a better driver than anyone on the forum and even I put a dent or two in my first car - and my second for that matter - shiver and my third .... and my sixth (but that one wasn't my fault!) Anyway, what Lurch was trying to say, was that start with a cheap, modern car for the first couple of years. Cheap modern cars are pretty reliable, blend in to the crowd a little (not cop bait) and are cheaper to repair and cheaper to insure. You will prang your first car. You don't want to, but you will. So get one with some decent safety features, like airbags, ABS, traction control, air-conditioning, headlights that work, hazard lights, doesn't suck exhaust gases into the cabin, side protrusion bars, crumple zones (ones that leave the passenger area in good shape), shiver maybe even decent seat belts!! Your maintenance costs will be lower, your insurance costs will be lower and while you save money you will live long enough to buy a Zed when you're a rating 1. Just for an exercise, call RACV and try and insure a Zed? I don't wish to discourage you from your Zed dreams, but I suggest that you try boring for a while. MaygZ
  17. "Hi, do you want to swap your rare as hen's teeth weekend off for my 2 crappy day shifts, so I can go and drink pi$$ with some car geeks?" "Sure MaygZ. That sounds like the one off chance of a life time I've been praying for. I was only going to waste the weekend getting to know my family anyway."
  18. Anyone else thinking working bee??
  19. That car looks great!! I'm not sold on the pink wheels, but I reckon the package looks awesome. You should be very proud of what you have achieved. Well done. MaygZ
  20. Take her for a drive in it!!!! Welcome.
  21. Maygz no come :'( Finish work 3 pm Saturday. 3.75 hour drive. Start work 7am Sunday. Leave by 4am to get to work. 3 hours fun + 6 hours sleep. 512 km = 52l of fuel (more if I go through hills) = $73 = hilux calipers. Have a great day. I reckon one Simon is enough anyway, so you may as well have the young pretty one!
  22. How does this compare with what you've seen for price and quality?? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DATSUN-240Z-TOTAL-Polyurethane-Bushing-Kit-BLACK-/360203153676?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53ddc7f10c
