  1. As usual,,, the rules got changed, yet again, to cater for things like RX7's, to be classified as a Touring Car. Another little anomaly, was a certain model Alfa aromeo 105, and a certain Porsche 911, were, in late 1960's/early 1970's, given Touring Car status. Now today, that same model, of both, is allowed in both Historic Sports Cars, ( Group S) and, Historic Touring Cars, ( Group N)
  2. Theres bound to be HEAPS on the Datsun Roadsters! And with all the privateer cars, in addition to the original factory cars, should be jolly interesting!
  3. OEM new ones at around $630 a set, about 1/3 the price! Who wants some new ones?
  4. The Harada manifold. As above, i fitted it to Casey's car last year, the round shaft with bolt clamped linkage arms, supplied with it, would not hold.On the pic link in Gavs post, on the far right, the additional rectangular alloy bar, that raises the linkage rod, to get it better aligned, that end bit of alloy section, fouls the thermostat housing.
  5. That manifold fouls on the base section of thermostat housing, nothing a decent bit of file work wont fix. The anodised linkakes on the round section long rod, will slip and cause carbs to go out of balance. Look elsewhere for the hexagonal section rod and matching arms, for a positive non slipping linkage. Have fitted these, and had minor issues.

  8. Well,,, 25k aussie would have gotten you a complete original, with faded paint,! New owner has part way through body off full resto.
  9. Coming Fourth outright in the 1987 Rally Australua, in our 260Z, that had only been completed three days before the event start. Following year, the effort, work and planning, and the events, where we won outright, the NSW State Rally championship. The rules had been changed so that only cars built to Production Rally Car rules, could compete, and we had thought long and hard, about what car would be best, and came up with the 260Z! And yes, we did roll it over, got it back upright, and continued on the finish, ( minor damage see 2nd pic)
  10. 2 seat 260 Full set, Brisb North Message me.
  11. No, they dont, but these are specific to the L24, and were fitted to the 240Z The cast mani's fitted to similar era Skylines, and other L6 motors, all had a single orifice exit, usually.
  12. More a WHAT! Slight shades of a U motor there, but she aint Circa mid 1960's. OK Next!!!
  13. Bingo It's the correct twin outlet one, comes with engine pipe with flange, to suit.
  14. I'd be guessing, that being Rex Carr's car, it may have had a bit of a hard drive or three, on a number of dirt roads. His wife, Lyn, is a well known co-driver, for a number of tarmac and dirt rally folk. It was Rex and Lyn that fell off the Mt Buller road, in a competion, in one of his other tarmac Z's, they ended up upside down in a creek. Not sure if that 240Z was at all repairable. Someone here may remember, it was quite some years ago!
  15. Nissan used to sell the blanking plates to convert the cam towers from spray bar type, to the later internal oiled type. They mst have felt this was an upgrade. If you want to run an internal, and a spray bay, you'd need to make sure you have sufficient oil volume, and pressure to allow for all the extra "leaks", a Turbo 280ZX pump inly supplies around 15% greater volume, but no greater pressure, unless you fit the Nismo twin relief springs, which give a slight increase in pressure throughout the oil system, but this puts greater wear on the oil pump drive gears, as they have to work harder. The other advice, is to enlarge by 1mm the oil feed orifice that is in the top deck of the block, this helps to flood the valve train. If you cant find an non-drilled cam, run an internal, but blank off the spray bar feeds. Have seen quite a few spray bars where the ends have simply broken off due to harmonics, easily silver soldered back on!
  16. In the washup to this, where are the lap times/results?
  17. Got plenty of internal oiled ones here!
  18. Just make sure it is a correct and proper turbo exhaust manifold, for L28ET There have been cases where the much smaller, and very poor flowing 2 litre turbo exhaust mani is used, as a substitute. They dont work so well. How much? Well, I got this piece of string, not sure how long it is,,,,,!
  19. If you cant find any local to you, I have a selection available. There are a few different ones, put up a pic f the one you have/need
  20. If Gaso Alley cant do anything, try Senco on Kenwood Pl Brendale. Another bloke also in Brendale is Joe Farmer, ( called Classic & Restorations, something?)
  21. One came in, along with a proper GTR and a 432Za couple years ago, into Brisbane. The GTX was around to $70k AUD figure. It turned out that it had had some fairly below par rust repairs in it, but has now been very well repaired by a oldschool type Brisbane resto shop.
  22. Dip it in kerosene, every 10 seconds while cutting.
  23. I got a brand new in box one of those! Will sell! PM me if interested!
  24. If not using the crinkled waffle material as heat shield, but metal, get the metal one ceramic coated. Not running it every two weeks, is enough to cause a bit of fuel evaporation, so that fuelpump will have to work to get enough fuel back into float bowls at high enough level, for vacuum to pull fuel mist up and through. Considered a rear mounted electric fuel pump??? If so, fit a filter between the pump and tank, no need for second filter up front.
  25. Forget the Miata one, it will be setup for their rear discs, and car fore/aft weight balance. It will be reasonably close though, are you running rear discs? If not, ie stock rear, I have a spare prop valve. Can pack n post. PM me, if you cant find one near to you.
