  1. Are you just wanting it for period correct looks? Or function? If function, forget the regular looking coils, like GT40R and the OEM factory coil, ( if you do want one, I have a few, happy to pack n post!) Bosch do a very good smaller type coil, in the newer weird shape, that are better performing than the traditional oil filled "coke can" coils Cant recall the model number, but it is very commonly used, and works well with electronic type distributors.
  2. I'd weigh one, with pads, but they are bolted onto the 240RS back axle, in the car, in the shed. If one wanted lightweight calipers, cant get any lighter than the AP enclosed type four piston units, which are also period correct, in racecar useage, also bolted to the front struts, of same said car.
  3. Correct! Then, after you have installed whatever springs from whatever model Ferguson tractor you have chosen, you then wind the adjusting collars up or down, to get near to desired ride height. If you have gotten close to limit of threaded tude, then you'd need to reposition tube over strut leg, in order to give more thread to make finer adjustments. Thats why you just secure it initially with a couple of tack welds.
  4. We dont argue,,,, we have deep meangfull discussions!
  5. Go check out a builders supply yard, grab a couple of bits of threaded scaffolding tube, a couple collars and a couple of lock rings. Before removing, rest it on tye ground, and meadure distance between the top and bottom spring perch seats. Rip your struts out, measure uncompressed free length, same perch to perch, theres your static compression height. No pull struts apart, carefully grind perch off strut, slip said threaded acaffolding tube over, tack weld, fit lcking ring, then collar, machine disc to suit ID of springs, reassemble, using current strut top and perch. PRESTO! Coil-overs, then start playing with ride heights. Start from there, then worry about shortening strut, thicker wire diam springs, and shorter length strut inserts, later ( Toyota MR2 are nice and short!) You should know all this simple stuff,,,,,, Crikey,,, I just noticed,,,, 3900 posts on here, of usefull knowledge, information and years of experience on lots of things Datsun!
  6. I'm always right,,,,,
  7. Doug, You only need the L series bellhousing!
  8. The old farmers have been doing that for decades. "Ethel, here comes another one, will he want the '37 Chev, or the Fergie TE20 tractor?"
  9. Srry, they are all the short tube length. I do have two sump pans that have the bowl further forward, compared to the other sump pan, which has bowl set as far back as it can be.
  10. Someone place an order,,,,, see wghat response you get back. For around five years, Kameari have not been able to supply, same deal on their really good lightened rocker arms. No idea if it is a "test the waters, see how much interest we get" thing, or what.
  11. Still doesn't explain whay you did to your diff! What broke, and how? What oil were you using? What centre did it have? You broke one, or you broke two?
  12. The internals of the main casing has a cast in upper channel, that permits the slung oil to mve up to the front. This so called "race" zx, exactly what broke in that diff,,,,,,
  13. Aka a "back sump" I have a half dozen or so assorted, from various L28 motors, Will need to have a bit of a dig through some boxes. Remind me in a few days time,,,,,
  14. I have one of each available. ( R180 and R200) Both in vgc also have some new SuperPro ( the good blue ones) with one of them Easy enough o pack and post!
  15. Got a few, in Brisbane, but, be patient, someone in SE Vic may have one.
  16. To show how close Jon and Gina are, they only need to pick up just SEVEN seconds, to be placed THIRD outright As each day passes, these time gaps will spread out a little.
  17. Standard oil pump impellor height is 3mm shorter than the L28ET oil pump Iirc,, 30 vs 33, or could be 32 vs 35 mm. Pull one apart and measure.
  18. 2009 to 2011 hey! That'd be that QR Race meeting, and a few Lakesides and Morgan Parks! This the motor my stocko L28 with the 1.5mm extra bore only, sucking through a single 50mm butterfly, would leave in its wake,,,,,,,? I musta had 250 neddies! ,,,, seriously, Richard's truck motor does go well, and built by same bloke that did my motors, to my recipe!
  19. At the time of that "off" Jon was running one of the kaaz diff centres, once it got very sideways, it simply opened up, and he lost full drive. It needed from rear towers back, the bit that was grafted on, got a severe ligthening procedure The LED lamp assy's are very light, and the wiring in the car is the smallest guage pissible, as LED's require very little amps. Car meets minimum weight requirements. Just like the quick Gp S circuit cars, 960-980 kg, in 260Z/280Z. Jon doesn't mind the wet, its the others that do!
  20. He's in a factory, up to his elbows in fibreglass, carbon, resins and glues. No office, no fancy overheads, making good bits for us car folk. And you rip into him for taking the usual time involved to make what you want. Rome wasn't built in a day, niether are engines, gearboxes, smash repairs, paint jobs, but we want it, and we want it right now, or else we'll post it on the internet.
  21. What's so funny?

That mob are as tight as nun's nasty's when it comes to letting their precious's go.One will turn up, just move quickly, have seen reasonable ones advertised then de-listed with a day
  23. Alexander, DO NOT hit the cam towers, they are loops of alloy, you do not want any deformation. Just place timber along top side edge of head and hit with a lump hammer, to "shock" it loose. Rubber mallet probably to absorbent.
  24. How about this,,, The execs also get bonus annual payments, when their companies perform well, and, they also get bonus payments when their companies DONT perform well! And, when they resign, or are kicked out, they continue to recieve an annual salary, in the case of the Australia Posts recently resigned CEO, he gets paid a few million, for each of the next five years! And we wonder why we cant compete in a global market, when imports can come in, thanks to the Hardly Normal stores, an plenty other retailers, that do noy buy Aus manufactured goods, and be sold so bloody cheaply. But, oh no, You, the little one off hobbyist, no sir, you will get whacked for bringing in your car part, for your one only car!
