Gearbox sounds like a 280ZX 5 speed. Priced very well so it should sell real quick.. With the door, get a pic of where the door catch is so we all know if its an early or late 260 type; inny or an outy!

All that switch does is go to ground. When I added the relays to my headlights for low/high beam, I just soldered that wire to the highbeam switch ground wire. Normally it connects to the loom on the steering column but I did'nt have time to trace it so just did the above shortcut.

Drive shafts just pull out. You may need a small pry bar to help but if you are removing the diff yourself, rear axles have to be removed.

If yours is a R200 as well, yes! I've done exactly that; DR30 LSD in my 240Z. Just swap the left / right flanges when installing... just listen/feel for the "click" when they are installed correctly. You'll have to change the front flange too.

Make sure you have spark and that fuel is getting to the carbs and filling the bowls. If you have all that, it should all be go.

Doubt if any bolt place would have a bolt like that; they have a large shoulder and are very unique. I get the occasional punter come in looking for an automotive bolt and I just tell them straight away..either wreckers or dealership. Don't waste your time. I think I may have a few spare...are you just after one?

Only the 73 model Australian delivered zeds got the rectagular turn signal lamps that hang off the bumper; the previous 70-72 models just had the lower under bumper/valance type.

After finding out the shock of the $136 ID plate, are you sure you want a NOS switch? A good second hand one will be around the $150+ mark. I'd be trying to repair your original one that is if you do have one.

Thoroughly enjoyed the read Gavin... Memories came flooding back when you showed the pic of Marc's zed; still remember when we were on the way to the Zed nats? I think it was in 2001 to Shepparton and Marc's zed snapped a cam shaft on the freeway luckily while we were still in Melbourne. Its a bit hard to fix that on the side of the road so in the style of Top Gear drives, we just left him and continued on..

Thanks for that... I still haven't seen it myself yet! Had to drive to Morwell at that time so I just recorded it on my Foxtel box thing. I was only told Friday evening that it was airing on Sunday. We filmed and took all the pics early March and was asked if I could keep it a bit quiet for the time being. Had a chance to watch the filming at Gibson Motorsport shop but could'nt make it I think its available to watch on their site (if you google Car Torque it can be found!) Will watch it tonight...

Last time I saw it was at a concourse at Southbank in the early 2000's. Greek guy who did spend a bit on the resto. I remember the Roman numeral number plates. He reminds me alot of a member here John (Sirpent)

Do you need the headlight beams and rear housing so they just have to be mounted in the zed and plugged in? Or just the insert itself?

From what I've seen, people aren't "jumping" on you about asking, its the fact you have received the help and advice, but expecting others to do all the donkey work for you. Wishing parts just fall in your lap after asking several z based forums won't create many friends.. doing crap loads of research and maybe looking for actual pictures of what you need so then we know too what specific Z-L part you are after and also maybe the same as our Australian delivered models. I have only seen a few of the JDM Fairlady zed models here and I could see plenty of differences between the models. If you are worried about sending credit card details online, grab a prepaid type card with a fixed low limit for international purchases... low risk just in case it does happen.
