  1. Do you need the metal tube that goes into the block and not the rubber hose that goes to the airbox? Might have one floating around..
  2. Where's the "like" button?
  3. Sometimes when water from rain wets one side of the board, it warps. That's why they install that plastic that most people remove.
  4. A black VT Commodore with stockies on the rear... Just kidding.. RX3 Coupe or an EVO 9.
  5. Useless posts removed... Can we please keep it to constructive, useful opinions please? BTW, drilling rotors like that would be suicide.
  6. From memory the plug sits under where the radio is; it terminates as a white plug with two large green wires. On ignition power up, one of the wires has power, so just wire in a relay and give power to the green wire that runs to the back. Obviously the wire that has power originally, the other one is the wire that runs to the rear.
  7. That's the guy Rob uses in Mordialloc. He raced zeds back in the day. He sold his race car to Gordon Dobie so he knows about zeds which is a bonus.
  8. Wheels are probably made by "Auger"? or some other Australian company. You may have to take a wheel off and look on the inside for more info. May be easier finding other period wheels rather than parts for an older wheel.
  9. What was needed was more time for people to get organised and members to confirm that they can turn up. We need to settle on a place at the start rather than at the end near the actual date. Seemed to me nobody was interested..at this time.
  10. I mean here at Fat Bobs at the moment... if theres only a couple of people, might as well head home. looks to be a packed full of patrons..
  11. Here now but if evryone keeps bailing out, i wont be here for long... sorry, havent got seal trims.. havent been home yet!
  12. Just got off the phone, and was told we can "wing it" ie roll up and see what happens. Apparently tables outside aren't reserved so they are free. If not, we can hang around my workplace again which is about 3 minutes walk from there with plenty of parking. I'll be there around 7:30pm so if anyone wants to come down, you're welcome..

    High Revs

I agree... could your clutch be worn? or not engaging fully? The auto diff is a 3.5:1 and the 280ZX first gear ratio would be a 3.2:1. I'd be checking the clutch.
  14. Looks great! Post a video when it's running...gotta hear that induction noise!
  15. I'm sure my slow L24 would hold up well against some healthy L28's
  16. 7:30 should be fine. I finish at 4:30 here so I can wait around for a while. Might be a bit hard to book if we don't know exact numbers. I'll give a call later and find out. Looks like there might be around 4-5 total? Post a reply here if you are a definite!
  17. George, I'm using my original matching number engine in it's slightly modified state in my early (121) zed now. The odd sprint and Sunday drive and its been fine for many years. I don't over rev as the limiter is set to 7k and shift is around 6.3. If you are going to be working it hard, by all means store the original and build another monster. But if it's a stocker, you're best throwing the cash at the original L24. My 2 pesos.
  18. With regards to the loom, once you remove it, just check for any major damage like wires melted together or from previous owner butchering, and if it all seems good, just re wrap and install. I've repaired a few looms and it's not that complicated to do yourself.
  19. Anyone prefer any place to meet? I'm happy to have it near my workplace at "Fat Bob's burgers" or if anyone prefers anywhere else, please chime in!
  20. Looks like majority have voted for the 6/6...should we lock it in?
  21. Let us know when you are here and we can get a meet organised... welcome back!
  22. Another welcome Melbournite! The more zeds the better in Mexico! Post pics when you can... Any good mechanic will give you a RWC...try to find one that knows about the older cars; especially Japanese and you should be fine.
  23. Have you tried giving it a little extra "umph" when switching it on? I know mine needs a firm movement to make it work.
  24. I was looking for the second part of the sentence reading " I'm only a student with limited funds living in a unit with only basic tools and NFI"
