  1. I had the RB25DE setup in the zed for a while and it was the best for a street driven zed; quite, smooth and plenty of rwKw's. Just needed some good cams to liven it up a bit.
  2. Nothing car related but one thing I know for sure a lot of members here have dealt with questionable "dealers" on eBay. Just asking everyone for an opinion here....who's right or wrong. Scenario is, bought a emergency battery backed up LED light from the seller. Seller failed to disclose that the light was missing battery and LED driver (small detail) but it wasn't shown in the pictures but wasn't stated in the ad. Found out after I received it. Bought light, paid for postage and the light was posted to me. Found out it was missing parts, and advised seller and he agreed to a refund after I sent the light back. Sent back the light at my cost, seller now has light back again, then I discover he only gave a refund for the light itself MINUS the original $13.40 I paid for postage. One phone call later, his argument is Aust post don't do it for free and my argument was I know, I paid for it and now you have the light back again, which I paid for postage twice so now its like I didn't buy it originally. So seller has LED light, not out any cash but I am minus $26.80, half of which I accept for sending the light back and not asking the whole amount... If it was possible to reach through the phone and slap some sense into him, I would've but I would like to know what you guys think.
  3. I'v asked Rob at the Z factory about those early 2400 covers and from all the early cars he has seen, they have been mixed around; some did have them fitted and some didn't. Mine should've had one fitted but just have the OHC version.
  4. Welcome.. Check as often as you can on the forums! Things go quick around here....
  5. Selling on behalf of someone else... Model: 280ZX Series 2 1982 Required Location: Melbourne Price and Payment Conditions: $1800 ono Item Condition: Fair to Good 2nd owner. Body: Rust in a few spots in bonnet, doors, around the T-tops and crows feet in paintwork. Mechanical: Runs very well. Registration: due very soon. Engineers Certificate: NA Pictures: <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://s1294.photobucket.com/user/Dimitri_Vass/embed/slideshow/"></iframe> I've inspected the car, first obvious thing that needs attention is the paintwork. Crows feet are on the bonnet, roof and hatch. The rust spots will have to be cut out and the areas around the T-tops would need some work also. It's in very original condition and hasn't been modified other than the head unit for the stereo. Presents itself well, looks clean and with some paintwork, will come up very well as a great daily. Dash has cracks and interior needs a little TLC. If you want more info, I can PM the owners details... Thanks
  6. If used for loosening, no problems. I've got both and they are all well used. Especially when its time to undo that pesky top nyloc nut for the shocks; try undoing that @#$^er with just a ratchet. If you manage to strip any sort of thread, clearly you are not supposed to hold any sort of tool...
  7. That extra thing on the sump near the drain is the oil temp sensor from the 280ZX. Looks like your 240 inherited several bits from the 280ZX! If you can invest in an air compressor and air "rattle gun", it'll make the job of removing the flywheel bolts and other things soooo much easier.
  8. Welcome rad, Great to see another early chassis on board! Mine's number 121 but I never had compliance plate fitted? Not even the holes were drilled to fit it..
  9. I have mine out of sight in the garage with another car in front with heaps of crap around it. Best security I had was with an older Wolf ECU for the EFI. It could be "locked" so there was no injectors fired or spark. Impossible to jump and even if you unplugged the computer, same thing. Its a shame they got rid of that function on later models.
  10. I'm going to miss seeing your zed Alan; Always looked immaculate! oh well...
  11. The DR30 LSD's aren't from the 40's, I've had one in my zed for the last 8-9 years with no issues. Just strip and check then install. No need for optional axles, just swap your original R200 bits and put them on the LSD then install.
  12. Peter,..I'll be able to do it... just give me the details...
  13. Missing engine / major rust repairs.... whats worse? I'd take the missing engine in a heartbeat!
  14. Not sure if they still do them, AdelaideJap importers wreckers were selling the DR30 LSD's for about $1k. Easiest to install without any real hassles. Just get a good ratio like 3.9 or 4.1. 4.75 is great for rock crawling...
  15. Hope to see you back again on the forums.....
  16. I wish... Sold on the behalf of someone else. I was going to buy them but ran out of funds. Looks like having a second set of wheels for myself is a luxury I have to do without!
  17. While we are here, I've always been curious about that Simpsons episode with "Mr Sparkle" and that picture...does it actually mean anything in that word bubble?
  18. As above, I have a set of four Rota wheels in a 16x8" with a +4 offset suitable for a zed. These are second hand but only used for a few drives. They are in excellent condition but just a bit dirty. One pictured but there are four! PM me or call / sms Oh413 243 76Oh Asking $650
  19. Sorry, some posts were removed... Can we think and have a bit of empathy before we hit the "Post" button? Daniel....please
  20. If I don't do it now, I'll forget all about it....here they are! The plate is ok from the top, but like the others I have are missing clips and both knobs are missing their grubs.
  21. I would use a test light over a digital multimeter; they can give false readings... Check the connections on your headlight switch..some do overheat and melt the solder holding the wires onto the switch itself.
  22. Same length, just on the 2+2 the strut top was about double the height but that is replaceable.
  23. I'll get some pics tonight...
  24. Are there any places nearby with CCTV overlooking roads that go near were you live? You might be lucky if they caught something?
