  1. I agree with Peter on this - that Jap Dyno must be reading high - no question that is a lot of engine with some big $$ parts (a custom billet 86mm stroke crank from AS-Watanabe - lots of head work going on there) but 369PS that head would have to flow 230cfm at the choke and more at the head so that is a big big ask - yes those flow numbers can be had at the head but to get 230cfm at the choke even with 50mm Mikuni's that is a lot of air required to get those numbers. So I am with Peter more like a 320hp setup.

    KHGC110 project

well I know here in NZ Toyo can supply the 235/50/15 in the R888 race tyre. That is what we are moving to on our S30's here well some of us anyway as they have a 245 footprint I believe if $$ is not an issue you can get 285/40/15 from Yokohama and I believe some have sourced 315/35/15 too. Then there is the TB5 from places like http://www.antiquetyres.com.au/ Update: these are the ones I was thinking about http://www.classic-tyres.co.nz/directory/page33.html Yokohama 345/35/15 overall dia = 610mm or about the same as 185HR14 aka stock 260z tyre which is 606mm Update #2: http://europeantechnique.com.au/michelin/Tyres/tb%2015.htm
  3. Looks great Rev, Is that a 76+ shell I spy? Like the black replacing the chrome.
  4. Very true the L6 heads are not an issue cc is Could a sleeved LD28 block with a L20B front cover be tall enough? Will need custom head studs as the LD28 head bolts are larger.
  5. "Number 5.0 is alive" for those born well before 1986
  6. Well it would not really be in the extra flow it would be in header and intake design improvements. And P90's are ok if you can get them, here in NZ they are like hen's teeth so we are doing very well with the N42 just need welding.
  7. Nice and with the cc to go with it as we know you can get enough flow from an L6 head with work/mods so the RB26 heads have more than enough for under 2800cc in NA form so all that extra cc will help alot
  8. If you were to replicate any head I would go for the LY FIA approved item. You would have a large market for those of us who have class rules to built to. Having the fia LY head would be gold.
  9. race gas only or pump gas?
  10. I posted about this build about 12+ months ago...will have to find the link again but I am sure it is on this site Update: here is the old thread http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=8760.0
  11. Re the comment about the first person to bring one into the country - I need to check one of the books I have here at home but I do recall an article about a Z432 in Australia - or was it an Australian who owned it in Japan...I will have have to find that article...will look for it now. Update: Ok that article was from a 1974 magazine - it was a Z432 owned by an ex-Australian Advertising Exec living in Japan, it was Chassis ID PS30-00017 and the colour was GP Racing Green aka 907 paint code. Not to say after 74 he could have returned to AU and imported the car. But it was located in Tokyo at the time the article was published.
  12. this is what you are after http://justmurph.com/pics/260z-rhd-wiring.jpg
  13. So that is the rub - Nissan did not supply the car - they campaigned the car but did not supply to a team in the form Jason needs. So non Nissan works teams had to purchase a stock S30 then add on the additional/optional parts. So much like an Australian V8 Super car today - the car is built not purchased like that. This is why so many in NZ like our T&C rules - take a car - fit any period part that was and can be proved via documentation, used on that make/model in period and you can use that part today - however over the years how people have taken the terms "free" out of context many cars are out side of these more flexible rules. So there is always going to be those that get away with more than others. I do think there is a bit of "it is Japanese" so we don't like it modified that kicks in. There are cars here in NZ that have taken thing like a one or 2 car special that was fitted with a DOHC/16v head on stay a Ford Pinto bottom end have some document that shows a DOHC 16V head was fitted but it does not show a photo of the head or have details like port design etc. So people now fits a YB DOHC 16V to a sudo pinto bottom end and call that the same - well no that head was not used in Period - yes a DOHC 16V but not a YB head so not sure how they get away with it.
  14. I would take a copy of said letter too if one is written - it would help with out Schedule K rules here in NZ - or at least Schedule CR no doubt.
  15. The American angle re what dealers were doing is a good one for spoilers also. Many dealers were installing BRE front and rear spoilers sourced from BRE directly. I know this as a fact as my mate Ricky with his BRE licensed tribute racecar has been told by Pete Brock (of BRE fame) his company was indeed supplying dealers with spoilers.
  16. thought you would like that, we used to have the undie $500 here in NZ rules were simple spend no more than $500 on a track car and race the crap out of it -safety items is were most of the $$$ went
  17. So as supplied by Nissan is enough - not as sold...just supplied by Nissan aka from the Manufacture aka Works supplied. So you just need documentation that shows the car was supplied by Nissan with these parts fitted - is that not what the FIA papers show they were the parts fitted to the S30 for competition and most of the parts were used on the works cars aka Nissan supplied vehicles - ok Works cars were not sold to the public like other marques might have done - however some have ended up in private hands.
  18. heard on the radio an interview with a Kiwi who left Christchurch as his family were in bit after all the shaking over there - moved to Melbourne and got that rattle the other day = all the heart ache of loosing everything came flooding back - not happy when a quake has emotionally scared you.
  19. How about this one
  20. I heard of guy here in NZ putting an Rx3 body on a Batman Rx7 Floor. Also there is an Escort Mk1 body on a cut down commodore floor that I have seen in flesh - lots of engine bay room now aka in goes a Lexus V8 for this Mk1 race car.
  21. yes I recall now - Auto's have R180's from the factory
  22. those lockers are illegal on the a road car here in NZ so not sure about AU. re the diff - The 2000cc version have R180 setups so you can get parts from them....well here in NZ we can as about 60%+ of the ZX imported from Japan into NZ were the L20E power versions.
  23. really here in NZ it is the other away around with 4.11 easier to fine and the 4.375 hard to find. The 4.6 is the hardest to get hold of. The 4.11 is the common diff to the RB20E cars and that is why we have so many here in NZ a lot of the R31 JDM imports are RB20E powered. All of the RB20D models (aka DOHC) have the RC43 installed. I find 4 to 1 of 4.11 vs 4.375 here in NZ.
  24. Not sure how many will be coming to NZ but there will be 6 different models available marketed as the GT86 by Toyota and BZR by Subaru. The first shipment is scheduled for July and 100 will hit our shores. Price is said to be between $40,000 and $50,000 NZD for the toyota Subaru is meant to be around $60,000 NZD and this is only the top model and 12 are coming by Dec of this year.
  25. Hmm front calipers don't look like R32 GTR calipers (non vspec as they have Brembo) to me look like R32 GTST type M items to me. This is what R32 GTR calipers look like
