The 3 inch systems have been built for both road & track Zeds. They have a deep, quiet 'burble' while allowing for full gas flow. And they sit up nice & high so they don't get caught on anything... We now have a jig for the 3 inch system which will allow time & cost to be reduced. We haven't 'jigged' a 2.5inch system, as we actually don't do many of them in that size, but if an interstate customer wanted one, I'm sure we could work something out Cost wise, it would be around the $1000.00 mark for a 2.5 inch system. Bare in mind, the systems we've built have been mated up to the SW Motorsport style extractors, so if you wanted to use a different style of header, we'd need the car. I don't know of anyone on Sydney who I can recommend, sorry. Maybe try SW Motorsport? In any case I'm happy to freight exhaust systems

You've obviously never dealt with a professional performance exhaust builder... And you've made some big assumptions in your post, too. I've built many 2.5 & 3 inch free flowing systems for Zeds in at LCR now, mostly made from stainless mandrel bends using quality stainless Mangaflow mufflers. Neither size 'drones' at any given RPM range - most are actually TOO quiet & more induction noise is heard when driving...! I'm more than happy to demonstrate this point by taking people for a ride in a customer's Zed fitted with one of these exhausts, at any time The Fujitsubo system is fine for a stock Zed, but there is no way I'd call it a performance exhaust. There is also fitment issues with it... It's horses for courses, but there are issues to be aware of...

Exhaust manifold leak, head gasket leak or it's dropped a valve seat (generally they sound worse though).

I was fairly positive that the heater core would beyond repair, hence the new core. I might take the old one into the radiator shop & see what they say.... Rudi: Harry (RIP) loved the Zed, but it seams (After talking with Gordon Dobie) he never really had the $ to maintain the Early Girl properly. Hence silly thing's like pop-riveted plates on the firewall...

After blowing the heater core at the 2014 PI 6-Hour, I decided to replace the core with one I bought from the US. Upon removing the cover off the side of the box I found all this debris: And the damaged core which took me the best part of 30mins to extract as it had corroded itself into the box... New Vs Old: Next I removed the plates that were riveted to the firewall to cover the rust: Eww... Tis a good time to fix that properly! More soon...

2+2 tank fits into a 240Z without any mods, but is only a litre or three bigger. IMHO you'd be better off getting a custom tank made if you want >20ltrs extra capacity.

Thanks Chaps After the PI 6-hour this year, the poor old L24 was quite sick (was overheating & pumping out coolant), so rather than risk further damage (it's matching numbers), I decided to pull it. I also sold the gearbox... And some other parts... The reasons for the dash removal is that I wish to tidy up some wiring, replace the blown heater core and perform some rust repairs to the firewall. Then respray the engine bay in body colour - gotta have a nice looking engine bay for the LCR L33! More details to come - including an engine build thread...

Looks like I won't be making it to this years Christmas BBQ...

They are a fantastic filter - excellent filtration with high air flow through the foam element. 'If' there is an induction fire (backfire) the foam filter is designed to release Co2 when burnt & extinguish the fire. I think you need your eyes checked mate. They look like a big foam condom & not 'stock' looking at all!

Gerry & Dave Castrechini - Presto Industries. As Craig mentioned a few posts back, Gerry heavily modified a 260Z airbox to work with the triple carbs on his 240K. While I'm sure all these airbox's works well with standard-ish engine setup's, they would be a restriction any serious HP L-series. It would be best to understand one's requirements before going off making something that may not be suitable...
