  1. Les has uploaded a few engine build photo's to FB, AND there is a new video...
  2. Welcome. Start a project/build thread in the appropriate section.
  3. This is my new 8.5kg billet flywheel, designed to accept a 240Z pressure plate. The pressure plate is being upgraded by Jim Berry to 2000kg clamping force with a Sachs organic friction plate. Will only have a marginal increase in pedal pressure. It will be going behind my new engine. I never even considered a twin plate - a cheap one will shit itself pretty quickly & the proper AP/Tilton items are too exxy and are a PITA on the street.
  4. For Sale: SWM 'Small Port' Extractors. Surplus to requirements. Suitable For engines up to 300hp. These were fitted to the L24 in my 240Z. 2-bolt flange welded to the exit (2.5"). Secondary's have surface rust only - (a quick wire bush & a coat of Hi-Temp paint will make them look good) - they are sound, no holes, cracks etc. These will NOT fit cars with SU / Hitachi carbs. Triple carb. applications only! Price: SOLD! (normally $1400 new!). Can freight at buyers expense. PM me here or CALL: Cheers, Locky.
  5. It's about the bling & impression ratio...
  6. Your sticking with the drums?!
  7. 2k wont get you squat. 1k will be in cylinder head repairs, welding up the damage (if it can be repaired!) K-lined guides with new valve seats fitted & re-cut (they'll be stuffed), milled, new steam seals, possibly new valves (expect the stems to be shot). 733A cam is around $250 & you can retain your original springs & lash pads. Don't bother with a 30yo old flogged out 280ZX / MR30 elec dizzy - they are more trouble then they are worth. Get a BRAND NEW Performance Ignition distributor - $800. Get is tuned PROPERLY by someone who KNOWS what they are doing. In the end, performance doesn't come cheap - how fast do you want to go?
  8. The OP's engine has been rebuilt previously - looks like something HM Engines did back in the day... Choung - you's has been milled & re-stamped!
  9. I had a brief look at Andrews Bus at the BBQ & we've discussed repairs via PM. At this stage I've advised him to repair the rust himself, get it on the road and then figure out what he wants to do. It's a 'Pandora's Box' unfortunately...
  10. Kev did an impressive write-up here: http://www.performanceforums.com/forums/showthread.php?67227917-KGC10-Hakosuka-Skyline/page118 Yes, not many Zeds...

    Head

Std 260Z L26 combo across the range.
  12. Just make one out of some 3-4mm Alum. plate, Matt.
  13. No, just make your own way to Como Park, Wayne.
  14. Why no just get an off the shelf set from Murray himself, rather that stuff around with those china made jobbies?
  15. Dat2kman is the current custodian on the 'Y'. And 'Portholes' in the Bluebird at the 1:48min mark - I need to ask Les if the LZ20 was it it at that time... Fun fact - that bluebird shell was a JDM shell that Nissan Motorsport had started to prepare for rallying, until they decided to go circuit racing in '84 instead.
  16. Mr Navi Sagoo & his 2+2 - powered by a LCR L33 (and I built the exhaust )
  17. Stay with it...
  18. That's a woefully incomplete sonic test. You need minimum on 120thou / 3mm left after final boring. That block 'might' be OK to bore to 89mm if you offset bore it, but the sonic test needs to measure the thrust faces as well... BTW, 10k wont get you far if you want to build a proper L30...
  19. Thanks to everyone who made it. Speaking with Gordo, we might make it a Sunday next year as it seams Saturdays are becoming more difficult for people to attend... https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BwrvvBAAhU2kQ2I2NEpYWWpYbUU&usp=sharing
  20. List updated - might be a bit quiet this year... See everyone tomorrow
  21. And here I was Zedhead, ready with my 'banning stick'... Yes, Champagne Poofter Carriage gets along OK... *cough* Was great to catch up with both new & familiar faces. Many thanks to PB for supplying the Bimmer, organizing the run & putting up with my sorry arse for the whole weekend...! Must beer it again some time...
  22. The story is Alan, that on this car, it did not fit well.
  23. Sensational.
