  1. That kit will cover all sizes on a Z, Gav. Also bear in mind that around 75% of the bolts used on a Z are still available from Nissan.
  2. Welcome Joe. That's actually a wide ratio, series 2 Bluebird gearbox. FWIW an R30 Skyline gearbox is a 'short box' & won't fit a in a Z.
  3. BBQ is warming up & the beer is flowing!
  4. Bump.
  5. Someone previously had incorrectly double roll-pinned the forks, which no amount of hitting with the pin punch would make them move. It was quicker & easier to cut the rails and replace them with spare rails & forks. FB kids did not understand / comprehend this...
  6. Today I learned not to post - what I find ironically humorous - photos on a Datsun page on the Book of Faces. The members lost their minds at this photo & called me an idiot.
  7. I recently bought 2 new replica 240Z washer bottles (one for a fellow AZC member & one for myself) from Mike McGinnis of Banzai Motor Works: http://zzxdatsun.com/ Mike was very easy to deal with - he actually responded to email, give a shipping quote & payment was made via Western Union (which although a bit more costly, is very easy to use both for the buyer & seller), and the items arrived in a week from making payment. Highly recommend! L.
  8. Genuine Nissan for the diff mount. Better brakes in mordiallic, Vic to rebuild your calipers.
  9. That just looks sensational Pete!
  10. Thinking about it, grooving a slick would mean reducing the tyres contact patch with the track surface, which equates to less grip. I'd seriously look at Tyre Siping Gordo, as the sipes don't remove material, but will make the rubber move agent each other generating more friction (heat) when your out on the track.
  11. No experience, but yes you can buy the tool for the job or take it to a company that does it. Perhaps give Russell Stucky a call to find out if he knows of anyone? Edit: I'd suggest 'siping' the tyres as apposed to grooving them Gordo.
  12. Correct. 40mm triple carbs are NOT suited to a warm L28. Sell them & buy some 45mm triples.
  13. LCR built L33 fed by triple 47mm OER's - about 340hp.
  14. Just get it media blasted.
  15. With that lift, Is the cam a works 72deg item? If so, STD valve springs will be fine.
  16. What was that fluff piece all about?
  17. Well I'm still perplexed why you cut them in the first place Yes you can weld them back together - I personally, wouldn't give it a second thought.
  18. I've got 1 - the long side. You can have it if it helps, Gav.
  19. This forum has a really good search function
  20. Do this first Gareth ^ Have the calipers been rebuilt? If you find that you have line pressure with the front brake hose crimped, then the pedal goes spongy when the clamp is removed, it means the calipers have been assembled incorrectly. Give me a call if this appears to be the case & I'l talk you through the solution.
  21. Sold to Impatient1.
  22. Yes - all L6s.
