  1. I think a small stretch looks fine (and often actually looks better, ie i think i'm running 225's on a 9", although the look depends a lot on the profile), however a large enough stretch that you can completely see the outer bead of the rims is getting a bit much and looks as sketchy as anything
  2. my bro had a st162 I used for a bit that had some weird looking newer 3sge in it, which had a flat cam cover (making it look like there was no room for cams) and seemed to be faster than the average 3sge. It was a bit of fun to drive as it had an exhaust, short shifter, cut springs, and a stupid sounding horn. I broke a drive shaft in it though...and the water pump... we also have a broken st165 sitting in the garage next to my zed, i'm trying to convince my dad to part with it...
  3. i'm 99% sure you can use one off a VL
  4. Hey John, I have a 01/76 260z 2 seater (I assume the one for testing needs to not be one of the last ones, as there's the early 260z's which are the 240z chassis, and there's a later ones which are the 280z chassis and had vented bonnets? and therefore there's the ones inbetween which are actually 260z's? (along with two slightly different 2+2's?) or have i confused myself?) which I'm planning to put a turbo rb in sometime in the next couple of years (either 26 or 30/25/26 etc, will work out which one later on depending on emissions, power, and how much i want to waste etc), but i'm sure it would be helpful for me to get the car logged as an ongoing project so i can get in under the current regulations, either way I'd be happy to help The issue would be, while my car is currently close enough to complete (the front panels and bumpers are off it), it's not registered and i'm not confident it would currently move/stop under its own power as it hasn't been started for a couple of years
  5. I'd be keen in that John, particularly in seeing how to lower high points, the last panel i was trying to get perfect i couldn't get rid of a couple of high spots (i assume i need to hammer them down a bit?)
  6. Yep, cool, i'm out, although i have enjoyed the local flash flooding!
  7. I'm going to try to make it, from memory this cruise is part of another car club yeah? if so, which one is it?
  8. Hey guys, i'm still very much unable to commit...as I managed to basically run out of money last month so am trying to get a bit of a buffer back
  9. I'll be there, but may not get down there till closer to 7
  10. my zed has the 'darkest legal tint' on it - the other way to stop the heat through the rear window would be louvers, i've got some if you want them?!?
  11. i'm gonna try to get along to the vicimports meet tomorrow, anyone else?
  12. Kyle was a great guy who could be trusted. Extremely sad to find this out while simply relaxing and browsing the net, can't imagine how his family and closer friends are coping sad that this is proof of how easy it is to hide whats really going on in anyones mind. i only hope he didn't feel like his car was the only reason any of us valued his company
  13. were they ceramic? ...or is vic the only state with ceramic plates?
  14. bbooooooo, i would have bought them, mine are nearly down to the indicators now
  15. I'm planning to come along, not with the zed though
  16. I hope people aren't going to pull out if the sky opens up over night!?! the forecast for melbourne is "Areas of rain easing to isolated showers around dawn before clearing by midday. A dry afternoon to follow with sunny periods. Winds south to southwesterly averaging up to 30 km/h"
  17. thanks, turns out my mate just bought a car from sydney so am driving it back with him this weekend along with my fender, if anyone would like small items brought back i'm more than happy to try to help!
  18. i'm interested in tagging along in my lesser nissan - i should chuck datsun badges on it for a laugh! if accom works out to be around $100 i'd be keen, if not might just make it a day trip my fav part of the great ocean road is the bit just after apollo bay where it goes inland, last time i did it in the zed the battery dislodged and slid across hitting the engine!
  19. a 240 off speedhunters...never been a big fan of that rear wing, but its still making me drool edit: crap its not off speedhunts...lol
  20. ...anyone able to bring a fender down from sydney for me?
  21. as much as this pains me, i can't make it :'( I'd organised tickets for a yearly event, only knowing it was on a saturday, and turns out its tomorrow - and i've piked on it the last 2 years so i should really go thanks for putting it on, and offering your services everyone! hopefully this, or something similar, happens again
  22. Are they black or chrome?
  23. WRX would get my vote too, pretty much the perfect compromise. If you want something bigger there's legacy gt-b's... But if you want something old school: KE70's are awesome if you put some money into them C110 skylines have potential, specially since a fair few zed bits could be used on them
  24. if that sale falls through i'm interested. i believe you live close by to me
