    R200 diff

I have the r200 out of my manual 260z 2 seater - i believe its a 3.7, but I haven't pulled off the cover to check
  2. ROH 3 peice wheels should cost less than that for a set?
  3. from memory when my orginal one seized i was going to get one off a vl from the local wreckers - they are all pretty standard stud pattern and size from what i could see...but i ended up doing a thermo fan
  4. 3m VHB tape is nuts, its used for mounting aluminium panels onto the exteriour of buildings (on the buildings where you can't see any fasteners) and in strong winds they claim it will bend a 25x25mm section subframe its mounted to before the tape lets go
  5. i'd be interested to attend, and my zed is a need of a few 'small' rust sections if you need a car to do examples on at all in the next couple of years! i do miss it, the s15 is only half the car...(get it?)
  6. you will probably find this site/area quite useful http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/forum/31-nissan-rb-forum/?s=f30cf0c4056903fca1507efa21f3ce8f the biggest issue is probably the sump (as the 200zr one is no longer availible) and gearbox mounts depending on how you want to do it. Castlemaine rod shop sell a kit, which i currently have one of sitting around, although i'm not the biggest fan of how they do the gearbox mount but will see what happens when the time comes And i assume RBZ260 meant; 'Problem is (US) guys have the steering wheel on the wrong side which complicates things as the twin turbos are on the same side'
  7. the only issue i had changing to fender mirrors besides getting used to it for the first time when changing from a car without them - same as going from a car with indicators on the wrong side - was that its impossible to checkout anything that you've just driven by in them as the reflectioin is just to small for any real detail. But it includes heaps more in it so you never need to head check, as in a zed you hardly have to anyway
  8. Fwiw lurch the black mirrors are off 240z's, the chrome ones are about an inch shorter and off a 1600 or something, but are interchangable and commonly put onto zeds. I have the chrome ones and due to my height the passenger side wiper starts to block the pass side mirror, but not enough to be an issue - particularly for u!
  9. Awesome find Gav, looks awesome. I'm not sure if I'd still flare my car if I hadn't already - the stock lines really are nice. My thoughts were if I wanted to go back I'd be happy enough with guards like the awesome 20b featured car has
  10. good work lurch! in the first photo it looks like it had both fender and normal mirrors? (and not the normal fender mirrors either?) i vote you find some orginal 240z mirrors. do you know how many kms the chassis has on it? looks very nice
  11. It looks to wet to me
  12. The dr honda civic would have cost atleast double that, but is still impressive
  13. i'm interested as have been hanging to go on a drive for a bit and need an excuse, but will have to wait and see what else the weekend throws at me if i'm coming and running late i'll give you a call lurch - now do i bother putting the semi's back on if i do come :-\
  14. It's behind you Tyrone. Whenever you reverse, things come from behind you.
  15. isn't datrat's meant to be where its at?
  16. hey mate, goodluck with the sale. Here's a pic of it from down in tassie, i need to get off my ass and upload them all... edit: woohoo i can vaugely remember html
  17. welcome, you would be better off starting with a car like this http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,6711.0.html than one half its price, unless you are keen to do your own rust repairs?!?
  18. i say go for it gav, seems like the perfect time to buy one considering your circumstances. my house mate's a mechanic and has a nice fc, and ofcourse would really like to 'upgrade' to an fd. whenever i ask him about its realiability he says its the same as any other performance car and you just have to look after it with oil changes to protect the seals, but i've heard the 80,000-100,000km thing before. it however does go through more petrol than his old 70's v8 statesman! i quickly consider an fd, but figured as i needed a semi daily, a silvia was a cheaper and less risky option. there was a bathurst r sitting an importers was checking out, and the guy was complaining that he'd pushed someone into the car opposite it, and they had rebounded off it and landed on the FD, putting a massive dent in it due to how thin all the panels are to reduce weight, where the car he was pushed into was fine! and he was saying that without their undercar bracing they twist like anything, and he'd imported an accident damaged car that one of his customers really wanted, and he said you could put your head inbetween the door and b pillar! ...where will the surf board go? gangsta roof racks?
  19. you should probably put a dollar value on your gtr too so people can work out the rough cash adjustment fwiw its pretty rare for an rbz to be up for sale, yet alone to find someone who would swap one for a gtr (as afterall they most likely built the rbz instead of buying a gtr in the first place)
  20. that would turn some heads! are there advantages to a twin system? or just the sound? (riceer? ) i love the look of the factory twin verticle pipes...
  21. you deserved it they should also remove all telephone poles...lol on another note it would be nice if people were fined for parking in clearway's and turning right when there is a flashing sign telling them not to do so - theses are the people who are going to cause accidents a few years ago i was pulled over in the zed and told off for taking the car close to its redline (a side street near my house where i often couldn't b bothered changing gears and changing back again in the space of 15metres as required)...they threatened me with 'loss of traction' as they said they heard the tyres chirp (it had just started raining and it was from a t interesection which was covered in bricks), and ended up giving me a canery with rwc for bald tyres (tried explaining that i was aware they had just gone below the indicator, and i was planing to buy new ones in a few days time after my exams had finished - they wouldn't have a bar of it), although i've seen heard that they have to sight two things in order to be able to tick the rwc box? i'm waiting to be discriminated against in my new car, and when possible i'm driving my xgf's much more unroadworthy '90s hatchback - its nice to be able to pull up next to cops and not have to worry because of their stupid stereo types!
  22. did the car come with a roadworthy? only reason i ask is i bumped into the previous owner round the corner from my work, at a workshop having it looked over for a roadworthy - and told him to advertise it on this site! will the 6pot's fit under those wheels? i reakon the car would look nice with the bonnet vents painted black
  23. yep, at $1400 a set everyone would have them! one day when i'm feeling rich i'd love a set in the solid gunmetal colour... ...hope you dont run out of tissues
  24. i thought datrats were meant to be about the best around. would be intereste to know if they'd work on an r200 (ie when changing from an r180 do u have to change the half shafts?) http://www.datrats.com.au/Gearbox%20&%20Diff.html
