aidannn Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 just some arita speed zeds to keep you on track. Quote
Riceburner Posted July 14, 2011 Author Posted July 14, 2011 Thanks Aiden, I love the Spirit Garage ZG as well. I'll still be dreaming for a while as the parts aren't ready to be shipped just yet, Also to start with I won't be running flares cause my 16x8's with 225's won't be up to filling out those gaurds I could run spacers but they wouldn't inspire confidence on track! Riceburner Posted August 24, 2011 Author Posted August 24, 2011 New G-nose has arrived, so I'll start pulling front end apart this weekend and do some trial fitting, it'll probably take a few goes to get it fitting ok. Also picked up some dog leg frame rails from Tom, these will get fitted when I get Lurch to do the other metal work...... Please Lurch Should make for a stiffer chassis and better feedback when driving hard. Quote
Riceburner Posted September 9, 2011 Author Posted September 9, 2011 Have been fiddling around with panels and the new front end a bit, It's certainly not perfect as the ricey isn't the squarest.... Anyway just a few teasers. It's only a few panels bolted on so far, although I am surprised it not as much work as I thought it would be. Famous last words....... Quote
peter mc Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 mmm ricey is getting faster all the time nice work mate Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted September 9, 2011 Moderators Posted September 9, 2011 Gareth, is there a lower lip spoiler that bolts on? similar to the pics above? Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted September 9, 2011 Administrators Posted September 9, 2011 Where did you get the Gnose from? This will look good when it's all together, the Gnose is very unique and under appreciated by many. It really gives the car more of a Ferrari style to it. Very 60's exotic metal. *edit seek and thou shall find "Arita Speed" Quote
Roberto Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Looks good. What colour scheme will you be going with? Quote
Riceburner Posted September 10, 2011 Author Posted September 10, 2011 Thanks guys. I'm going white top half and BMW 087 metallic charcoal on the lower piece and bumper. I have a small spoiler but may not use it as I'm running quite low already. Dimitri, I think the cars in those pics have the works type B kit on them, a similar spoiler is available to run with or without the flares. Z car customs has a similar one. I hope the 5mph top speed story is true! Lol Quote

Lol Like your styling, should look really effective with the break in color and take some of the balk away visually making for a much sharper slimmer appearance Quote
Riceburner Posted October 8, 2011 Author Posted October 8, 2011 Off with the drivers door today and up to 'Lurch's one stop datsun shop' for repairs to the door skin and frame, it doesn't look too bad but the picture is very deceiving. Also going to get rid of the door mirror as I have the fender type fitted. Whoa those doors have quite a bit of weight in them Maybe I sould remove the passenger side too..... Thats gotta help the lap times! Still waiting to work out paint shedule for the G-nose, I'll have to do the doors, maybe quarters too. I'm a little bit bummed that it's been on blocks for six weeks, itching to give it a loooong drive and hear it singing at 7k. Think I might have Z withdrawals..... Quote
peter mc Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Gareth mate this car just gets better and better well done mate i look forwad to seeing it at the track Quote
Riceburner Posted October 9, 2011 Author Posted October 9, 2011 Thanks Pete. It's all pretty slow going at the moment. Quote
Agno Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Is that a Cobra Monaco Pro I spy as the driver's seat? I was looking at one myself... How do you find it? I'm a bit worried it will be a bit on the small side for me Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted October 9, 2011 Administrators Posted October 9, 2011 Is that a Cobra Monaco Pro I spy as the driver's seat? I was looking at one myself... How do you find it? I'm a bit worried it will be a bit on the small side for me +1 - I was looking at them for the FD rx7 because they are thin enough for cars like the S30 and FD3S. Also tend to be cheaper than the Recaro's and Sparco's. How do you find the quality of them etc..? Quote
Riceburner Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 I tried sparco's and they weren't as comfortable & more expensive. The cobra's have been great, they are made of a much harder wearing material and have extra heavy duty material on the shoulder and hip edges where they wear the most. I definately recommend them. I tried the Suzuka but had to go to a large size and then the shoulders hit the doors. I'm 6ft3, 100kg's and fit the standard size Monaco pro, it's fairly snug on the hips but that's the whole point I think. Revolution race gear sells them and they have test seats on display for you to sit in. I found these to be the widest seat shoulders I could fit without having to offset the seat a fair way towards the tunnel. Quote
Riceburner Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 Got the type 'B' front spoiler today, complete with eight cracks :'( It has the stifness of Rolf Harris' wobbleboard and looks to be pretty much useless. I have shipping insurance so hopefully I'll get my money back, but I'd rather have the spoiler Quote
C.A.R. Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Bring it down! I can 'glass' it back up for you! Quote
Riceburner Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 I might take you up on the offer mate. My painter wants a look as he also does some fibreglass work too. Just a bummer cause we are painting the new bits this weekend Quote
zr240 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 If i fix it can i make a copy for my car Ash Quote
Riceburner Posted November 5, 2011 Author Posted November 5, 2011 Ok, so I'm painting panels in stages atm. I have the top section of the G-nose done. Still have to do the lower section. I laid the covers up againts them today and I'm really happy with how they look. I also did some prep work on the front guards and they are now also ready for paint. Quote
