peter t
Metallic and what a bitch to paint for a first timer. It ain't perfect but will do me for a few years. Looks plain in the shade but in sun really sparkles.
peter t
Went out and spent some more of the wife's money. Got me a set of Superlites and rubber that fit. This is no race car so went for 15x6 with 205x60x15 rubber and man I am just loving it. The wife is happy too, Gone shopping and spending time with grandson. Shit I hope she comes home. But then I will really be in the sh@@@t up to my neck. Hope someone buys the Rota's soon, 15x8 in the for sale section. 8)
Brabham
Hey Pete, was that green a factory color or one of your own choosing? If one of your own choosing, what is it off? Love the interior too. Cheers.
peter t
Not sure on factory colour. I was this colour when I bought it and had new paint mixed to match by MPA. Too many red and yellow and orange Z's out there so wanted to be different. Very few Z's painted BRG and have always have been a fan of this colour. BRG can be any shade although we usually assume it has to be dark. My mate has a Jag in similar colours inside and out and I have 2"Jag SU carbs so he calls it the JAGZ. At least I am still alive and have my dream car.

DatsunZebedi
Great work Peter. I'm also doing up a 2+2 in Melbourne. I love the beige/cream interior, very neat- similiar to what I'm aspiring towards. Beautiful car. Looking foward to seeing it completed. peter t
Getting close to finish now. Fitted the console, radio etc today. Headlights are in, waiting for spoiler and bumper rubbers to turn up. Took a shot of grandson in his first time in the Z. Pulled the front parker etc lights apart and cleaned ready to go in when the spoiler arrives. Can't wait to go for a drive.
peter t
Getting closer and closer to rego. All the little things that take time like fixing the grill and painting the same. Pulling the parker lights apart and fixing but I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. A lot things like fitting new bumper rubbers, painting and fitting the spoiler, painting badges can wait a while longer. Next is get it running a bit better, Rough wheel align, check all nuts and bolts underneath, brake bleed, roady and off to the transport dept. As I am out of town next week I am hoping to be on the road in the next two months.

peter t
Fitted the bar to the PU spoiler today and will play around with fitting tomorrow. Then I will paint it ready for rego. Amazing how when you get to the end of your project on this site no one seems to give a shit about your posts anymore.
luvemfast
What have you glued onto the PU spoiler and why? Did I miss something? Looking good. You must be getting itchy feet

Sirpent
Hey Peter, We all become self obsessed at times and forget to look at the other guys efforts, so yeah pointing the finger at myself. You've done a comendable job on her Mate and to answer Simon's question, unless I'm wrong, I spy a tube of Sikaflex urethane. Cheers John

luvemfast
to answer Simon's question, unless I'm wrong, I spy a tube of Sikaflex urethane. The question is about the bar more so than the method. I can only assume it's a bit of aluminum to reduce the PU flex at speed?
peter t
The question is about the bar more so than the method. I can only assume it's a bit of aluminum to reduce the PU flex at speed? Yep it is a piece of aluminum to take the woop out of the wobble board and yes it is sikaflex. Got this idea from steveo's build thread. And thanks guys for looking you really are still out there.
