Well I have been a bit slack lately with work on the car with all the rain up here and of course work. Anyway a couple of good bits turned up this week from TTT and with the $ at the moment being so good it is a good time to get parts from the US of A.  ;D

Looking good there Pete!

To follow up on Pete's PM, nolathane is the best option for mounting these arms. Solid mounting is too rough on old steel. The rods use the same nolathane mounts as the original zed rods, so whatever the part number is for nolathane tc mounts for a zed is, thats the mounts to use. Nice, easy, convenient. Like al TTT parts, designed as Oem replacements as a direct swap.

Great news. I resprayed the front guards, bonnet etc to day and got the best match up for a novice painter. Last time I used a different brand of thinner so I got a new batch of paint mixed and used the same thinner as last time at the same ratio and bingo. Has to be slightly rubbed yet and some more clear applied but I am over the moon with the result. Was expecting to rub the whole lot back and start again but you can get lucky sometimes. ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Dave, now all I have to do is get the trimmer to turn up and finish his bit. After that install headlights etc., bumper, check and tighten all bolts etc under car, roady and rego, tune up and off we go for a drive. 8)

Fitted some inside bits today and am really happy with the result. Going to be bitch to keep clean so will have to invest in some disposable overalls for anyone who wants to sit in it.  ;D

Geeze Pete.

I'm a serious shade of green (with envy), looks fantastic!

All About Trimming at Slacks Creek. Takes time though if he doesn't have the car in his workshop. It is only a side line from his main work with mobile homes.

Thanks mate now I have to find some tyres to fit the rims. Ordered 15x7 but as Ben cancelled all orders and had 15x8 left over at a unbeatable price I grabbed them. What does other people with 15x8 run on there wheels? Will have to some research. 8)

Looks awesome Peter white is my favorite of the zed interior colors. Are your armrests the originals? I have seen white armrests as well, not sure if they were an option or what. Cheers.

Arm reats are original colour, Just need to wack a bit of armoral  on them to make them shine. Some of the chrome bits need to be redone by that can be wait untill later on. Need something to do when I retire in about ten years time. ;D

Surprise surprise. The trimmer turned up today to finish the car. Glued the trim on the tunnel and has only the sun visors to do and with a lot of luck he is bringing them back tomorrow. Can't complain too much as it is a cash job and not his bread and butter work. He has done a great job though and not at a great cost. ;D

Interior almost finished. Fitted seat belts today. Fronts are good. Backs not so good. Will have to see  what can be done but who is going to sit in the back anyway. Back seat in and drivers seat. Have to put the passenger side together yet and chuck it in. Another week on hols yet and who knowes, might be on the road soon. Can't wait after nearly 3 years. Have two working clocks so I will fit one in and keep the other for a spare. Cost $120.00 to get them working. Great feeling just to sit in it and pretend I am out on the road. Hoping for some fine weather to lay a couple more coats of clear on the front then fit the lights, bar and grill then we are off to get it reg. ;D ;D

Looking good Peter, that white interior really looks great now it's finished.

Where did you source the trim from? Did you buy it as a kit, or did your trimmer have a source?

Cheers.

Thanks mate. The trimmer just used top quality vinyl and matching leather and copied the original stitch lines. It is not pure white, but like the original off white Datsun colour. I am real happy with the result. The carpet is a drop in kit that come out of my parts car and is almost brand new. I have ordered a new console from the US of A just to top it off. The old one is broken in a few places and would look crusty amonst all that nice new leather and vinyl. 8)
