zzzzed Posted December 25, 2012 Author Posted December 25, 2012 Each trip gets longer and longer. Chris is bringing me some tires up in a week or to so I will be able to go even thurther. I have an issue with my brand new Bosch o44 it is making funny noises. So I may have to revise my fuel system. Quote
Ledge Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 Hi Mick How have you set up the pump, Do you have surge tank etc. Cheers Paul Quote
zzzzed Posted December 25, 2012 Author Posted December 25, 2012 I have a carter feeding a surge tank from the main tank. Then the Bosch 044 feeding the injectors from the surge tank. I need to shift the surge tank before I fit the r200 because the r200 mustache bare will not clear the surge tank Quote
Ledge Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 Is the 044 lower than the feed line that goes to it from the surge tank They normally only make weird noises when dry or sucking in aerated fuel Quote
zzzzed Posted December 25, 2012 Author Posted December 25, 2012 Yeh the pump is lower than the tank but it does sound like it is running dry. Ill put more fuel in it tomorrow just to make sure it's not out of fuel. Quote
zzzzed Posted December 26, 2012 Author Posted December 26, 2012 I managed to get the boost gauge' temp and fuel gauges working today. I think I need to swap senders for the oil pressure gauge because I could bring no life to it. The amp gauge is working fine. Speedo is working fine. All I did for the speedo was unscrew the electronic sender from the rb20det box and screw the standard speedo cable straight in and bobs your unkle it works. I will sort out the tachometer another day after I have sorted out a few more important tasks. I took it for a drive again it is starting to feel much stronger. It was hitting 12psi boost and holds it well. It is driving well but there is much more improvement to be had yet. Mick Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted December 26, 2012 Moderators Posted December 26, 2012 So it should be fine for the Nationals? hmmm? Quote
zzzzed Posted December 26, 2012 Author Posted December 26, 2012 maybe but i still have trim to go yet Quote
zzzzed Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 My first attempt at upholstery. Ther is room for improvement. But not to bad for a first go. It is not glued down yot so it shold look better then Me at work Quote
Ledge Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Good job Mick. I can see why you didn't get it perfect , You weren't wearing a skirt ;D Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted December 31, 2012 Administrators Posted December 31, 2012 Good effort on sewing mate. At least your giving it a shot. I wouldn't mind learning to sew for interior mods but also for doing custom clothing . Perhaps Lurch would feel better if there was a bottle of open beer in that second pic Quote
Ledge Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Tinpot have you got a selection of funny Little clips in a folder on your desktop just Waiting for the perfect time to be planted On someones thread. Cause mate you have been on fire recently. Quote
Sirpent Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Mick Dont worry about Lurch, maybe he can learn how to sew from you and in return he can show you how to paint your nails, does a pretty good job LOL And yes Locky, I know, anyone needing hair straightening lessons PM me LMAO Quote
zzzzed Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 Water off a ducks back guys. Hehe I think If I had a propper industrial sewing machine it may be easyer. I will fit these sections up to the car And if they look like shit, then I will rip them off and send away to the states for I kit. But I am happy that I gave it a go. Quote
Sirpent Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Mick I think the only word of advise would be to sew everything inside out leaving 1 cm of material from each section, then flatten each section and run another seam across each inside out. That would give you a propper upholstered finish. Quote
zzzzed Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 Gee!! Words of advice now I have finished yeh that's basically what I did. I pulled the original bits apart and used them as a pattern. Then I copied the way they were stitched. I was probably a bit brave using colored thread on my first attempt, but I wanted it to match the seat trim. Quote
reverendzed Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Mick just remember mate that my guy is back from Hols mid Jan and we can get everything started for you. Happy New Year mate (Cuz) Rev. Quote
