zzzzed Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Hi all As the title says rbz260 has been talking about this site a bit so I thought I would come check it out. About what I have I am building a 1973 240z which is currently upside down on a rotisserie in my shed I am keeping it l series but it will be injected and turboed. I have already collected some goodies such as p90 turbo head and turbo exhaust manifold, some wilwood 4 piston callipers and rotors, some low king springs. I have had the dash recovered through rear spares. So far the project is young but I will keep you all posted on my progress. I also have a z31 California that I will be doing some work to in the feature Here are a few pics for you all Quote
Mr240z Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Hi zzzzed sweet project and nice ride & welcome to our zed family, Hope we can be of help and enjoy this cool group of guys and girls(if any) The Sydney Zed boys Pauly Quote
sco_aus Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Welcome mate, wicked collection, look forward to seeing more of it. Quote
zzzzed Posted November 29, 2008 Author Posted November 29, 2008 thanx guys I feal welcom already. I have spoted a couple of people i know from other forums hi there mr,camoflarge Quote
luvemfast Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Looks like a good project. 240 looked pretty good in the first pic to start with, so it should come off pretty awsome with your plans. I like the Z31 wide body. Has less wedge shape, and are the guards pumped out on them? Quote
zzzzed Posted November 29, 2008 Author Posted November 29, 2008 yes the z31 California has wider Gard's than the earlier z31 an much smother lines. My 240z was fairly neat on the out side but the interia was rough as guts, I am changing the paint colour to wr blue Quote
RBZ 260 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Hi Mike good to see you stumbling here as well. now hurry up and do some work on the 240Z . needs to be finished by next cruise. ( i know i wish) we need to catch up to VIC and NSW in number of early Z. post in classifeds for those parts you still need. im sure someone has something laying around and willing to help you. Quote
zzzzed Posted November 30, 2008 Author Posted November 30, 2008 Done by next cruise ha ha ha!!! I thought I was going to have it done by next mb auto fest. I did manage to get my front struts painted up last week; The last meet gave me a bit of inspiration. Yes I think us south ozzys must be too lazy or sit home and smoke to much weed or something I do still need a driver’s side door trim in the near feature I am not quite ready for it yet though Quote
zzzzed Posted November 30, 2008 Author Posted November 30, 2008 I finaly got a chance to do a bit more on the zed last week. I have started to clean and paint up the suspension. One question? do i have the spring in the cradle the right way around in this picture? Quote
sco_aus Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 mmmmm, Wilwood, orrrghhha. One day... Looks good mate. Quote
zzzzed Posted December 24, 2008 Author Posted December 24, 2008 I got the package for $1300 and that was for, 2 pair of front rotors 1 pair of rotor hats 1 pair of 260z hubs (for the offset) 1 pair of wilwood calipers 1 pair of adaptor brackets assorted nuts and bolts for fitments. Considering the price of brembos this is very affordable Quote
C.A.R. Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 If that's from AZC, it's not affordable any more... Quote
zzzzed Posted December 24, 2008 Author Posted December 24, 2008 I am not sure where they came from. Chriss fergesson brought them over for me. He also had a few sets of real nice light waight adjustable trailing arms he was tempting me with, but i controled my self and left them with him. after all my 240 is going to be a road car not a race car. Quote
zzzzed Posted February 6, 2009 Author Posted February 6, 2009 I recived a turbo rocker cover today for the 240z. I am going to strip it back and re do it with red wrinkle paint Quote
zzzzed Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 I visited Melbourne on the week end to pick up my new motor thanks to john Its a l20et, I will be running this as stock in the 240z while i am building up the l28et then it will more than likely end up in the 260z 2 seater. I would also like to thank Jane for showing me around Melbourne. I would have been lost with out her Quote
C.A.R. Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 And you didn't let us know you were comming?! Very disappointed Mick... P.S. Because of this, I've now taken you off my Xmas card list. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted May 5, 2009 Moderators Posted May 5, 2009 Hmmmm..you know now I have to steal that distributor off you....where abouts do you live? Quote
sco_aus Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Sorry Lurch, it was just a quicky... The sexual inyourendo never ends around here, its great. Quote
Sirpent Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Zed I may have a spare................. And they didnt tell the hole story, Mick must have a need for speed and a sense of direction based on lingering hi-octane fumes, they were supposed to take the turn off on the Calder at keilor Melton road but kept going till they reached the BP station at Calder Park raceway. I get a call saying we are at the BP on the Calder and are just sorting out our directions, so I jump in the car to meet them there, its a wonder they didnt get a hankering to try out old Bob's track while they waited for me. Luckily I guess Mick was in an old LPG Triton, if it was one of the Zed's I doubt he waould have passed up the opportunity. LMAO Quote
