zzzzed Posted August 28, 2010 Author Posted August 28, 2010 Every thing is fixable. You just have to work out if it is worth the effort Quote
zzzzed Posted August 28, 2010 Author Posted August 28, 2010 sorry lurch. Its the hatch shell where the outer skin folds over at the rear , if that makes sense So you can emagine what the skin looked like. It might look a bit confusing because in that photo it is cut out and i am holding it in my hand Quote
zzzzed Posted August 28, 2010 Author Posted August 28, 2010 just to add, It is the underside panel you can see in the first panel but i didnt cut the hole in the new panel yet Quote

zzzzed Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 I dont want you all to think i am slacking off so i shall show you were i am up to. I have fitted all the panels to the car so to see how they fit.. I have fond that the front end is out of square by about 5 mm so i am going to take it to work in the next few weeks to put it on the rack. I am just waiting for a guy to come pick up his car from work so i have the room In the mean time i shall be getting the removable panels ready for primer There will be more youtube in a couple of days Quote
Roberto Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Looking good Mick What measurements did you make to determine your front end is out?? Quote
zzzzed Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 just basic cross measurements from factory bolt holes on the bulk head to the strut towers. I only used a tape measure, but when i get it to work i will use a Tremal gauge Quote
zzzzed Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 My drivers side window mechanism is well worn and needs replacing I was playing around with a vs commodore window at work the other week and i thought "Hey that mechanism looks familiar" so i stole it and took it home for a comparison "i hope that customer dosnt wind down his passanger window :?" check out the right one in the pic is from my 240z and the left is commodore Quote
Sirpent Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Damn good observation there Mick, the scissor arms look very close in size and swing, you will have to keep everyone up tp date on this one, mine are also a bit poor. By the way, do you think the power window pack on the VS could fit into the "Z" door shell if it was all to work? Cheers John Quote
zzzzed Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 i think the power window pack should fit withj no drama I think i can get this to work even if i have to cut and shut the scissor arms to get them the right length Quote
