Administrators gav240z Posted May 26, 2018 Author Administrators Posted May 26, 2018 Interesting, I reckon credit is much tighter at the moment, so may have something to do with it? I sent an inquiry in about finance just to see what kind of interest rate it would be, and the bloke told me another fella in Lane Cove had asked about finance on the same vehicle. (could have been 1 of the previous owners ). I was worried it would get sent abroad, hopefully it stays local. Quote

Well, I just took the 240 for the first drive in 7 months on one of my favourite roads and I have to say no amount of money will ever buy this car. I feel nervous when I haven't driven her for a while as no modern car needs to be caressed like this one to be driven smoothly, once all the fluids are warm it does not take long to remind me how fucking great 240z's are. The noise that comes from the back of the car when you lift of the power is like nothing I have ever heard in any other car. The balance when you have when flat in 3rd gear through twisting country roads is intoxicating. No amount of money can replace them. PS: I've seen your car and level of detail / quality of build. Few and far between at that level. RAP260 1 Quote

Yea, sure she's only a 2+2 and I'm only 30k+ in so far, and I'll probably be in 60k+ by the end. Still going to drive it every day. I've owned a number of cars over the years, including a new Zed. But nothing can beat the smell, the sound, the interior view, or the feel of these cars. Puts a huge smile on my face every time I drive it... Which is every day Cheers, Rob The moral of the story.... Drive your bloody cars.. NO POINT OWNING THEM OTHERWISE... Edited May 27, 2018 by RAP260 Quote

Partially sandblasted which uncovered a lot of rust and hidden nasties. I do not have the time or the patience to take on this level of restoration. Please note......she needs a lot of work! Has had accident damage to LH sill wheel arch area and has been repaired badly. Creasing evident forward of and around LHR strut tower. Accident damage to LHF also repaired badly. Floors, sills, engine rails, wheel archs, battery area, upper firewall, etc rusted and or previously repaired badly. Basically rust in all the common 240Z areas. Bonnet has mild damage to nose area and also rusted along edges. Doors aren't in to bad shape. Rear hatch (vented) may require work, front guards only require lower repair sections. Interior is in poor condition. Still has original wood steering wheel. Only things I'm aware of that are missing are 1 x door window, windscreen and carbies. All other parts have been in boxes for 9+ years. Any questions feel free to call or message me 07 4948 1093 or 0403 024 254. More photos on request. Vehicle located in the Whitsundays and would require a ute and trailer to take away all the parts. Cannot be freighted." gav240z 1 Quote

alvis36 Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 This Z was restored by Chris Pilling of Spraydat tel 0407302475. It was his personal car. I have had two cars restored by Chris and he does very good work. However, Chris sold this Z some time ago and I think there is a not so good story of what happened subsequently. I genuinely feel sorry for an owner of this car trying to sell it. So many fraudsters have used photos of it that I see an ad for it for sale and have a Nigerian Prince response ! This one looks like the real deal this time and a different set of photos at least. Quote
