Hey guys

Today I headed out to All Metal Bumpers and picked up all the newly chromed bumpers, door handles, drip rails, door window moulds and rear quater glass moulds. Very happy with the quality of work. Only need to send back one rear quater mould to get a small dent out and tighten up. One of the inner brackets was rusted out so I had them all replaces but one corner is not sitting flush due to bracket shape.

I will add more pictures of the chrome work later on. Just tight on time ATM

Also had the drivers inner and outer rear guards put in. Tomorrow the passenger door skin will get put in and realigned.

Coming along progressively. Just not sure if I should get a new reproduction bonnet......

How bad is the existing bonnet?

Hey mate

I will take some pictures and put them up hopefully tomorrow. Front nose is crumbled like a can and it has a hole cut out for a air scoop.

Looking very good, can't wait to see this one all come together. Keep at it and keep the pics coming.

Cheers Jeff

Hmmm borderline, patching the naca duct will probably be harder than the corners.

Depends what they are going to quote you to fix the existing bonnet?

Probably quicker and cheaper to replace, but reproduction bonnets need a bit of tweaking to fit correctly (in my personal experience).

Hey Guys

Finally managed to unwrap the newly chromed bumpers. Pretty happy with the finish just have a small blemish on the rear left bumper that will need to get fixed.

Also finally recieved my order from JDM Car Parts. New reproduction fender mirrors and front turn signal lenses and bracket. Both of good quality.

The guys at JDM Car Parts helped with reducing the purchase price to avoide taxes and duty, very appreciative to them.

Ive decided on getting a new bonnet, Gavin you are right panel beater said the same thing. So Ill wait a few weeks and get one. I can see the stressed look on the wifes face lol but she did suprise me and made my birthday cake.

Bumpers look good, how much was it to get one of them done? Do you know if they sent it to Victoria or did it in NSW?

Hey Guys

Small update. Had the car under carriage and Inner guards stone guarded. Still a little wet but came up nice.

Hopefully Monday will pick up new bonnet and have all panels aligned. Also going to get some sound deadening to put inside the carriage to reduce the road noise. Just not sure if it would be a good idea to put the deadner on the inside wheel arches due to the interior possibly not sitting right.

Cheers

Hey guys

Been a while since my last post. I purchased the new reproduction bonnet a few weeks back and its sitting at the panel beaters shop waiting to get put on and have all the panels aligned.

I realised that the right rear control arm is upside down, not sure this is normal?

Also just getting the suspension sorted to coil overs with bilstein shocks, no camber tops though didn't want to cut up the body. Later on Ill sort out some adjustable control arms for the rear and front.

I found a R200 diff and a mustache bar to replace the R180 Auto diff. Ratio is 3,7 open diff but future plans is to LSD.

As I still have the old bonnet Im thinking of selling it. Anyone Interested let me know make me a decent offer.

I might be interested in the old bonnet. Let me know what price you're after via PM perhaps?

Hey guys

Finally recieved my number plates for the 240z, Looking very shmick. Cant wait to get these on the car once finished.

Very nice plate.

I was waiting to see if that combination would pop up on the forum.

I was starting to wonder if the MCM boys had grabbed them for their car.

Hey Guys

So whilst the 240 is up on the rotisserie I decided to strip the engine to a long block, and take it to SW Motorsport for a rebuild.

I was thinking of going all out with a stroker kit to a 3.2L but I think at this moment I need to be sensible. I think a mild cam, flat top pistons and triple OER Carburettors should be enough for a cruiser.

Also had the rocker cover polished and it came out nice.

What other options would you guys suggest for the L28 rebuild, would love to get some feedback.

Cheers

Youhan

Hurry up and get your suspension to Marcel, i need the rotisserie your car is on as the brackets are already made for it!!  ;D

More than likely getting my zed dropped off next week to get blasted and at the very least epoxy primed!

So yeah... your car needs to come off that rotisserie, and mine needs to go on LOL!

Rudi.
