Much harder to find our version as you can imagine. I think the original intention was that folks who contribute to the community by either donating to help keep the site running or by contributing to technical posts or help in other ways should have access. Where as those who "take" but do not give back shouldn't get access to it.

It was more about determining how that's done that was the barrier to making it available. It's just more admin work is all.

I don't get your point. Because it's hard to find our version, is all the more reason to make it public. Unless copyright or something is an issue?

It's not that I'm unwilling to share it, it's that I was asked to set it up in such a way that those who contribute to the community would be able to gain access to it. I just haven't got around to administering that yet. Easiest method I thought of was to create a private section of the forum that only donating members (or members above X posts can access).

If you're desperate for a copy send me a PM, you'll need a Google Account to access it from GoogleDrive.

What appear to be Kobe Seiko / rally wheels?  Currently at just over 400,000 yen (~$5,000 AUD) with 1 day to go.  Suspect a couple of people on here may have seen them but didn't post because they were bidding ha ha ha!

The page doesn't translate well but the word "junk" is in there a few times so I'm not sure if these are stuffed:

I'm not super familiar with these wheels but they don't appear to be genuine - there shouldn't be a gap between all of the spokes?

Gav or Alan may be able to confirm...

Junk is a translation for used or second hand items in Japanese auctions. You'll see "Junk Treatment" which basically means no warranty, it doesn't mean the item is junk in the true sense..Judging by the distinctive corrosion from Magnesium I'm seeing on 1 they appear legit, however the seller has a reputation (read into that what you want).

The wider version as fitted to Z423-Rs and Works rally cars had a hole in the spokes. (These are very rare!)

The more common Z432 fitted wheels had solid spokes and were only 5j wide.

I found this set in NZ about 6 or more months ago.

However they were too far corroded to be safe to use and beyond repair. Even these in good shape are blood money...

Having dealt with Magnesium wheels. If they have corrosion on them and have been like that for a while you want to steer well clear.

The Magnesium is a porous metal and if they are not stored correctly the metal literally crumbles after a while. I had some F430 Scuderia wheel repainted and after blasting them with Walnut they have to be baked for about 4 days to ensure there is no moisture in the metal before applying a sealer undercoat. About $8000 in reconditioning and this was only for stone chips not restoration...

RE: Magnesium you also have to get them x-ray checked by a specialist for cracks you might not even see on the surface (internally) which could split apart. Basically they are dangerous. Not to mention what happens when you put water on a magnesium fire!
