240 motor on ebay at the moment out of a 240k if some one wants a high revving 260 the crank and rods will fit your 260 block going cheap at $100 starting price in SA

I thought the increase in displacement from 2.4lt to 2.6lt was achieved by increasing the stroke. Wouldn't putting the crank from an L24 into a L26 just reduce the displacement to 2.4lt?

Yes it does the 260z motor is a lazy motor and heaps slower than the 240 motor, with the shorter stoke the car gets up and goes and a lot more fun to drive, you can also put the crank and rods into the 280 motor gives you a bigger bore shorter stoke motor than can rev better.

Same unit in my 240... he used to sell them for $990. Still a good price though.

I have a DR30 3.9 LSD in my Green 260 and it was bolt in with the 260z half shafts fitting straight in (spline size was the same)

Not sure on the compatibilty with the 280zx rear end half shafts

A little spanner work is involved..ie replacing the front flange with your original and if you are installing in a R200 equipped 240/260, half shafts have to swapped from left to right then bolt in. Just have to be careful with the torque of the front nut holding on the flange.

In an attempt to flush out anything Datsun of value in Gladstone I've been informed of a guy with a couple of 200B's. These come with worked L20B motors, ported heads tricked up with better springs and valves etc. I asked if they had side draft carbs but he got rid of them to use a downdraft 350 holley or something. Anyway these cars were racing ones so if the cars or parts appeal to anyone let me know and I can take a look.
