Having driven one, I would recommend an L28 any day of the week. They are sssssllllllooooooowwwww.

It was in a HR30 though. Might be better in a zed. Still not worth it though

ben for otomoto had/has one for sale for wayyy less then that... hmm... dont think 2l engines were much good until the fj20 from japan... could be wrong...

For the money i wouldnt bother. You can import a l28et via sea freight from USA for less.

I called up and spoke to the seller, he was extremely cocky over the phone. I gave him an offer of 1500 freighted to Melbourne, but he reckons he's had more than multiple calls/inquiries since listing the item and that he's more than certain to receive the price he's listed it for.

Since he was so cocky, I got a little mad and suggested to him that the only reason why one would purchase an L20ET is to transfer the bits and make an L28ET. I was very civil and articulate when making the suggestion...

Weird - I had purchased parts from this seller in the past, but might think twice now.

Even $1500 freighted is expensive. From the bits of information I have managed to find the L20A turbo inlet and exhaust manifolds are different (more restrictive) compared to the L28ET manifold, the turbo would be too small and the ECU would be mostly useless/not tuneable given how old it is.

If you are going turbo save up and do it once and do it right, or whack an RB in it 8)

To quote Ashley (ZR240) 'Gavin I wouldn't let you put 1 of those in your Z' when he was selling an L20ET :). They are very asthmatic.

you dont ;)  if you want to go turbo just go efi dont try with carbs.

+1 - Do it properly :).

yep dont try with carbs ive been there and done that, go efi so much easier, also a TD04 from a saab is way too small of a turbo for a z, the factory one is almost too small, the turbo you would want will be a t3t4 hybrid a gt35r or a holset hx35

Im considering buying one of these...

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DASH-MAT-SUIT-DATSUN-240Z-260Z-LIFETIME-GUARANTEE-NEW-/380274341785?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item588a1df799

but has any one brought one or seen one in the flesh? i tried searching here on the forums for any reviews and what not (even this thread) but i didnt seem to find anything. (i hope i didnt miss it somewhere and just am reposting? :/) for info sakes my dash seems pretty far gone and i already have one of the "skins" on there from the previous owner. for the time being or till i can afford to fix the dash properly it seems like a easy fix to make it look a bit prettier.

I have one but dont think I got it from him from eBay though, it fits pretty damn good actually think mine was from Sydney, but take note of the delivery time they are not in Aus they outsource them from overseas mine took about 3 weeks from order. I needed it straight away the advert says they are located locally but they arn't
