  3. Haha hardly fishing. More trying to keep head above water. been swamped with facebook and emails and the odd SMS. Slowly but surely getting sold. I thought I would have more spare time. Drivers door sold. Others still available. I will try get photos up but email is better.

  8. Hi everyone. Have been here a fair bit of time but over the last year, having a daughter has meant I havent had much spare time. Now Im trying to get into the full swing of things. I met Ian this morning (Aussiezed) for a fuel tank he needed. Thank you for the great chat mate. And for pointing me to the forum once again. Anyways formalities aside, I have a 240Z USDM car I am stripping as I think the shell is too rusty. There are still usable bits but really depends on what you need. What is NOT available: - Full interior: Dash is broken but can have it if you need. Headlining is still intact though. - Front and rear suspension: Cradles are both off but I might have arms, etc lying around. - Engine/Gearbox: Both being used. - Doors: Yes everyone needs these. Including me. - Fuel tank What IS available: - Complete shell with rust in floors, rear hatch slam panel, sills, etc etc. However..... Roof looks good as do rear quarters. - All glass: Windscreen, rear hatch, rear quarters. - Front fenders (bottom on drivers rusty) - Headlight assemblies - Front grill There might be a lot of other things lying around. Will have a whole bunch of stuff available soon so please enquire (most of interior, except dash being used though) Also on top of that, will have (off the top of my head) these available: - 240z Carbon cowl panel. Origin unknown but from Japan as a package with a whole bunch of body parts I bought. New never used $400 - Solex 40mm Triple carbies. Will open up to check as soon as I get a chance $offers (come and check it out if in Sydney) - FET Manifold to suit as well - Fibreglass overfenders ZG Style in grey $200 - Rear spoiler one piece bobtail $200 - Rear spoiler 3 piece $350 - Perspex ZG nose headlight covers $450 Plus more I will add as I get time.   12. Wanted to buy. I need stock suspension off a 240Z. I took the existing ones off to weld coilovers on but they were 55mm?? The struts were aftermarket "made in USA". Not sure what was going on there. Anyways hoping a set of 240Z stock suspension is available for me to cut up and fit. If anyone is able to assist in any way, that would be much appreciated. Good evening fine people of VicZcar 1) Im after a box that I can either a) drop straight in and drive with no hassles (L31 stroker making 270hp) b) use the housing to retro fit a 71C from my 180sx SR20DET. 2) Nice street cam for a motor I am giving a go at building myself. L28 N42/N42. Prefer one I can just drop in and also looking for any other suggestions for the car. Kind regards, Bardan

  19. Cheers for the encouragement fellas. You are an extremely keen bunch of enthusiasts for having recalled that car. Yes it was on Gumtree for a ridiculous price. I think I paid a fair whack under a grand (including tow) form the nicest gentleman from (if I recall correctly) Seven hills. Gavin, I remember making plans to meet up with you but then had a baby in the meantime so that went out the door haha. Also I have some serious thinking to do. An L28 with a 3000cc stroker kit and 44mm Mikunis has been offered to me in Japan for around 6k. I cant say I know the owner but some of my friends do. Thinking of sleeping on it but woried it might sell in the meantime. ahhhh.
  20. So Im sending a few bits and pieces to Peter MC next week to see if he could assist with building an engine with the parts I have. Anyhow I will be needing an engine to get my car driving in the meantime. Am looking for anything I dont have to worry about putting together, etc. Would love it if a gearbox was also part of the package. So L24/26/28 or if you have any other complete conversions I could put to good use on my 260Z later on, then Im keen.
  21. Hello to the greatest forum around. Long time lurker but finally getting a build thread up. This is my second time starting on a S30 so I am not sure if I have another thread somewhere. Anyways long story short, I acquired my current 240Z through a lucky find (someone here alerted the 3rd party classifieds thread). It was just up the road from me as a rolling shell with no hanging panels or interior. Having just let go of the 260Z I purchased off a forum member (Tai Tran), I was itching for another project to start that didnt need quite so much body work. The car checked out and the seller being a towie, agreed to tow her to my place of residence. So here I was staring at what was... and what was to come. What was... 1970 240Z #0000601 Looked relatively rust free Nothing except bare shell and rolling hardware What was to come... Hours of trawling the internet looking at thousands of photos and hundreds of builds, I would have ended up with a 240z (or ZG) powered by the stock L24 (or L28... or SR20... or RB26... or 2JZ) rolling on Watanabe Type R (or Hayashi Streets... or Longchamps). Point being, the internet while being an awesome library of resources can make (making) decisions a very very difficult process. Dont even get me started on colour choices (Although I would like orange of some sort). Anyways, it was decided that I start searching for parts. And locating every single part missing looked very daunting indeed. I got every one of my friends in Japan loking for anything remotely useful to my build and countless hours on vicZcar, ebay and gumtree. Most of the body panels came from Japan as well as a mixed bag of upgrade parts that would maybe be useful. Below is what I managed to collect. All body panels (Japan) Weatherstrip kit (America) 3-4 sets of carbies 40mm Mikuni, 45mm OER, 44mm webers plus something else. Kameari full rebuild gasket kit LD28 Crank P90 Head N42 Head(s) N42 block(s) 90mm pistons and rods out of a friends L32 in Japan Kameari 89mm pistons Greddy Trust Extractors 3" Complete exhaust Original Works kit ZG Nose Headlight covers 3 piece wing Bride seat rails plus more. Bodywork: This is where I wanted to focus most of my efforts. Having no background in bodywork, I called around and found Quikstrip in Bankstown to be very helpful indeed. After a quick phone call and a bit of bargaining, they organised to get the shell picked up and blasted (Mid January 2015). I received it today (7-2-2015) stripped of all its previous lick of paint. Engine: I originally had grand plans of slotting in an SR20DET with all the fruit as that is the engine I grew up drifting on and building... and rebuilding. So mounts were measured up and aligned and implemented. It all looked awesome. Engine sitting behind the front crossmember, plenty of room for a V-mount intercooler/radiator setup, much lighter. Then came the fateful trip to Japan. Had talked to Shoji from Starroad through a friend of mine for a while and I really wanted to take him up on his offer to see what an L31 could do. That was the end of any form of late model EFI/Turbo conversion plans I had previously harboured. Turn the car on... throaty rumble. Give the accelerator a couple of dabs and a slight smell of gasoline seeped into the cabin. BUT THAT SOUND... Aural pornography. That was the moment everything changed. The next 5 minutes driving was secondary to my decision. Currently talking to Peter MC to recreate that experience so my Z too may pleasure me (and tose around me) aurally for years to come.

Knowing the logical thing to do would be to ask advice on this forum but :/. I am more into the newer Nissans so very open to be educated on anything Z-car. A lot of the parts as negotiable as I am not 100% sure on the price and as we are all a group of enthusiasts, want them gone to a good home for a reasonable price. Beats Ebay. Going OER 45 Instead. 4) Aritaspeed widebody kit (Im sure its a replica) Picked it off my mates garage in Japan. $500 for the 4 flares and the front lip. Suit ZG. 5) "Fairlady" Badges OEM. Condition good --> excellent. 6 available $40-$70 each depending on condition. ALL SPOKEN FOR 6) 280ZX Bonnet with vents in good condition $200 7) EOI semi Stroker kit (3.2L??).
