The bottom one is a 260Z knob.

I have an original 240Z one and it looks like the light coloured one in the first link.

Yep I have one of those in my car right now, I didn't realise they were so special!

Apparently Adam did his research and these examples of enameled shift dials are not that common.

This guy has 2 L28's for sale.

1 has blown a head gasket and is washed out between 5&6 cylinders. So will need resurfacing.

The other is running but he said it has a timing issue, suspects carb or distributor issue.

Both engines are F54 / N42 combo's he quoted me $150 for a long motor.

I was going to take a punt on the running motor but at this stage I might stick with the original plan and rebuild my L28.

Posting it here so someone can potentially grab a bargain.

Carby Madness...

L Series Intake Manifold Kit with Triple Dellorto 45 DCOE - $1,000.00 Negotiable

Seems cheap...

SK Carbs (OER) - Triple 45mm SK Carbs with linkage/manifold for 240z/260z - $1,300

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/maroochydore/engine-engine-parts-transmission/fs-triple-45mm-sk-carbs-with-linkage-manifold-for-240z-260z/1037491419

Twin 240z SU's. - $350

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/crestmead/engine-engine-parts-transmission/twin-su-carbies-manifold-linkages-/1036694319

These look like the OEM Hitachi SU's that came on the 240z (not the British ones which are lower quality in my opinion). They 'seem' like they are in good condition - cadmium plating still in tact and polished domes. However I would factor in a rebuild kit for all carbs mentioned here.

You can do a lot with the original OEM SU's. Well worth the money if you're still running the flat top 260z ones.

And i was about 2 weeks away from buying those nos ones on yahoo...

No problem, there was another set with the base also that went for about $200 AU, I was going to bid on them but it will have to wait until more pennies are in the bank account next month lol...

What will you do about the bases?

I have a plan..... Will have to wait for some things to arrive from the states, but i may start bringing a few sets into aus and reco them as there is certainly a higher demand then there is supply.

Cheers Doug
