gilltech Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Restore? Restore what? Even if the identity still remained, there are no mechanicals, no interior, no loose panels, everything usable that can be unbolted has been taken away and the shell is a cobweb by the time the rust is removed from those thin steel panels; by the time the thing is 'restored' with heaps of fresh steel and all the hundreds of necessary parts found and installed so very little of the original car will remain, maybe less than 10%. I don't call that a restoration, I call that building a car up from a hodgepodge collection of parts collected from all over the place. Quote

gilltech Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 (edited) Ha! I'm a practical realist not a dreamer! Knew I'd get a bite or three. Oh I'm a Zed enthusiast all right, having owned mine for coming up 34 yrs... but I can't boast, there are one or two others on here who can better that. I just believe that if a car is to be 'restored' then the majority of it - well surely at least 67%!!! - should still be there at the finish or it's no longer the same car is it. Having fully restored from bare metal a rusty Mustang ragtop in the past I am only too aware what is involved, the cost, effort and downsides, and that was working with decent gauge American steel not light gauge Nissan steel. To each his own. Edited February 13, 2018 by gilltech Quote

This RX2 gets up and goes really well, it has a rebuilt 12a with a Racing Beat Holley on it. Very impressive how it drives for a little 12a! Overall the car is in good condition for its age, everything is there, it has NO RUST in the chassis, its a very good base car to start with but it needs to be repainted and have the interior re-trimmed. Any inspection is welcome and can assist with interstate transport if required. **Please no time wasters or stupid offers** Quote

This car is number 2 of 3 created. Handcrafted and thoroughly engineered this is basically a imsa race car for the street. Please Google primadonna 240Z and familiarize yourself with this vehicle and its history. 355 cubic inch Chevrolet small-block with Scarab adapter and 4 speed race suspension and brake system with proportioning valve. This car has been a dream of mine ever since I found out of it close to 20 years ago.. I've spent over $5,000 within the past year in order to sort the car. Unfortunately the previous owner who was here in New York neglected the car slightly.. needs some paint on the rear wing and new inserts to be fabricated. Also the driver side door needs some slight paint work. Please serious inquiries only and I will be happy to provide serious buyers with further details and photos Quote
