I had thought it sold already a little while ago. Asking price was $189,000 USD.

Gav, whats the paint code on this Z432? It appears to be different to all the other orange colours I've seen on z432's and z432R's

I believe it's 905 Monte Carlo red, the other orange colour was 918. The PS30's came in all the normal early S30Z colours, it was ONLY the PS30-SB or Z432-R that was only available as 918 orange from factory. However many of these were repainted in different livery anyway.

Ando San's Z432-R tribute or replica car I believe is repainted in 905 Monte Carlo red or something close to it. Love the colour.

I've got no problem with modified/personalised cars, but it gets on my wick when people describe them thus: "...it is extraordinary to find a highly correct car such as this, and rarer yet in lovely, restored condition, even in Japan, let alone the literal handful that are known to have been imported by connoisseur enthusiasts."

"Highly correct"? Just a quick peep at the photos shows rear interior trim from a much later car, sound-deadening removed, lack of original wheels (The 'Z Sport' wheels are nice, but the missing Kobe Seiko 432 mags are a key part of a 432), custom radiator, custom exhaust manifold, custom ignition and - to top it all off - an S130 bonnet emblem on the black painted bonnet. The previous owner in Japan went for a watered-down 432-R type look which doesn't live up to description as "highly correct".

I hear gossip that this car had a rear-end impact in Japan some time in the past, and it would be worth investigating the method of repair.

Also in the auction blurb: "...In 2016 he presented the car during Monterey week, where it drew a crowd at the Concours on the Avenue in Carmel and received high marks for authenticity by the few known experts on the model."

Who were these "few known experts", and who was looking after their guide dogs...?

It appears that: HS30 00019 may have been made just before and HS30 00030 just after.

NB: It still has the Nissan 2400 OHC cover.

Black was not a factory colour until the "black pearl edition" was introduced with the 280z in North America.

I would like to find out what it's chassis no. is.

That one has been bouncing around ebay and other sites since the middle of last year.  On the face of it, it looks quite good but I think something must be wrong with it because it would have been snapped up by now.

It's actually very close to me and I was going to take a look but the showroom doesn't open on weekends and it would mean me taking a day off work.

1974 DATSUN 260Z Super Samuri

£48,600 (currently equivalent to AU$78,690)

"This is a rare opportunity to buy a 1974 Datsun 260Z Super Samuri.
Manufactured in Japan in 1973 this is an original UK RHD car first registered in August 1974 and is one of just a handful of surviving cars converted to Samuri specification. This particular car was actually owned and converted early in its life by Kevin Irons himself, a former partner of Spike Anderson at Samuri Conversions at Silverstone.
The car is finished in the correct colours of Nissan 110 red and Rootes Tango bronze metallic and has recently had the front and rear Samuri script and white pin striping re-painted professionally by hand to ensure the vehicle retains the perfect period look.
Of course the vehicle has the usual Samuri additions which include a modified engine with a gas flowed cylinder head ,up-rated stage 2 fast road camshaft, triple Weber 40 DCOE carburetors, sports manifold and exhaust system Also upgrades such as four piston Wilwood Superlite front brakes and coil over suspension, along with a Mishimoto alloy radiator and S14a gearbox conversion make this car drive and handle superbly, more than capable of keeping up with modern traffic and surprising many with its performance.
The body work is in excellent order with some slight patina adding to the cars fantastic authenticity and the cars fuel tank was replaced in 2014. All clocks and gauges are in perfect working order and whilst it cannot be guaranteed to be correct, the speedometer reads just over 27,000 miles with MOTs back to the early 90s showing each annual mileage.
The interior is in excellent original condition with the correct period Hitachi radio fitted and the addition of an extremely rare genuine Nissan Nismo 10th anniversary steering wheel sourced directly from Japan which complements the sporty handling of the car with its slightly reduced diameter.
Also fitted are rare painted and polished JDM Enkei 15 x 8 Alloy wheels adding to the period feel of the vehicle. Tyres are as new.
The car has been owned and improved by myself over several years, including a full engine overhaul 2 years ago by a professional specialist in historic road and rally cars to keep the car in peak condition. When completed this was rolling road tested showing over 200bhp so it goes as well as it sounds!
Currently with an agreed insurance value of £55,000 today the car comes with much recent history and as a 1973 build is eligible for historic road fund licence.
The car has just completed a trip to the Le Mans Classic and covered over 1,000 miles without a hitch."

EXPORT NO PROBLEM!

ATTENTION COLLECTORS!!

This is a superb original 1971, 1 Owner, Low Mile, Low Vin, Series 1 240Z in excellent condition all around!! This original southern California car has been loved and meticulously maintained by a single enthusiast owner and it shows!! Looks runs and drives fantastic! This car was purchased from the dealer with every option available at the time including AC and the SUPER RARE Webastos sliding sunroof!! The car is unmolested and retains its matching numbers drivetrain, original panels, underhood period correct features, etc. This is an investment grade Z. I purchased a few years ago and it has been in climate controlled storage for the past 2... I am stacked with restoration projects currently so I am offering it for sale one time as-is... if it does not sell I will paint it do some minor details and raise the price substantially... This is an OPPORTUNITY!! This little Z would be an awesome weekend cruiser, daily driver, or addition to any collection.

The body is straight with no collision damage that I can see. It is Rust free with the exception of some minor bubbling in the passenger lower fender and a bit of bubbling in the hatch sill corners. Car received a nice driver quality Re-Paint in correct Datsun 903 Dark Blue some time in the past... it presents beautifully with some minor blemishes... It's fine for a driver but you will want to repaint for a show car. Frame, floors, and chassis are super solid! Doors close tight and windows work nice. Period correct dealer option slotted mag rims and near new tires. Get's tons of looks and compliments everywhere we roll.

The interior is fabulous as well... panels, carpet, and seats have all been redone and look great... dash is cracked under the full face cover. Gauges, lights, and electronics all work properly except the clock of course. I have the original radio for it. AC blows cold!! This has an extremely rare and collectable Webastos Sliding sunroof as was used offered the Porsches and VW's of the era... This was a SoCal only dealer option installed with factory authorization by American Sunroof Company... Very collectable feature. The canvas shows some ware and I have not attempted to open it. I'm going to try and have my upholstery guy look at this week.

L24 motor starts idles and runs fantastic... tuned perfectly! The car has great power... 4- speed Trans shifts smooth and strong through the gears!! Suspension feels tight and provides excellent ride and brakes stop straight and sure. Strong, powerful, and reliable... freshly serviced and tuned... ready to roll.... definite daily driver capable.

Overall this is a really cool Classic Z in great condition all around. I am a Z collector. This one makes a great investment and/or Awesome Weekend Cruiser, daily driver, or whatever you like. Great for any enthusiast, collector, or anyone looking for a cool and unique Vintage sports car at a great price.

The car is located in Beverly Hills California... Inspections are welcome and encouraged... serious buyers can call me at 310 850 8980 but no tire kickers please. I'm open to interesting trades (within ebay guidelines) but no projects or junk please.

It's a nice looking car - but the paint is not the original colour as claimed.

The original 903 blue can be seen in the engine bay which has not been repainted.

The seller flips a lot of early S30z's he was also selling #64 a while ago. I think his descriptions can be optimistic let's just say.

Up for auction is a nicely restored 1971 240z Series I with the authentic rare hand throttle feature. This is a 2016/2017 restoration with only a few miles on the odometer. The restoration consisted of a combination of new authenticate Nissan parts, original reconditioned parts and OEM parts. The Z was intended to stay in my personal car collection, but I decided to buy a RV instead to take the family out on trips. A little history about the Z, I purchased it from an 85 year old man in the City of Los Angeles a couple of years ago. Since the Z was intended to stay in my collection I only used quality parts and material. Please ask questions or send a vehicle inspector to rate this Z. I will ship World Wide.

On a different note, the 432 that went for Auction on the weekend sold for $170,500 usd

http://www.rmsothebys.com/am17/amelia-island/lots/1970-nissan-fairlady-z-432/1702023

Moved to the Global Thread instead. I actually think this car had quite a few minor issues with it, like incorrect parts etc..It also had questionable body work / repairs done to it as it was reported it may have had a rear-ender a at some stage in it's life.

A nice Skyline GTR (S20) and a Toyota 2000GT both sold in North American markets didn't get the bidding frenzy of a year or 2 earlier for similar cars. It could be that North America isn't really the market for these cars or a softening market for these cars?

That 432 may have had it's problems, but there are not many that come up for sale.

In my opion a cashed up collector may grab it thinking "a bird in the hand........"

If I had the disposable income I'd have bought it myself. Fixed the inconsistencies and got it to the level I'd like it. So I agree it was a good price. With the strength of the USD it's still a 200k AUD car. So not like it was "dirt" cheap.

It'll be a great car to put a bit of work into and (as the Estate Agents round my way are so fond of saying...) "add value". Fairly easily done and the car is a great base to work from. $170k US is still $170k US, so agreed it wasn't "dirt" cheap.

What bugs me is that people are now using it as some kind of weathercock (emphasis on the cock...) that's pointing to market trends. Most of these people wouldn't know the arse end of a 432 if it ran them over in the street. Meanwhile, 99% such cars are still in Japan, changing hands in Japan and enjoying their own little value bubble in Japan, all but oblivious to what your average Z owner in Pigsknuckle Alabama has to say about the matter.
