Administrators gav240z Posted July 21, 2016 Author Administrators Share Posted July 21, 2016 Do you mean the Portuguese S30z? http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C752425 http://www.fsautomoveis.com/detalhe/Datsun/240Z/224705/ The lucky son-of-a-gun's got the Kobe Seiko magnesium wheels as standard in their market. This two-seater coupé called 240Z was the first generation of two-seater Zs coupés produced by Nissan Motors between 1969 and 1978. It was designed by a team led by Yoshihiko Matsuo, Head of Nissan’s Sports Car Styling Studio. In 1971 Edgar Herrmann won the Safari Rally with a 240Z and Shekhar Mehta, also with a 240Z, ranked second. In 1973 Shekhar Mehta won the Safari Rally again driving a 240Z and definitely catapulting the car to fame. This 240 Z is in excellent condition and has spent the last 30 years in a private collection. Good investment opportunity as the demand for these cars is on the rise. Administrators gav240z Posted August 14, 2016 Author Administrators Share Posted August 14, 2016 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1973-UK-RHD-Datsun-240z-Red-Prev-owner-28-yrs-lots-of-pics-260z-280z-Nissan-/361684301521 £14,750.00 I am curious what sandblasting the underside of this 1 would reveal... I bought this 240z about a year ago with the intention of building it up to the standard of my other one, but with a one year old baby, any free time I have I want to spend driving the cars, rather than working on them. I am also looking to downsize the collection and stop paying out for storage unit rental so I will also be selling a mk2 Escort Rally car of a serious spec soon. The previous owner was a seriously nice guy who was in tears as I drove off. He actually bought it off his uncle, so it has been in the family for longer than 30 years. The story goes; he had one before that was quite ‘ripe’, so when he got this one in 1987, he paid for it to be painted red and undersealed every panel inside and out. You will see from the boot floor it was originally pea green, but has been red since the late 80’s and stood the test of time well. That is mainly because it didn’t leave a dry warm garage for most of that time. Basic details are: 107k miles Only 6 previous owners No MOT, but I put it through the test in May to know what needed attention to get it on the road. Original Wolfrace wheels Stainless steel exhaust Very good original interior inc vinyl turret covers and transmission tunnel which is very rare. No cracks in dash etc. Since I bought the car I have replaced the following: Clutch kit (complete) Clutch slave Clutch master cylinder Brake calipers Rear drum rebuild New brake lines (flexy’s and copper piping) New brake master cylinder Exhaust with a stainless steel one Battery Since the MOT, I haven’t really done a lot so time has come to pass it on. The MOT fails from May 2016 are as follows: 1. Horn not working (1.6.2a) 2. Front windscreen washer provides insufficient washer liquid (8.2.3) 3. Nearside front side repeater not working (1.4.a.2c) 4. Offside front side repeater not working (1.4.a.2c) 5. Nearside rear tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm (4.1.e.1) 6. Offside front anti-roll bar linkage rubber mounting deteriorated resulting in excessive movement (2.4.g.2) 7. Offside front suspension arm ball joint dust cover missing (2.4.g.2) 8. Nearside front suspension arm ball joint dust cover missing (2.4.g.2) 9. Nearside front trailing arm rubber mounting deteriorated resulting in excessive movement (2.4.g.2) 10. Offside front trailing arm rubber mounting deteriorated resulting in excessive movement (2.4.g.2) 11. Nearside front wheel bearing has excessive play (2.5.a.3c) 12. Exhaust has a major leak of exhaust gases exhaust manifold gasket (7.1.2) As you can see bushes, and other minor things! NOTHING STRUCTURAL which is also clear in the pics. Other than the above, the driver’s door needs aligning, various bits of paint need attention, the rev counter doesn’t work and other things like 30 year old (minimum) tyres should be replaced. She starts, stops and drives, but will need trailering away due to the MOT fails unless you’re just moving it around the corner. I am not going to go into the value this car has as in investment, if you’re looking you already know this. Pics, lots of pics in my Photobucket album here. http://s1305.photobucket.com/user/joe_priest/library/240red Password is 240red I encourage you to look thoroughly but also come view if you’re seriously interested. Please no low balls, but am I am also willing to let it go for a reasonable offer. Also, I could theoretically take a px on a modern car, but only trade price will be given as unless the missus loves it I will likely sell it on swiftly. It's a recent restoration. The thing is there is quite a few incorrect parts on it, when asking top money buyers would probably like to see. A few off the cuff.. 1. In correct number of delimiters in the Oil / Temp Gauges etc.. 2. Rear tail lights are reproduction - not NOS. 3. Valve cover shouldn't really be red. 4. Wheels are not the correct Kobe Seiko wheels. Although in some photos they are shown. 5. Gear knob is not correct. I actually think the rest looks great though!
Administrators gav240z Posted August 17, 2016 Author Administrators Share Posted August 17, 2016 1971 Datsun 510 SSS - Sedan. http://www.ebay.com/itm/222221317470 This ready to drive Datsun is a perfect all original example - the engine, interior and all other systems and features are all original, and yet still extremely robust with no issues at all. Most of the remaining Datsuns are either rusted or upgraded making this a rare chance to own one thats all original, and one that can easily be improved to showroom condition if you want. The Datsun 1600sss is a car everyone likes for its good engineering - for example its rear wheel drive and over-head cam technology are both advanced features for a mainstream cheap car it was. The car's paperwork is all in order, the title is in the name of our company. Wherever you are we shall assist with freight at your cost. I'm pretty suspect of the ID plate and the whole matching numbers thing.. Compare the stampings on this S30Z plate.
