  1. Finally got some paint on 905 red is very red? Found some braided hose (slightly lighter braiding than original but better than straight rubber) and used 2 strands of copper wire to shape. Looks ok but wire might be too soft? Printed a hinge for tool box needs a bit more work hinge too stiff
  2. Should have looked into this a bit more Have new boxes that didn't come with hinges
  3. As above What to use for the hinges can't find any repros No idea what they look like Photos appreciated Thanks Nick

    Panel gaps

Refitting the panels prior to painting. Fitted doors and have a </>5mm gap to rear quarters and to sill and swage lines line up (should I fit rubbers and door hardware?) Do I just work my way round the car and try to achieve an even gap?? I guess all panels have to be bolted up What kind of gap should there be between scuttle panel and wings also between inspection flaps and wings Also how to correct a slight taper to front of bonnet/wing one side only Advice /pictures welcomed Nick
  6. Thanks need a longer tube
  7. Hello Is there a bracket that holds the above tube in place and if there is any chance of a picture Thank you Nick
  8. just been through this again and has proved invaluable regarding placement of battery tray and a few other things I wasn't sure of!! I spent a good deal of time cleaning the mastic from around the welded bolts for the steering column . obviously I shouldn't have done that. A couple of questions What to use to reseal the nuts? How are the bolts secured to the consul that the choke/throttle are bolted to Wonderfull Nick
  9. Thank you Ordered one interesting to see what its like Nick

    Battery Tray

Refitting a battery tray that has been taken out and refitted previously Not sure where to fit it. The tray fits quite well above the welded on nuts on the fire wall and above the one on the inner wing. Ive seen picture where the nuts on the firewall were visible so Im not sure Any photos would be great Thanks Nick
  11. Great job
  12. thanks must be pedal end
  13. Hello I want to fit new firewall grommet for the throttle shaft I guess need to remove the ball joint? (prefer not to) How forceful can I be (don't want to break) or will I be able to get grommet over ball joint? Looks like ball joint just pressed on? Hope I'm not over thinking this Nick
  14. 👍
  15. Hello Is the later 260 engine mount compatible with early 240 Thanks Nick
  16. Need pictures of how the plastic toolboxes fit and if I need hinges a picture would be great Thanks Nick
  17. Hello I am missing the above can I just blank off the hole Detrimental? Or fit a grease nipple? Or spend a lot and buy repro? Its quite small Thoughts appreciated.
  18. More disappointment. Remover engine and gearbox the super cheap autos engine leveller jammed solid with gearbox too low to clear front crossmember! Very hard to lift box and move hoist. All worked out ok and returned leveller. Replaced rather than refund most probably not a good idea. Noticed that the universal joint was welded onto yoke. Is this salvageable? Thanks
  19. A small achievement cleaned and rebuilt a hatch vent. The plastic/rubber components where all good but painted and dirty, they cleaned up ok I got some generic speed nuts that fitted Used some 8mm open cell foam and cut it to size and stuck down with double sided tape. I will have to repeat this step as the tape stuck the speed nut so it was hard to jiggle into position for fitting the vent. Satisfying couple of hours Its easy to see how the cost of restoration builds up. 4 clips to hold components to hatch $110 Speed nuts $18 2 packets Barrel clips 4 $16 Vents $150 Had the foam and tape Nick
  20. Thanks clips arrived barrel clips on back order, need some speed nuts 08961-43210 no longer available guess generic nut would do? middle on is genuine Also need to source some foam Thanks again you have been a great help Merry Christmas Nick
  21. Been a long time but have been chipping away Repaired dash just need to texture Tidied steering wheel Body work all done managed to get 5mm gap all round In the process of sorting out the rear hatch venting system I need to source some barrel clips (same as the ones that hold on the emblems?) and some speed washers, Nissan have discontinued, so will have to find some generic ones. Need so many small bits and pieces that are not available in Australia and the postages costs from Europe and the States are so expensive. Lucky the only panels I've had to replace are the bonnet and rear valance Hoping for paint by end Jan.
  22. Brand new genuine Nissan parts for 1971-1978 Z series $115 including standard Australia postage Unused unopened 0400350225 Nick
