  1. Looked to be about $37000 spent in Australia guess wouldn't have been cheap when sold in UK add import charges not a lot of cream! Ad says $45000 spent last 4 years Wonder if car sold on consignment?
  2. I think condition and originality are the imperatives, but like for like the 240 would out value the 260 (not sure why)
  3. Just wondering how's the build coming along?
  4. 10000 coins traded for $40 for 2 pizzas worth $850,000,000 today
  5. Thanks to all Energy suspension looks to be good value? Nick
  6. Hi Where did you get the kit from Nolathane said nothing available for 240Z Thanks Nick

  8. Sure I'll need some
  9. Sound advice i'm sure not to everyones taste but am trying to replicate 50 year old car without the rust So plan on using original unrestored parts and only use new when have no choice ie hoses ,bonnet, rubbers and mechanical components Just a pity that I have so many little bits to get and the hoses are so expensive!!!!! Nick
  10. Ticked a few bit off the list today
  11. Did you the precision seals for the rest of the car if so how was fitment. Thanks nick
  12. pm sent
  13. Thanks Now have lots of bolts to clean
  14. Interesting no black circles on mine I guess the black is just there so you don't see the body colour if the fit isn't 100% Just some clarification on bolts holding panels are they all painted from factory Are the engine bay bolts something different ? Thanks
  15. Thanks for the response Around the door inner aperture sorry for confusion Under the 1/4 lights you can just make out the brush stroke. the paint here appeared original matt black-body colour-dark grey-red oxide one could see where the masking had been from the later resprays The grey in the plenum and the undercoat looks to be the same. this is where I intone "Albrecht von Goertz father of the Z Car" and wait for the genie to appear
  16. Hi just after some clarification on paint and methodology. Noticed an absence of paint on the air tubes and the body work under the wings (is this bare metal or is there a a very thin coating?) Should the plenum chamber be painted in primer/undercoat appropriate to body colour Is the scuttle panel painted in situ with the plenum masked (it seem that the line between the body colour and the grey is indistinct) retainers not painted? The matt black round the door apertures is hand painted? (original?) how about under the 1/4 panel windows. Wings bolted on when painted ? Hatch hinge brackets not painted? Bonnet hinges painted but not the bolts holding the bonnet on? Hard to work out what should be on a car that's had 3 resprays and several touch ups Thanks Nick
  17. Impressive work y'our doing on these cars, out of interest on a job like this and on something like the Wags car how many hours would be involved on body work?
  18. Hello Rudi ihttps://www.ebay.com.au/itm/324156602239?hash=item4b793d377f:g:IIMAAOSw4Xpewq-A The listing states that the kit is for an early car but the fat pin is, I think for a later model. But the kit does not have the spacer(the shiny bit} and I believe the springs are slightly different there is a kit without the spring and and one with the pins and bushes. Early hinge on right Nick

    Lower door hinges

Got rebuild kits all good now
  20. The other side was about the same the inner frame had a bit of scale cleaned up ok, rust converter weld though primer then after painting will wax oil the voids
  21. Car now stripped to the A pillars some rust top corners of roof but not to bad. repaired passenger side. Removed passenger side lower door hinge and ordered a couple of rebuild kits as I was missing the springs and the rivet attaching the strap to the hinge was bust. Removing the pins was pretty easy just drifted out, the only problem was the pin attaching the strap to the hinge was too big so drilled out and all good, refitting pins bushes and spring was straight forward,
  22. The cars been there since 2008 so any charges associated with import most likely not really relevant now? I think I'm becoming a bit of a pedant but for a "restored" car over $100000 I would expect it to be a little closer to "original" or a lot further away. Nick
  23. Thank you Appreciated Nick
  24. Just wondering who did the clock repair Thanks
