    Thanks for your input a bit confused now one of these for the vacuum hose slide in a coat hanger wire bend to shape and leave wire in? so that goes from booster to manifold 1,2 radiator hoses 6 little reducer under carbs 3,8,9,7 heater hoses 5 vacuum hose 4 valve cover breather 10 vacuum hose 11 bypass so I don't need the vacuum hose and what others Any one got any old wire hose clamps willing to sell???     I have to replace all engine bay hoses can get a full set but has emission hoses that I don't need. So which are the hoses for early 240Z Also are the fuel hoses plain rubber? Also asked earlier after pics of decals and where to place. Thank you

    Thanks I guess some type of dense foam will be the way to go?, the bar is screwed on at one end and welded the other. have unscrewed but it seems not to want to move should I force it then compress foam or will I distort the bar?

    The foam? between the bar and the door skin has broken down now there is a void between the two Also the foam that sits on the bracket on the air tube Whats best to use

    Horn ring looks same as original Wondering about bolts the some originals have an indentation in them and some a cross for screw driver do the bonnet hinge bolts have these?

    On removing the doors noticed that the springs were missing and that one of the pins was broken this was the same on both doors I assume that pin A should be longer and push in to B The drivers door is subtly different to passenger side the pin is peened over? Also should there be a spacer between A and B? Thanks

    JDM car parts offer free shipping and I thought Datsun car source used to (not now) When I looked at the reviews of the forwarders there were a lot of unhappy punters So much fun

    As above I need quite a lot of little bits from various suppliers in USA, as many of them don't charge for internal shipping thought it might be a good idea to have the parcel consolidated and forwarded on to Aus So any advice, thoughts or recommendations greatly appreciated Nick

    The welding from factory was very rough in that area. Lucky what do you use on the raised joint between the air tube and plenum its seems to be a non hardening mastic (brand?) Nick

    I don't know if it was either maybe acrylic primer, just went in and asked for 4lt primer dint seem to be a choice !

    Over the years I've done 8 bare metal resprays all using grey primer and top coat, they mostly look great just from the gun and even better when cut back and polished the finish lasted as long as I owned them. The last, my daily driver 1962 EK ute was painted the same way 20 years ago, grey primer and top coat and the finish is great still. So I guess any of the prep coats and finishes should give even better results

    "all professional restoration shops I’ve talked to recommend epoxy primer." I think professional is what's important, if you are doing the work yourself and don't have full respiratory equipment and a booth then epoxy most probably is not the best option . Ready to be corrected

    Pretty much my approach only I would go back to bare metal for any filler Think your scheme is a solid way for a home job

    Behind the valance is an open box section so no problem drying pitting can appear solid till you wire wheel then holes magically appear good luck

    Depends where rust is if in cavities use rust converter (don't worry about water use air or heat and it will dry) then you can paint with anything then use fish oil I've used fish oil only, just sprayed into cavities it forms a skin its messy but lasts for ages Weld through primer good If you can always remove rust mechanically You can use etch primer rather than epoxy that will keep rust at bay till you are ready to paint
