Could this be it? Could this be an HS30 chassis prefix car with a 903 Blue exterior and Blue interior? The Unicorn I've been searching for?

HS30 00021 perhaps?

*Edit just finished the article, which repeats a lot of myths that have been debunked many times in the past.

Dave Lyons of Hout Bay in Cape Town is apparently it's owner.

HS30 00021 is the South African Press / Demo car that is still in South Africa.  It is in pristine condition and until recently lay in a Nissan "dead house" before being bought by a well known collector.  I've been trying to negotiate to buy the car but he is adamant that he will never sell.  Apparently Nissan Japan have offered to buy the car back from him.  The car is metallic blue.

You can add this to your list :-)

Is that Dave Lyons car?

I'm hearing reports of a fire in WA that have destroyed a collection of S30z's, some early ones too... :(

Yep. Grahams collection. About 24 cars 240z's, 260z's 2 and 4 seaters, S130 2 seater. He must be devastated.

Update: I've heard that his modified 260Zs (one with an RB25 and the other with an RB26) were not in the shed and were not involved in the shed fire.

Potential HS30 spotted in Hong Kong.

Could have been an ex-AU market car too!

Why does it have the storage boxes, Is it a cut n shut?

Yeah, I feel bad for the guy. At least he is building it into a race car I guess.

Hard to know for sure, my guess is the firewall was transplanted. Lots of poor weld work. It was previously a rally car. I'm guessing it could be an amalgamation of cars.

Funny to see the number live on however.

At first we got excited to find a low vin # car. But as we can see so few early cars are original / complete now.

I'm always hopeful more are to be unearthed.

I've heard a rumour around #6 being an ex Arnold Glass dealership car that was crashed then stored away in a shed. But it's still hearsay until we see photos or evidence. I like to think it's true.

Gav is right .

No 00046 saw it last day as a road car in May of 1989. It was hit from behind by a semi on the Gateway highway near Belmont QLD. It seems semi's can't stop for red lights in the wet when ZEDS can and come to a complete stop for some time. I know this as I was in it at the time. This is what happened to it . I have more photos but just not sure where they are . The photo's were taken at Alan Stean's Zed Car Workshop as he brought It off of me and sold me my current 260Z as a body shell . I transferred the 240's running gear over in to the 260. Alan said that the front cut would be used as a rally car.

Do you know if it was originally 905 red?

Yes Gav I did

Interesting the way I found that out . I purchased the car back in January of 79. So being only 10 years old it was in fair shape . But it had been repainted  the moron red of the G- NOSE car.As one does the minute you get a new toy, you start to modify it.Triples ,exhaust , front and rear spoilers the whole box and dice. Remember I was in my late teens at the time and that dark red does not do well out in the weather all the time.So a number of years later, Alan says to me , lets start a car club and you then find yourself at the vice President work place.  By accident he damages the rear hatch with a scratch . This thing needs painting pointing a beer  at it were the words i think  he used . His idea of painting is a bear metal respray of the whole car . It was at that point we found the original colour. At the same time he came up with the idea of a triple SU manifold for the L - series 6 cylinder engine . We made 10 sets of manifolds . But that can be a story for an other time

I've got a triple SU manifold in a box somewhere - no idea of its origin though.
