Hi Graham
Fresh paint on the car could actually be a negative as people would suspect rust etc hidden beneath the nice new paint. These cars are very very prone to rust and it usually a bit like an iceberg, ie what you can see is only the start of it.
Insofar as a value hard to say without knowing about the rust or lack of rust.
Detailed photos would certainly help to work out a value

It is more and more about the money these days.
At Bathurst for the last couple of years one of the best viewing areas on was fenced off as Bar and you could enter if you purchased beer them at premium prices. Long gone are days of free entertainment for the fans.
Looks like the thread images can only be viewed by memebers of that forum.
But if something like a 432 twin tailpipe was readily availiable (assuming they aren't already) in Australia I would imagine a few buyers would be around.
Neat bit of gear, not sure it would under the Z.
I can see it really helping folk with arthritis work on 4WD's drives etc.
Potential grey nomad marketing opportunity.
I have known your pain.
More power + more grip = either Diff or Box issues. Had same happen on a car years back took 3 boxes to get one that would last any length of time.
Lucinda must be quite the machine these days, she wasn't exactly slow when you took me for run in her about 12 months ago.
How long until she is back on the road ?

This has been discussed at length before, seems to be very differing experiences with them.
Personally I am not a fan, but understand why so many people use them.

Plenty of good advice will be found in these pages, including ideas on alterante seats & building a rotiserie.
In sofar as being 6'2"+ one of our "members " is a bit taller than that so rest assurecd these are cars are not resticted to folks of shorter stature.
Good luck in sorting out your Z and look forward to seeing some photo's.

Re the number plates, I am no expert but I am pretty sure that the only requirement is that they are not on an angle.
There are some exceptions though ie EVO's
Polution control - officially any gear that was fitted when the vehicle was new must still be in place and operational.

The hardest part is you will need to a get "Blue Slip" these can be obtained from a nunber of workshops.
Once you have that organise some insurance and you should be good to go.
This is different, and some say easier, then the old "Pits" at the registration office
Everything you need to know is on the RMS website
