  1. Hi Dave Have a great and safe trip back to Melb. These days it is reasonably easy drive. Stay safe Cheers PB
  2. I had no idea that they did anything automotive, certainly sounds cheap. Are they equipped to do alignments etc as well ?
  3. Hi George Appreciate the offer, but received a message this morning from another member offering to lend me his. So at this stage all sorted. Thanks again PB
  4. Thanks for suggestion Gav, but another Sydney based forum has offered me a loan of his so looks like I am sorted. Cheers PB
  5. Evening all, I need to strip back a couple of brake backing plates off an old Chevy I am fixing up the brakes on. Has anybody in Sydney (prefer Northside) got a blasting cabinet I could use, (will compensate with your preferred beverage) Or Can anyone recommend either a cabinet to purchase or someone who will do such a small job for a reasonable price. Appreciate any advice Cheers PB

    sold.

Hi Does it run at all ? What did Pete Mac say was wrong ? Are you still looking for $4,200 ? Cheers PB
  7. Just shows what is possible when a company answers market demand with a great car package at an affordable price. The S30 set a new benchmark in affordable sports motoring in its day. The original MX-5 also sold like hot cakes for the same reasons.
  8. A mate of mine has them on his Supra, his only negative is they don't last to long, but given that your Z is "occassional" use that shouldn't worry you.
  9. Very true, the technical guys at work tell me that 80+ % of your stopping power comes from the wheels (unless you are going backwards ) and drums are more than adequate for most uses and that is why new cars continue with them.
  10. Welcome Have not driven a Hako myself but have only heard great reports about them. Good luck in your search for Z, with that budget you should be able to find a tidy car, BUT when you see a good car don't waste time as they tend to sell very quickly. Cheers PB

    WTB L28 Headbolts

What would cost if they stretch and cause the head gasket to leak ? As previously mentioned Cheap / Fast / Reliable - you can only have two.
  12. Haha, doing something very similar myself. Have a set Simmons V4's, an L28E and a manual gearbox - Just need the S30 to attach them to

+1, that is assuming you can afford to get new ones
  14. Welcome to the forum. Shame you don't have a photo of your old Z, a photo may jog some ones memory. Repairing an Alfa 1750, a lovely car and quite a spirited drive, but man can they rust Good luck getting the Alfa going, it will be worth the effort. Cheers PB
  15. That's the spirit, acquire cars to fit the parts in the shed - love it .
  16. Have to agree, sounds rather sus to me. Just glad the car is safely back in your garage. Could have been so so much worse. Good luck sorting out the list. Cheers PB
  17. Hi Mate Definitely not over reacting. I just can't believe any workshop would do something like that, makes me wonder how much care they take with the work they do. I too would be calling him and asking when you can pick it up and see what he says.
  18. Hi Paul, Really happy for you and glad it is as good as described, I appreciate how nerve racking buying off photo's etc can be. Sounds like it needs very little work rego so you should be able to get out and enjoy it really soon. Me jealous ? Very much PB
  19. Hi I can see them and it looks absolutely amazing. Cheers PB
  20. Hopefully no one on this forum is bidding against you ? Good luck PB
  21. Hi Rev I am about 45 Mins from Narara, and would be happy to pick them up for you. Getting them to Melb is not something I can do in the near future though. Cheers PB
  22. Great result, and heaps cheaper than the first price of $88 per boot. Glad it worked out. Cheers PB
  23. Gidday Have you checked the vacuum connections for blockages, leakage or just disconnected ? Cheers
  24. Good point George, so unless anyone has major objections morning it is.
