  1. using shorts socks? i'd say they're getting sucked into trumpets and sufficating the motor. Try pulling them forward and zip tie down.
  2. Cheers Alan, had started to cut and shut a std handbrake for the left side, but it wasn't a five minute job. The amp knob on the prop valve is a nice touch, but mine goes all the way to 11!
  3. Do you have a photo of one of these? I just put a Hydra brake in the 260z and the Nav loves it, she uses it as an armrest!
  4. Nissan gave him the '76 winning car, which was a LHD car I belive, however they weren't picking him up for the '77 championship. Ross had rolled that car in the Alpine rally destroying it, he took all the good parts off it put it on his old 240z then, used that car to beat Nissan Aust ( running violets? 710) and win the championship.....guess that made it a nice parting gift in the end. That 240z? from what he told me it was on sold, parted out, was adament the car no longer exists
  5. FWIW i did ask Ross what happened to the zeds and he said none of them survived. He won 3 Australian championships 1975 in his own 240Z ( Ross had a Datsun dealership) 1976 in a factory backed 260z and again in 1977 with the old 240z using parts from the rolled '76 260z but no factory support from Nissan Aust

    88mm pistons

i would never have thought to look at VW, the problem is the engine builder wont guarantee my motor when I start boring out conrods to fit

    88mm pistons

datsun Spirit is my fall back option, I think I had isuzu truck pistons in an L18 rally motor PRC 2500-3000cc =1090kg 3000-3500cc =1180kg really if I'm going to spend $$ for custom I want the biggest bang for buck 3.1 but it's a big weight penalty what sucks is a datto 1600 can stroke 50% to 2.4 and still be under 1030kg

    88mm pistons

Can anyone recommend a 88mm piston without going custom. If I was to build a stroker I might want to go under 3.0l to save PRC minimum car weight
  12. are you after an internal or external oiling cam?
  13. Nah just using the Carter, have to have a cut off switch to pass scrutiny
  14. I'll have to fit a LPG cut switch, pretty sure it's factory fitted elec pump but can't see any relays back there
  15. Thanks Michael flutes arrived today.
  16. Can someone tell me does the 260z have a fuel pump cut off relay? ie when the car stalls the elec fuel pump stops. when I turn the ignition on the fuel pump stays on
  17. Do these fit the 51mm struts and are they both fronts cheers
  18. FWIW i don't think you will find efi E88 in anything that was delivered in OZ. A US 280z maybe I sold the motor out of my MR30 hatch and it was n47, are you sure that's not what your after has a more desirable chamber shape
  19. Hi mate interested in the left fender mirror?
  20. If I'm not rallying in April I'm going to Race to the Sky, so jealous Leadfoot is on my to do list but going in a Lambo that's just obscene.

    WTB bonnet flutes

I prefer the unfluted, this bonnet is FGR so i curse the PO who went and cut out thoses holes. I do have a spare steel fluted bonnet and no the driver has no tray, stupid when the plugs and fuse links are under it.
  22. Yeah I've been stockpling them for my Sandman, they are 5 years old
  23. Yeah they are big boots i guess I'll have to give it a squirt on the local hills. Your right on the side walls, when fitting them to the rims I noticed alot flex for what was an expensive tyre
